- This is a book review of Victorian and Edwardian Retail Catalogues. These books won’t help pin down the names of manufacturers but they do provide a snap shot of glass being sold by various UK high street retailers at a fixed time period.
The books reviewed are:
Edwardian Shopping: A Selection from the Army & Navy Stores Catalogues 1898-1914, authored by R H Lanbridge
The Victorian Catalogue of Household Goods, authored by Dorothy Bosomworth
Victorian Pattern Glass & China Book

Ah, I just asked about this and have since found your resources section on your website 😁
You're great!
I really need to expand it for the next release.
Hi, I was lucky enough to come across the glass and China book on a car boot a couple of years ago. I agree it has to be 1870 or just after. It struck me how few of the glasses have a knopped stems. Enjoying the vids
Yes, one of my other books has a few factory drawing pages from the 1830s and 40s, plus catalogue pages from the 1850s 60s and 70s, and you can see the styles changing.
