Oh, a quick thought and a (spoiler-free) warning! Kiki, now that you reached Skyhold, be careful who you flirt with as you might accidentally end up with someone you are not interested in. This game will not let you freely flirt around after you 'confirm' your interest and you might realize that you cannot flirt with anyone else too late. Blackwall is a known romance-blocker, as what seems like quite an innocent flirt with him locks you out of romancing others pretty early on. The game does not make the romance 'confirmation'/choice obvious enough in quite a few romances, but Blackwall's is notorious for it haha Otherwise, you should be fairly safe (I think Sera locks you out quite early on as well?) - but if I were you, I'd make a decision on who I'd like the elven girlie to end up with and stick with it going forward, just in case.
Additionally (still spoiler-free), it is probably good to know that Solas is romanceable with Female Elven Inquisitor only (regardless of her class). If you do not plan to do another playthrough as a female Elf and if you are interested in Solas, it might be worth taking that into consideration. I romanced Cullen in my first playthrough as a female Elf (and it was a good romance) but since I wanted to romance Solas in my next playthrough, I had to play as a female Elf - again. Also a good romance. I would have swapped the romance order tho had I known about the restrictions in advance, just so I could change my race for my second playthrough. As a side note, if you want to make Cullen's playthrough extra spicy, romancing him as a mage is a *chef's kiss* because of the internal confict he (obviously, considering his past) faces - I personally enjoyed that a lot.
My first game I played a female elf who started off with Blackwall, ended things with him, and then moved onto Solas. You can all just imagine the emotional rollercoaster my Lavellan went through with those two.
Your reaction was AMAZING! That Cas and Varric and Solas abonded you was THE PLAN Haha, it was discussed like 5 min before. There all running away and you try to cause a lavine
Kiki, Leiliana's letter regarding Schmooples II, is the nug that she named after the original nug you gave her in Origins. It was bought in Orzammar's lowtown.
girl you called Corypheus before they even said his name was the ELDER ONE. First time i’ve seen that happen; i’m honestly amazed. And don’t feel bad about not saving everyone, i saved…. one guy in Haven my first play 😅 edit: AND THEN HAWKE??
don't forget to check in and talk to companions as much as possible in skyhold when you return from certain locations or finish major quests so you can further your friendships/relationships (and unlock their personal quests and scenes you might easily miss!!)
2:34:08 This is a reference to an optional quest you missed in Origins (ngl was low key gutted you missed it). In Orzammar you can find a guy who will sell you a nug to give to Leliana. She keeps it as a pet and calls it Schmooples (pronounced sh-mooples). The note here is an easter egg as a nod to show she's been keeping and breeding nugs on the down low ever since. One more reason Leliana is ace 😂
01:02:00 A moment of pity for all those poor players who were introduced to Dragon Age with this game. They had no idea the significance of this reveal.
You know I never realized that Chancellor Rodrick passed during the song....a redemption and the blessing of his faith's music. I think that's wonderful.
I have been waiting for you to reach this moment. One of the best quest lines and cut scenes ever in Dragon Age. Goosebumps, jaw dropping moments and never ending mindblowing scenes!
I love people getting to that whole bit between Haven and Skyhold...it's *so* good, honestly! I love watching it again! Impressed you called Corypheus so soon, but honestly you're pretty on the nose about those things, so i shouldn't be surprised! Don't beat yourself up too much about not saving everyone in Haven--it is super tricky! I only managed it once, after following along a tutorial AND having to restart once! I'm excited, but....😅 Mmmh. Let's just say there's a rough road ahead!! And I'm worried!!! But excited to see you keep playing!!!
This is what I mean! Your instincts are sooo insanely good. :) Also from one Cullen and Solas romancer to another, highly recommend sticking with Solas first and going Cullen in a different play through. Trust me
I love this episode! Because of this I was "SCREAMING" don't check The black emporium, in the description is his name (Corypheus) and I think finding out he is here like this was more pleasant. P.S Please make sure to talk with all companions before leaving the Skyhold.
