I agree that sometimes it feels like naturals aren't allowed to have fun, I love to see how healthy your hair is and proves that with proper care we can enjoy it. You inspire me to dye mine once I reach waist lenght (in about 5 months) and not be afraid anymore.

i’ve been natural my whole life and started dyeing my hair red (or various shades of burgundy) 11 years ago now. I’ve not once regretted dyeing my hair!! as long as you accept that your hair will change slightly and you take care of it, what’s the issue? there’s this phenomenon of demonizing anything that goes against “the law” within this community… when the most important thing should be that you love the hair you have, whether it’s natural, relaxed, dyed, short, whatever! so glad to see you having fun ❤

These colors look so good on you Jae! Not everyone can rock this combo and have it look this good! I keep saying I’m gonna get myself some of that color wax cuz I’m too chicken to permanently dye my natural hair…I’m a lazy natural and already KNOW I won’t be this intentional about doing what’s needed to keep it healthy, despite having always dyed my hair when it was relaxed. Natural hair is just a different kind of beast when it comes to color. I also used to do my Wash n Go on soaking wet hair. But, being that my hair is both thick and low porosity I have to do it damp cuz it would literally take my curls 24+ hours to completely dry, since I air dry only.
I'm too chicken to dye my hair too!😁Thinking about some colored extensions instead. That way I can mix 'n match & color coordinate to my outfits on the daily.👀😂

Guys. She has a change in texture and what you all perceive as volume because she has color treated/bleached her hair for a long period of time, her hair has also grown a ton so it hangs a lot lower, and different techniques of applying products. What you guys think is a change in “thickness” just comes from the illusion that tighter curls give off. Thickness comes from the number of strands in a certain amount of space on the scalp, not how big it looks. Her hair is still thick, it just hangs differently. Everyone critiquing her about her hair and how it looks now as opposed to whatever other time you want to refer to knew this but came to complain anyway and this is why the natural hair community is so suffocating and toxic.

Your hair texture has definitely changed. Looking back at some of your earlier videos, your hair appeared much thicker. But this is a good look for you.

The longer your hair gets, your curl pattern will change because the strand is getting heavier. It’s not even really changing, it’s just stretching out more because it’s heavier and longer.
I love the cut it's so cute your brown hair is growing well too, I think we can look forward to see ya color free by June or July next year.
I'm not sure about a curly cut tho cause I do wear my hair straight sometimes, so a curly cut won't be an even cut. However, if I ever find such a trustworthy salon in my country. I might just drop by to see if they can really do a curly cut on my hair since my hair is tighter a bit. I would love to experience it one day for sure when I'm ready.

Your hair is beautiful. I do notice that in your older vids your hair was thicker fuller and the curl pattern was tighter. Bleach is notorious for giving that texturized look

Water provides moisture to your hair, water is a moisturizer. Adequate water and a botanical gel works amazing for a wash n go! If your hair feels dry from only using gel then your hair is dehydrated. Not directing it at you but to the people in the comment section too.

Also PROTEIN. I did intense protein treatments every other week. And the off week, I did intense deep conditioning treatment.

Question! Did you use the same color mix that the first stylist did with your hair? Secondly, I absolutely agree that color scares naturals. It scared me too but once I did it, BEST DECISION EVER. Granted I did it because I was having a crisis and my sister paid for it to be done as a christmas present but I absolutely love it! I don't think I'm ever going back to my natural hair color. To keep it healthy of course you have to have a good regimen. Make sure you're using olaplex or some kind of bond treatment, protein treatments, deep conditioning, and making sure it stays moisturized. Once it starts to get dry you gotta zhush it up

What is cool about having your hair dyed a color like this is you get to see how fast your hair grows and can actually chart measure that over so many months I'd go 6 months and measure it then you know in a half a year exactly how much it grows ans not go by what mainstream text books say because everybody hair growth speed is different so this would be awesome would like to see a video on this on growth and maybe try put a growth oil? And see the most growth you can get within a certain amount of time challenge. I can still do this challenge but I wont be able to tell like you what growth I got (i dont have my hair dyed anymore) so other than it being further past my waist which os where im at alittle past right now ao only way id know. lol I would totally do this if I could. ❤🎉 you should

I’m going to have to invest in a Dyson dryer because I struggle with frizz and the dryer I have is good, but it makes my frizz worse.

I have the same curls type as yours but my hair is just so frizzy even when it’s wet I have tried protein treatment but still so frizzy I don’t know how to get moisture into my hair Even when it’s literally wet especially the roots

I wash my hair usually once a week and I trim when my wash n’ go’s are harder to do… when I start to see single strand knots more often.
