- Emma Raducanu enjoyed some down time from Wimbledon as she went for lunch with fellow tennis pro Fran Jones in London on Wednesday amid her relationship rumours with Romeo Beckham.

It was a wise decision to miss Roland Garros and the Olympics to focus on the grass court swing and then prepare for the North American hard court tournaments ~ all the time building up her ranking so she doesn't have to rely on wild cards: her wins at Wimbledon raised her 41 places to move her into the top 100 again.

The tournament poster also singles out her participation.This shows her value to the tournament and her popularity and attraction to the audience. For players with a long lay-off, playing under a wild card is simply common, definitely not a shame. Also, do you know that Osaka is ranked lower than Raducanu?

@@joycew.6531 I mention Osaka because no one makes rude and mocking remarks about her. She and Raducanu similarly took long lay-offs. Both of them started playing again this year with wild cards. But Osaka is still ranked outside 100 and her needs for wild cards are more than Raducanu. Another similar example is Kerber who is ranked outside 200.

Raducanu has 2.4 million followers on her social media -- the most among male and female tennis players, past and present and more than Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Serena, Sharapova, Swiatek, ..... It could be said she is the most popular tennis player, male and female, in the tennis history. Her record of winning a GS as a qualifier (and without dropping a set) cannot be broken (it can only be equalled in future if at all). That means she will remain a record holder in the tennis history, male and female, eternally. Yes, forever. Also, she is the only player, male and female, winning a GS in only the 2nd attempt. It's not the end yet. Her finals match with Fernandez at the US Open 2021 is still the match in the tennis history, male and female, having the most viewers.