Little tip for supply caches: they will give you a complete top up, so it's better to use all of your existing health potions (even if a character is only a little hurt) before using the cache.
2:35:04 Sh-Moo-Poles. If you romance Leliana in DAO, the first time you entered Orgzammar, and if you spoke to her in the Hall of Heroes she would mention that she thinks the nugs (Bunny Pig Creatures, as she calls them) were cute and she would not mind having one as a pet. The dwarf in Dust Town who had those nugs in a pen, if asked, would go outside the city and capture a partically large, healthy, nug and you could present it to Leliana as a pet. She named it Schmooples.
Hawke and Varric found the first piece of red lyrium in the deep roads. After Bartrand gets it, he betrays them, but I'm pretty sure thats just becauae Bartrand sucks. Varric was angry but not surprised by that act. Bartand sold the idol to Meredith, who forged it into a sword, BUT Bartrand kept a small sliver (maybe accidentally?) in his house, which gets all spooky and posessed during the time jump just from that little piece. Bartrand goes totally mad in that time. You can choose to let Varric keep the piece. So Bartrand and Meredith are our examples for what red lyrium does to people, but they were both rather batty to begin with and changed mostly offscreen.
1:!4:34 Actually, you can. But you must act quickly. Having Dorian, Cassandra and (since you're a rogue) Bull as your party helps greatly. Also, you need to concentrate on rescues while your companations deal with the templars.
Dragon Age Inquisition is the BEST in Plot and Plottwists!!! I mean, DA:O and DA2 did a good job in building the best Basis for the Plots! I cried SO MUCH with you this Episode!!! My eyes are EMPTY. I love SOLAS so much, the way he moves... the philosophical way he speaks... aaaarghhhh
I like how Vivienne has a more nuanced opinion on templars and the circle. Most mages tend to have the same views, 'templars are evil, the circle is evil'. But here Vivienne is going "Hold up, maybe there's a reason why people are so paranoid about magic". It offers a perspective we don't get to hear often. Plus I like how soothing her voice is whenever she says "Darling~".
@@lilianagonzalez700 I agree but she seems like she mostly defends it because she benefitted from the way things were before while being rather dismissive of the mistreatment some other mages experienced. I think Wynne was also pro-circle but seemed more motivated by the safety of mages rather than ambition. That being said, I do think Vivienne's ambition as an ulterior motive does also add to what makes her an interesting character...and I also find her voice soothing 🤣🤭
@@team151 Yeah, she's the kind of person who praises a violent police state because she happens to have ended up on top of the heap. She was raised in a gilded cage with the doors open, so she never felt any of the oppression that the majority of mages did. She's basically the "Lift yourselves by the bootstraps, darlings!" type of person.
@@snorpenbass4196 She’s not as rigid or unwavering as people say she is. For example, when you tell her “Mages should be in the chantry,” she greatly approves. Meaning she is open to, and admires, the idea of change when it comes to mages and their status in Thedas
I love how you cant read Schmooples. It is way long ago but you can give a nug to Leliana in Dragon Age:Origins, which she will name Schmooples and there goes Schmooples II, possibly from your Warden. Thus as you can see, the nug is super loved. With how Leliana is so dark, almost a husk of her DA:O self, that Schmooples piece of paper is so dear to me personally lol. Also, Oghren teased the f out of the naming in DA:O, he's like you named a NUG schmooples?! Also I think you missed one more paper in the rookery. There are actually two papers in the rookery which will always light up whenever you search. One is Schmooples, and one more is... well, that's what you missed. And it's amazing how you figured out Corypheus so fast!!! I also love how emotional you became during the events! I really love your DA playthrough and has been waiting for this episode for so long. Will look forward for more after this! And yeah, Corypheus lines are just so badass. And the way he said "beg that I succeed" since it feels like, "as the God's throne is empty, and I know you weaklings needs a God and I shall be that, rejoice for that" kinda thing.
