This is the place to share videos of my adventure with cyclekarts for anyone who's interested. I'm hoping to one day make some proper edited videos that are more entertaining. I guess you'll just have to stick around and see what happens. :)
My First CycleKart Race | Armstrong Pumkin Fest 2022
My first Cycle Kart race in Armstrong. Ended up having a great hard battle with Martin, trying my best to take P1..

imp CycleKart Rain Round 2 w/spins
Переглядів 20 тис.3 роки тому
Just a little boot around in the rain. trying out the new gopro mounting and getting a feel for the handling and traction. Had a few embarrassing spins..
Exhaust broke off before getting to the fun part.. TBC
Переглядів 1,5 тис.3 роки тому
I planned on heading to the backroads for some rainy slippy sliding fun with the go pro. Instead the exhaust broke off before getting out of town.. Making for a very boring video ;)
gopro mount coming this weekend, until then, phone strapped to the steering wheel..

I slowed down for the people standing at the side of the road to be respectful, was worried I was going to ruffle some feathers. Instead he gave me an enthusiastic thumbs up👍so far all I've got was smiles and waves. turns out people in our town aren't up tight about these kind of shenanigans.. Small town life.
Riley Imp CycleKart Nearly Finished

Just a little walk around, nearly finished. took it for a good rip, have a few kinks to work out yet though. I'll post that video soon.
IMP Cyclekart First Drive

It's been about 6 months of building to get to this point. It's a lot quicker than I expected! So much fun. Now onto the body work.
Needs a V8, not for the power but the weight to stick it to the road.
By the color of the line on the road, I assume this is the US. Here in Australia and especially in the West that car would be as legal as cocaine . Not 😊
love the drifts! your stuff is so clean, your cart here is very well thought out, seems pretty loose haha. im building a kart loosely based off of the lotus 49 and your cart work is just inspiring!
Are the cyclekarts "street legal vehicles"?
Nope 😂
If go karts ain't street legal then cycle karts aren't
@@ThatUA-camGuy224 Actually, theres a few street legal one but they aren’t really cyclekarts when all the work has been done.
@@Yosser70 yeah, it wouldn't be classified a cyclekart since the amount of stuff you have to change to make it street legal
ilim
Or is it some old MG?
Thats a nice 1920s Austin 7 Ulster Racer you've got there.
This is the best
Nice low c of g. That's how you do it properly.
Have you had any issues with the wheels breaking or bending?
Good example why you might not want a solid rear axle
33 comments in two years.... suprising. Great kart!! Totally nails the spirit
Awesome first race! Well done! Does your car (and the one you were following) have a differential?
Sorry for the extremely late reply.. our two karts were solid solid axle. No differential or free wheel.
Very nice!
Your cyclekart is one of the coolest I have seen! Can I ask what car is the inspirational car for this build, if there is one?
Beautiful, I really wanted to build one like this here in Brazil
A good job there was not much traffic about. It is a grrat shame that we could not drove these on the roads in England. Are there any regulations or requirements where you are.
-terrible steering authority -inadequate traction -insufficient braking for speed developed -front to rear weigh balance is off -no signal or marker lights front or rear -an alarming surprise to oncoming traffic -catastrophic damage risk in event of collision In short, a perfect homage to the pioneers of automobiling.😀 Practice safe cyclekarting, folks. Your mileage may vary from results shown.😉👍
I enjoyed that, but I bet you enjoyed it more😂
why is the engine in the back?
Because my legs are in the front ;)

Nice race. Is this in Australia ?
This is in Armstrong BC Canada. it was part of a larger community event call Pumpkin Fest :)
@@lemurdreamur9257 Thank you! I thought about Australia because of all that dust 😁I thought the weather must be hot. But I love the track. The conditions are perfect for such kind of retro racing.
@@ulysse21it was very hot! We dont get Australia level heat, but we definitely have hot and dry summers as well ;)
@@lemurdreamur9257 Yes, I remember I've read somewhere that Vancouver has almost a typical mediterranean weather !
Groetjes G
Looks like fun, i hope to find a track in holland, when i finish my first cyclekart, a GN Jap Thanks, and have fun 👍
Did you ever finish it?
Drift King ! !
Your hair, take care of your hair! It's too close to the engine
Very well balance, good job, have fun and drive save 👍😁
Thanks! Finally made it to an event this weekend, what a hoot that was! I posted an on board of the first race, I'll try and put up more when I get so time to go through the footage :)
very cool
That looked occasionally terrifying.
KSI is dope!
missed out on KSI's stuff.
KSI >
Very nice kart
Wonderful job! I love how you incorporated the “spare wheel” into the rear of the car and covering the engine…. Very ingenious. Also the clean lines and simplicity makes your cyclekart a true gem. Good driving 👍🏁
Thank you! I hoped to bring my own bit of flare with this design :)
Wasn't his idea, the Riley Imp has a spare tire mounted there but it does need a tire to make sense.
More details for make...please!!!! =)
Great vid. Looks like fun! ;)
Cool idea to use the "spare wheel" as a vent for the engine.
That's amazing dude keep it up... Quick question how much hp is your engine?
A cycle kart , when built to spec has around 6 horsepower at it's peak RPM . A close to 200cc single cylinder 4 stroke powered by gasoline . Honda , Predator , etc.
Wonderful!!
This brave browser it claims is better the gogle reall stinks. I can barely write and mostly cant. (Which is wgy i am leaving one here .... I a. Going back to google
How much problems do you have with police? Can it be used on a sidewalk? I cannot drive a normal car but sonething under 35mph would work. And due to injuries 6 mph for any distance is too much to bare. In fact my cart will have me almost prone so i can do long distance for long times. Sitting upright i can last for about an hour. This makes those electric chairs impossible for me.
You can't drive a gokart on the sidewalk. Maybe something powered by a moped engine?
Nice job! Would you mind telling me the size of the chassi and body plates? I'm beggining to build one of my own, it would be great help. thanks a lot
Your overall design is awesome. Super cool looking body and stance. Just so you know, I plan on stealing your design when I build one. Remember, imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Well if you do, I would love to help not do some of this things I did. I'm pretty proud of the look/ stance too but next time I wouldn't do it all the same. For what it's worth ;)
That's the moment when i say a bunch of oops and whoops and probably a few words i shouldn't😉...
I'd be real careful driving that on wet roads, if someone pulled out in front of you, it would take a really long distance to stop.
one of the most beautifull cyclekarts I have seen. really nice job, man!
You are too kind! Thanks 😊
