It’s amazing watching this guy speak Chinese. He’s the last you would think that would. It’s freaking so amazing.
Thank you! Although I find it really hard talking and signing at the same time! Because the grammar is totally different. I tried to accommodate for both but I feel that they both took a hit in this video
yeah im Chinese
This is such a wholesome video, thx for raise awareness of disabled population in China
I love this. I always appreciate seeing english and Chinese subtitles so i can practice my chinese, but realize how imperative it is for deaf and hard of hearing people. This makes me want to learn ASL ☺️
Thank you Alice and Jayme for your video and giving us insight into the daily life of a deaf person. I really enjoyed it!
I love this. So easy for people to see what you might lose but a lot harder to truly understand what you might gain. 你们都很厉害哦!When Alice said about the huge bang and vibrations it reminded me of a chap I met whilst filming before. He said storms were the worst because the vibrations are really terrifying. He played guitar and had so many amazing stories to tell! We didn't get a chance to talk about the impact of not hearing like you guys do here though. Thanks for making this video! Massive respect for anyone who takes the time to learn sign language despite being hearing too.
Thanks for your support!
we all should be kinder to deaf people
Thankyou for making this video! My dad is deaf and we are chinese but he grew up in the UK learning BSL. Its so refreshing to see a video on chinese people who are deaf. So much respect for you for learning this sign language and spreading more awareness! ❤
Alice is just charismatic. Thanks for bringing us a different world
I love her sense of humor!
Didn't appreciate the nasal hair joke though...
Dude what a awesome video. What a lovely girl that seems verry positive . Respect to all people that are deaf. I really would like to learn there language.
This was an incredible video. Both of you are awesome.
What a great video Kevin and Jayme. I am legally blind and love that you are touching on awareness for disabilities. Fingers crossed, perhaps after the pandemic is over, we might cross paths in Sri Lanka or India. Happy New Year to you both!
We tend to become ignorant to this kind of community within our own environment, so it’s fascinating to see these experiences from another prospective/country too! Thank you both for spreading awareness to a simpleton like me 😂
Please share and open up more eyes! 😄
really interesting and gives a great perspective. quality video!!
great video. my son is deaf and it's interesting to see what it is like in china. Always enjoyed your videos of your time in asia. hopefully you can find a niche and make more content while stuck in the states.
When is Jayme going to get his own UA-cam channel? He'd get so many subscribers.
When I find someone to edit for me 😂
@@JaymeLawman amazing that you learnt to use Chinese AND sign language simultaneously mate, your channel would be massive
Looks like no one cares, he only has 879 subscribers.
alice has a great personality, great video!
Cute and funny! plus a positive lovely soul this girl is a gem
Thanks for sharing. My Son is deaf and always enjoy and interesting to see things like this.
Glad he liked it!
哇噻Wow!这个视频好棒!你们两位好棒!小伙有语言天赋,人好👍姑娘聪明美丽有魅力👍
You need more videos!! Make a channel PLEASE. Also, she is really funny. I love the joke about gender equality to make you pay hahahaha.
Agree. Jayme should have your own channel.
She is stunning🤩
She is the perfect wife! I need to re-examine my life choices! Lol. Excellent video and very educational! Thank you
好有意思吧! 感谢你们
Kinda busy right nowbut so looking forward to watching this later ❤️🙏🏾🇬🇧
Love it. Too busy to watch. But free enough to drop a comment
@@Monkeyabroad please visit Xinjiang and show American media what Xinjiang is like!
Dude you got that Faze Banks vibe lol, I love that you learn dialects in China!
I'm Deaf from Liverpool England and have made hearing friends wear earplugs to raise awareness! I get her frustrating so much!
Too bad the earplugs didn't do much! If only i could afford the airpod pros....
@@JaymeLawman if you get the right type they work unfortunately they weren't high quality different plugs allow different frequency through :)
Interesting video!
big❤, well done, peace!
Nice girl Alice!
My father had a deaf man than worked for him when I was younger and my mom learned ASL and taught me but after he got a really good job opportunity I no longer used it. I feel bad for not continuing to practice but I plan to learn it again someday when I have the time and money to afford an instructor/teacher
Is that the same dude who was taking test of Chinese local people's test on street about how much they know their own language and rectifying them??
no its a different tall tattooed white guy