I have never once got through the journey to Skyhold with dry eyes. 😭 It's SO GOOD! This part was just amazing, I think everyone was waiting for this quest, it's always so emotional. 😭
YESSSS This episode was WILD I couldn't wait for you to reach this point in storyline, and here we are~ I'm so happy you finally met Cole. He is an amazing character and I bet you will love him Skyhold is a huge place to explore indeed. Btw when it's cleared up a bit you will be able to reach Inquisitor's bedroom and change your current "home" outfit, if needed What I really love about DAI is how politics centered it is. It gives the in-game events much more nuance and depth imo. All these war-table missions, the way faith is discussed as a tool for inspiring masses, the mage-templar cituation and now the civil war in Orlais. Omg I love this game so much! Also, I enjoyed your reactions and listening to your theories. Your playthrough is amazing and I can't wait for the next episode!
Cole's introduction in the templar quest Champions of the Just (the opposite of In Hushed Whispers) is sooo much better than him showing up in the middle of In Your Heart Shall Burn. 😅
The Note abt Lelianas friends "Schmooples the Second" is a refference to a Dragon Age Origin Gift that you oversee. You could gift a NUG to Leliana haha. And it were in your camp then, make Nug noises and chilling. And it was called Schmooples. And now she got Schmooples the Second haha
this section of inquisition is one of my favorites! some of the best lines in the series from corypheus lol. I'm glad you're enjoying it 😊 also just a heads up you might want to be careful who you flirt with from now on because you could accidentally be locked out of other romances lol. Also i think most people had trouble saving everyone at haven i went back and retried it like 3 times before i saved everyone. but that's okay because storage! 😆
Funny on my very first playthrough I hadn't played Da2 dlc. Even though I played the game a thousand times so when Coryphyes was mentioned I was like "WHO". CRAP WAS HE IN THE DLC. NOW I HAVE TO BUY IT. " So when I played it. So much more sense.
Your new base needs upgrading. Merchant Val Royeaux sells home decor, just buy an item; bed, banner, drapery, then return to your smithy and the table " Customize Skyhold".
i’d like to suggest the order in which to do the next main quests if you don’t mind (i’ll try to do that as spoiler free as i can) so you’ll soon go to talk to this friend of Varric’s and after that you’ll have to go explore a new area for this quest, do that but don’t go complete the whole quest rights after (the part that requires power and has recommended levels, idk how to call it) instead do the quest with the empress and finish the other quest afterwards sorry if this is overly complicated i just didn’t want to give too much detail lol. i also can’t really explain why but i think it would be the most interesting setup given your worldstate
You should keep an eye out for weapon enchantments that give you "Guard on Hit." It will give your Rogue armor like Cassandra has over her health bar. It will make you far more resilient in the front lines
I'm so excited that you've reached Skyhold. If you haven't already recorded these quests, I have a tip: Complete "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" before you complete "Here lies the Abyss". I won't spoil it but you may encounter an Easter Egg if you do this 😉
YESSSS I'M CAUGHT UP! ❤️❤️ Much has been commented on your brilliant detective mind, and I gotta get on board that! Some of your predictions had my jaw land in the Deep Roads, as they say. I wanted to praise the heart with which you play as well, I love the care and empathy whith which you approach every character and situation, and how you share with us your feelings and inner train of thought. I also like how you've become more flippant and familiar with the series' excentricities and bullshit, haha It made me smile when you called Varric Cass and Solas your "mains", since they were mine too
incase no one has said it already but since the default skyhold outfit is ugly as sin you can choose from a variety of outfits in your bedroom near the throne!
The questions you have about your companions will all be answered eventually. Do the Arcanist war table mission as soon as you can, you'll meet someone you helped in Origins.
The hard part about romance in this game is that each of the characters have VERY different lock in points and flirting with others can lock you out. Im not sure which romances will be available to you now but it will be interesting to see what happens 😅
What. An. Episode. 🤛 Loved it. Also kept thinking you had a backwards cap on because of that headband and though: “she looks cool and somewhat 90s with those braids and the cap” 😅
Cullen is my canon romance, but the Blackwall romance is underrated. It's juicy, and he greatly approves of you telling him to stay in his place. He loves a girl boss 🤣
16:44 The expedtion took place roughly one year after Hawke arrived in Kirkwall. As for Bartrand, he always intended to betray you. He told Varric up front that he didn't want or need a partner. He wanted to keep all of whatever was found there to himself. The idol, which was made of Red Lyrium, just cemented it in his mind that he didn't need to share with anyone. That included his brother.
