-terrible steering authority -inadequate traction -insufficient braking for speed developed -front to rear weigh balance is off -no signal or marker lights front or rear -an alarming surprise to oncoming traffic -catastrophic damage risk in event of collision In short, a perfect homage to the pioneers of automobiling.😀 Practice safe cyclekarting, folks. Your mileage may vary from results shown.😉👍
love the drifts! your stuff is so clean, your cart here is very well thought out, seems pretty loose haha. im building a kart loosely based off of the lotus 49 and your cart work is just inspiring!
A good job there was not much traffic about. It is a grrat shame that we could not drove these on the roads in England. Are there any regulations or requirements where you are.
Sun is shining today and I'm going to take it out for a drive. Need to find somewhere new to film so it doesnt feel repetitive.. Maybe some dirt rally and new camera placements will keep things fresh? I need to give the people what they want 😄 haha
A cycle kart , when built to spec has around 6 horsepower at it's peak RPM . A close to 200cc single cylinder 4 stroke powered by gasoline . Honda , Predator , etc.
Not that I'm aware of. The open nature of the spare wheel was intended to allow the heat escape. I have experimented with not running the vinyl cover inorder to act as an intake, but it's hard to say if it made a difference or is needed..?
Any idea why it was so skittish in the rain? Think a motorcycle would have skidded where the cyclekart did? (Good plan, that, having the skids when alone on the road.) I thought when you got on the coarser surface it would be stable, but it didn't seem to change.
I think it was a combination of wet roads, skinny overinflated tires, and my alignment is far from exact ;) It was a real home job/first build and in the end things didn't end up lining up as square as I would have liked.. My front axle warped a good bit when welding and my spindles ended up a bit off when it was all said and done. Honestly though; I think it was mostly my driving.. I was intentionally trying to get it to kick out in order to find the limit. I suppose I went past the limit it a number of times....
How much problems do you have with police? Can it be used on a sidewalk? I cannot drive a normal car but sonething under 35mph would work. And due to injuries 6 mph for any distance is too much to bare. In fact my cart will have me almost prone so i can do long distance for long times. Sitting upright i can last for about an hour. This makes those electric chairs impossible for me.
By the color of the line on the road, I assume this is the US. Here in Australia and especially in the West that car would be as legal as cocaine . Not 😊

Good example why you might not want a solid rear axle

Great vid. Looks like fun! ;)
Are the cyclekarts "street legal vehicles"?
Nope 😂
If go karts ain't street legal then cycle karts aren't
@@ThatUA-camGuy224 Actually, theres a few street legal one but they aren’t really cyclekarts when all the work has been done.
@@Yosser70 yeah, it wouldn't be classified a cyclekart since the amount of stuff you have to change to make it street legal
More videos plz ;-;
I'll try and make that happen soon :)

That's amazing dude keep it up... Quick question how much hp is your engine?

Have you experienced any engine overheating? Seems like there is limited ventilation.

Teflon tyres?
Haha.. Just too overzealous in the rain... the cornering grip in the dry is surprisingly impressive
What pressure are you using for the tyres front n rear? Could try 2 - 3 psi less for wet weather. Or if possible, wider rear tyres.
@@robertwillis4061 that's a good idea, I didn't think to lower for the wet, I was still running 30psi front and rear...
3:33 must have been a bit of an "oh crap!" moment

Wet, rear wheel drive and low traction of the wheels. Very easy to induce oversteer.

You can't drive a gokart on the sidewalk. Maybe something powered by a moped engine?
Where did you get those wheels?
I ordered them for.m VKC, but they are just honda CT90 wheels. Check out Kelly Woods for great ideas for building and scavenging wheels
what is VKC? @@lemurdreamur9257

What is the wrong with gauges on dashboard ? Out of work!
They are faux replica gauges of the inspiration car, but just for looks. They're non functional.
MADNESS 😁
Has reverse???
It doesn't. I grab the rear wheels and do the "wheel chair" when I need to back out of a tight spot..

Drift King ! !
I bet flatout that felt like 100 mh
Haha it does! It was in and around 80kph so not that far off ;)

... may be, @Randy, ... but building and driving seems to be a lot of fun ...
Randy, I would advise you to never do this. Good call.
