The Downton Abbey star tells Michael Hann how he went from playing one thoroughly decent lovestruck gentleman to another with his role in Christopher Menaul's romantic drama. Based on the book by Jonathan Smith, Summer in February focuses on the love triangle between real-life British artist Alfred Munnings (Dominic Cooper), his friend Gilbert Evans (Stevens) and the girl they're in love with, Florence Carter-Wood (Emily Browning). Summer in February is released in the UK this Friday.

Dan Stevens has become too much " californian ". Too bad 😔 He lost his soooooooo british personality, fortunately not his accent. I'm a bit disappointed because he had then a lot of charm and now with his new look and his pounds off, he is less attractive. As I said , he is too much Californian. Long life to the UK

I can't stand the woman in this story; I don't understand why the men were into her. She's bland, dull and not that pretty IMO.

A little harsh. You can't stand someone because of how they look? Just because someone is not beautiful by Hollywood standards, doesn't mean she can't be considered beautiful. In real life men find all different looks beautiful. Also, this is set in a different time period, so it is believable that she wasn't 'dolled' up for the movie. I always like when unconventional looks are seen as beautiful. She is perfect for the role😉