You might get lost easily but you sure are good at figuring out the plot in these games. I've never heard anyone before guess the Elder One was Corypheus while doing the mage quest. Even with Cole you noticed the mind reading. Saving the towns folk the first play through is very confusing. Once you know where they are its not as hard. Once they trigger you have to be onto it fast though.
From my understanding you give Bartrand too much credit. His madness was caused by the red lyrium yes, but his betrayal in the deep roads was just him. The madness came later.
Been looking forward to this episode in particular!!! Just now sitting down to watch :) I haven't really been commenting, but I've been really enjoying your DAI playthrough as I replay the game for Veilguard's release! You have SUCH an eye for detail and lore and I especially enjoy when you read the Codexes :) Basically I'm just trying to give a big THANK YOU for your Let's Play series haha, it's been a fun ride!
just a tip in case you can't stand the "camp clothes" they had given you bcause its a default, in your room there is a wardrobe with more choices... i can't stand that beigy green high neck oufit on my own lavellan 🤣
1:37 Actually, you also found some Warden stuff on the storm coast. You found some medals and documents in and around that cabin and up on the hill by the Astarium you had such trouble finding.
Remember that Vivienne transferred to a circle that WAS permissive and mages WHERE allowed to leave with permission from first enchanter. We had dragon age 2 which gave us the worst example of a circle. That’s what we know and apply it to all of them. But it isn’t accurate. Just like religious schools. Some you get hit on the hands with a ruler by a nun. And some you just have to remember Bible verses. Everything is not extreme
The battle for haven is my best soundtrack from the entire game For pre skyhold battles I find it's better to bring 2 mages. You need that barrier to be up a lot of the time if you're a frontline rogue. Arrows are safer early on. Now you're in haven, I'd do the specialization war table event early, get your build on quick. Also explore everywhere there's a door or stair to somewhere you need to go
My view of Vivienne is yes she is a bit conservative with her view on circles and mages. But she didn’t start out as a first enchanter with overwhelming privilege. She had to be the same as everyone else. Not a noble by birth. She had to be elected just as all first enchanters. So clearly she had the respect of other enchanters. But she managed to make her position a powerful one.
The song after the Fall of Haven is one of my favorite moments in the game!!! As for who to romance between Solas and Cullen, I'd personally recommend Cullen. It's super sweet! I tried romancing Solas during my initial playthrough as a female elf, and ended up just...really not enjoying it. I found it overrated, though I know a large portion of the fandom will scream at me for that. LOL! I went for the Bull and have no regrets!
It's so funny, I was a bit...blasé by the time this main quest got around. Ho hum, fight demons in the recently opened spots, do map missions, yeah yeah. Then... Epic after Epic after Epic. After this, I forgave any further flaws of the game. They earned it.
Three civilians and a Templar were not saved during the quest to Rescue the townsfolk then go to the chantry. I would Save game before heading to the gate. Perhaps reload and try again.
1:51:20 i think this may be one of the reasons people don't like Mother Giselle, it kinda seems like she's downplaying your and the inquisitions efforts by claiming all of these achievements are because of the Maker and whatnot
Haha, I do the same thing with Vivienne. Just kiss her ass when talking to her & agree with everything she says so she gives me approval but still make Pro-Mage choices behind her back😹😹
I don't have anything to say about the video, but here's a comment to feed the algorithm. \o/ Edit: Actually, I do have something to say about the video! Good job figuring out that you can just keep winding up the catapult while your companions distract the boss. I died there *so* many times when I first played. Not gonna lie; I was so frustrated by the time I eventually managed to win that I was in no mood to enjoy the story moments that followed. 😞 That scene with Mother Giselle is one of the more controversial moments among the fanbase. A lot of people love the scene, but for others it comes across as a bit aggravating. Not only is it an unskippable cutscene, but there's a sentiment that this is when Giselle is at her most manipulative. She immediately disregards whatever the "Herald" believes, seizing the moment to rally the inquisition as a religious movement. If your character happens to be one that actively distrusts the Chantry and its teachings, it can feel extremely out of place. 🤔 Thank goodness Solas is there to offer a more grounded commentary!
