thank you so much for your comment! it means a lot to me! from your comment I feel you are familiar with the video editing process and the time it consumes :')
I've always been a fan of custom keebs but never took the dive in myself. Got a $100 amazon gift card this christmas and stumbled upon this one. I've always figured buying prebuilts on amazon is a bit of a suckers game, but it seems like this company has pretty good rep and I figured it could be a good starting point for me. Also some sort of ergo shape is a hard requirement for me - And it seems almost impossible to find good, prebuilt, budget keyboards with any type of ergo shape. But really your sound test sent me over the edge. The super quiet sound has always been my favorite since I first started watching keyboard builds and stuff - I'm not sure why, it just clicks like candy in my brain. Still waiting for it to arrive but I'm stoked. Very glad to have stumbled across this keyboard and similarly your channel. Hope I can use some of your videos for inspiration on my journey :^)
Oh, thank you so much for your comment! ^-^ I feel you've researched the topic perfectly - I usually try to do the same. Amazon can be tricky, indeed, so researching brands, and then the picked product before buying is essential. At least I think it's the best we can do to avoid bad purchases and entering consumerism. (Not me hoarding keyboards in the back of my room where I write these lines from... :') Ngl, plenty of them will go the aftermarket though.) I'm very happy to hear that you found a (probably) perfect combination keyboard! These silicone-free switches are really amazing, I mean I'm even entertained by the stem design itself. I myself think the case doesn't need any mods, but I think I'll try lubing the switches, just to see if they can be even more smooth and/or silent. I hope your package will arrive in a short time, so you can enjoy the keeb soon! :-)
I bought the kit and it sounds amazing stock. I don't even care that it isn't aluminum, it's just that good. You should try different switches. I'd love to watch a follow-up!
Will definitely try with other switches! ^^ It's a great stock keyboard, I checked others as well and they also found it's not needed to mod - though it's fairly hard to open the case anyway.
Really nice review & a very chilled vibe to it. Dare I say a touch of the "Hipyo" about it? My ABM066 should arrive today, really excited to see it in person. Thanks!
@@thoccnology Subbed. You've definitely got the feel for making videos. I tried for a bit so I can appreciate what goes into even short videos, the quality is very good. My ABM 066 turned out really well although I did swap the switches for some Wisteria Linears which has made it sound quite deep & marbly. Love it!
@@fubarfubar1977 Thank you so much! ^^ I can relate to this, I started making videos because it seemed much easier than it actually is. I just found your channel and I just subbed right away! I was just looking for a review and to find this level of production and dedication just got me I really want to try some Alice (programming is my job) but I'm not from the US, and the cost with shipping would be $115 usd, and i kinda hesitate for the price on some other options even if they are not alice
Hi, Thank you a lot for joining, and for your comment too! ^^ I feel your situation, I'm from the EU, so shipping is usually more than it's in the US. I recently found an extremely cheap alice option, I couldn't try it yet, but it looks good (also Ajazz keyboards are almost every time top-notch, especially in their price range) bit.ly/Ajazz_AKS068Pro Whatgeek offers free shipping worldwide (also they somehow managed to ditch the custom prodcedure, thank God), so it's my go-to site. :D (Also I remember seeing a wired-only version for Feker Alice98 under-$100, but it seems sold out now. :/) Nevertheless, I hope you can find a worthy Alice somewhere for your work! :3
im about to order this keyboard and i was wondering if i can do solid color rgb on this board, also is the little aesthetic circle on the bottom left able ot change to solid rgb as well? Love the way you edit your videos btw!
Thanks for this review. I really want to try ALICE layout. I need VIA compatibility and wireless connection, so this seems to be the right board for me. I'm ordering it hahaha
The wrist-rest for the Keychron V8/Q8 might work for this board as well, but I'm not 100% sure. Try to check the dimensions and the angle of the split if you do decide to order it.
They're very different indeed! These are silent switches - almost no sound compared to the Gat Pro Yellows. :) They're not (or only a tiny bit) pre-lubed, so the feel can be further improved by hand-lubing them!
Great video. Are you still using this keyboard? I've heard that this keyboard has some Via compatibility issue. Well I was just about to order this one but now a little worried about the Via issue since I was planning to remap a key to the Win key which doesnt exist on it
How to these silent blue switches feel? I mean at first i thought they sounded scratchy, but on a second thought they remind me of my topre board soundwise. I want to buy this board and im looking at the barebones, since i kind of need to use my own keycaps (QWERTZ) and have my own switches. But these switches kinda sound nice, and the keycaps have some cool novelty ones (like the caps lock)
They're quite good and as they don't have any silicone on the rails, at least it's not mushy! Applying a generous amount of lube solves even the scratchiness. (All the other silent switches are quite expensive, especially the really good ones, like TTC Frozen Silent, etc.) The keycaps are very unique and so fun, it's sad it's not sold as a standalone keycap set.
You just have to make sure to look for keycap sets that offer split spacebars - most of the others are almost 100% that will be included by default. Or if you happaen to have split spacebar kits at home, you can try mixing keycap sets so you don't have to buy extras.
Hi, the .json file for via can be downloaded from Cidoo's or Epomaker's website! For the image tool I usually disable the firewall on my computer, though *I don't encourage anybody to do so*. (But it definitely solves the problem. :))

wtf. the amount of production that went into this. it's very creative. thanks so much for making this - keep it up

The backlight can be set to a single color, but the circle can't be changed afaik
Compared to the price, I think this keyboard is very good start for non-alice keyboard who want to try the layout!!!!
I totally agree! There are not many budget alices out there, and if someone doesn't want to risk a lot of money, this is a great choice.
This is a really good deal! I love soundtests for silent switches its like "yeah that's quiet 👌" lmaooo

You're so kind, thank you so much!
Where can I buy a palm rest that fits my keyboard? I haven't seen any of these keyboard videos with a palm rest that fits!
It seems to be out-of-stock now, but it should be here:
cidootech.com/products/cidoo-ergonomic-wrist-rest?variant=47164382839074
Hello, where did you get the wrist rest from? I’m planning on getting this board but I couldn’t find the right wrist rest for it
As far as I know, they're planning to release it on their website in the future (cidootech.com and/or epomaker.com)
The wrist-rest for the Keychron V8/Q8 might work for this board as well, but I'm not 100% sure. Try to check the dimensions and the angle of the split if you do decide to order it.
Are the switches pre-lubed? Do they feel premium? Compared to Gateron Pro Yellow 2.0? 😊

It's sold here:
cidootech.com/products/cidoo-ergonomic-wrist-rest?variant=47164382839074
It seems sold out now, but I'm sure it will be restocked.
is there any link to purchase the wrist rest?
The Black version is supposed to be the one - only out of stock :/

The software linked is for Windows, is there a link for MAC?
They don't have it for mac as far as I know