hello Jayme !! I was always wonder where she is now ?? oh still alive whew I'm happy your have fun and enjoy time with your good friend Alice. I really impressive with you, you did really good CSL !! than me my is zero CSL :( You really very courage and very passive learn about deaf issue. that is reallly cool !! I My ear sound level is 125bd other is total dead DEAF !! Many thanks for your share experience how deaf doing and life and communication with taxi guy etc... Ask you who teach you CSL ? Alice ? how long you know her ? I did trying to learn china language with words and write guess my failed because no one teach me and not use then forgot easy. I need deaf person teach me that will help me better understand but never find one.
Great video. Amazing introduction to Chinese sign language, and Shanghai. Interesting insight into technology making people of different abilities more equal. I wonder if there is a an app for text-to-speech, and speech-to-text to fix the problem with drivers calling instead of texting. I can understand drivers reluctant to text & drive. Speech recognition is so advanced now, it must be possible to convert speech from phone to text. And vice versa.
Jayme is awesome signing one handed while recording. I wonder if the day may come when visual recognition allow translation of sign language into text, then captioning can be automatic, and different counties sign language can be automatically translated, and Jayme won't feel so much pressure. :-)
More videos from China, please. O btw, I am sure technology, or lack of, is still an obstacle in rural China. Shanghai must be the most advanced city, or is Xiong'an better for accessibility?
Great points. Text to speech and speech to text is very advanced these days but hasn’t yet been introduced to the ride apps. Maybe one day! Shanghai is a lot more advanced than rural cities, yes
@@JaymeLawman I googled, "voice to text app for deaf phone user" and found this. rogervoice.com/en/
Google Transcribe also sounds promising.

There are text to speech apps, but the key is to integrate them to phone, and ride sharing apps. Perhaps government regulatory agencies and help motivate companies to fund them.
Here are two videos, from Roger Voice UA-cam channel.

Absolutely not haha
Can Traditional Chinese-writers read Simplified, and vice versa Kevin?

I see her use two hands to communicate, and you use one; how does that work?
I was holding the selfie stick haha. Its mostly just like guessing where the other hand would be. Almo li if I ga yo ha a senten an yo ha to gues th end of the wor...
@@JaymeLawman sounds difficult
哈哈哈哈哈😂
Aaah she's talking so fast 😂
因为疾病,我也快聋了,我的后半辈子该怎么办
are you back to china kevin?
No I’m in the US
Hi ☺️ deaf
The problem with having everyone learn sign language is that it's just not realistic, most people go their entire life without having a first hand encounter with a deaf person.
If you're supposed to learn another language for the sake of maybe being able to help some random person communicate one day, why not choose for example spanish or mandarin instead? You're then probably millions of times more likely to be able to help some random stranger communicate one day
I might saw you somewhere in real life🤔

Hey Kev, guess what, I got the seasonal flu and lost my sense of smell and taste just as like always in the past 40 years when I got the flu. Know why bro? Cos my sinuses are temporary blocked by the mucus. Not because of big bad China man virus. 🤣
Whether or not we agree, I'll still always respect you. This ain't like you bro
@@Monkeyabroad just messing with you bro. Hope you’re well. You’ve disappeared a bit since we last spoke. Mexico is still cool, gonna be here for a while as we applied for a 2 year visa.
Any new content?
PS don’t go to China, they do anal probes on all foreign visitors, no joke.
@@MEN101 Hey man I'm sorry about that. I just dropped the ball and forgot to respond to your earlier email. It's likely I'll be making a trip to Mexico soon and I'd like to come visit you while I'm there.
@@Monkeyabroad all good bro, it has been a crazy 12 months for sure. Glad you’re fine. Still remember the good fun we had in Bali 😎👍 those were the days!

Why on earth did you remove the video of Jayme testing Chinese locals on their Hanzi and pretending to be "Chinese"? What the hell...?
i wonder how masks have made it more inconvenient for the deaf community and what can be done to remediate this
I've seen pictures of transparent masks online but haven't actually seen any being sold. At least not here
Alice mentioned there is 国际手语,what is that ? I don’t know if I should learn ASL or CSL to communicate , how (dis)similar are they ?

The Living God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, & murderers, & immoral persons & sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith & trust in Him today & repent.
Serpenza said you are paid by CCP to create content, is that true?

Do you plan on covering real issues in China? Now is not the time to pretend all is well. Why exactly do you say you are “unable” to be in China right now?
I’m not here to take suggestions from a pleb like you. Go deal with your own rEaL issues, you fuckin loser