I thought it was cheap they brought back a villain we already defeated in a DLC. Good thing there was other stuff to do in the game as well as plenty of companion dialogue, a little too much. Looks like the main villain in the next one is also a former tdarkspawn mixed type except his time its one of the elven gods or mages. SO lame. Solas will be saved for the next one, if there even is a next one after veilguard.
"Pray that I succeed. For I have seen the throne of the gods, and it was empty." Is just the hardest freaking line.
I love his whole speech, sometimes I just watch it on UA-cam 😅
As an old-time Dragon Age player, seeing you getting emotional over Skyhold and the Dawn will come was such a joy! So glad you liked it!
Im so glad fiona is still alive and you have imported your save.... no reason whatsoever 😊

After every main quest or companion quest... You HAVE to speak to the companion that had the quest and everyone after the misson
2:34 You will see your love soon. He will stand above you, on a cliff, proud and strong, directing the scene and introducing himself. 😁
Your new base needs upgrading. Merchant Val Royeaux sells home decor, just buy an item; bed, banner, drapery, then return to your smithy and the table " Customize Skyhold".
i’d like to suggest the order in which to do the next main quests if you don’t mind (i’ll try to do that as spoiler free as i can)
so you’ll soon go to talk to this friend of Varric’s and after that you’ll have to go explore a new area for this quest, do that but don’t go complete the whole quest rights after (the part that requires power and has recommended levels, idk how to call it) instead do the quest with the empress and finish the other quest afterwards
sorry if this is overly complicated i just didn’t want to give too much detail lol. i also can’t really explain why but i think it would be the most interesting setup given your worldstate
The dawn has come, and you have no idea how much crazier it will get 😭
You should keep an eye out for weapon enchantments that give you "Guard on Hit." It will give your Rogue armor like Cassandra has over her health bar. It will make you far more resilient in the front lines
I'm so excited that you've reached Skyhold. If you haven't already recorded these quests, I have a tip: Complete "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" before you complete "Here lies the Abyss". I won't spoil it but you may encounter an Easter Egg if you do this 😉
Yeah I've already recorded a bit in a certain order to get 3 videos out for each week but for next time I'll definitely remember this 🙃
I've been waiting for this episode ever since I saw you playing Dragon Age: Origins xD
Select all, all your companions will attack the enemy you select, concentrate on the larger and very large Red Templars first.
YESSSS I'M CAUGHT UP! ❤️❤️
Much has been commented on your brilliant detective mind, and I gotta get on board that! Some of your predictions had my jaw land in the Deep Roads, as they say.
I wanted to praise the heart with which you play as well, I love the care and empathy whith which you approach every character and situation, and how you share with us your feelings and inner train of thought.
I also like how you've become more flippant and familiar with the series' excentricities and bullshit, haha
It made me smile when you called Varric Cass and Solas your "mains", since they were mine too
incase no one has said it already but since the default skyhold outfit is ugly as sin you can choose from a variety of outfits in your bedroom near the throne!
57:59 the disappoitment is so funny knowing what comes next lmao
I always side with the templars I completely forgot what these scenes were like with Cole at the door instead of Dorian lol
“That guy had no eyebrows” omg kiki your gameplays give me life 🥹😂
CorypheYES
What. An. Episode. 🤛 Loved it.
Also kept thinking you had a backwards cap on because of that headband and though: “she looks cool and somewhat 90s with those braids and the cap” 😅
2:15:31 Don't give up. Josie just needs a little time to settle in. She will be receptive after a short settling in period.
Cullen is my canon romance, but the Blackwall romance is underrated. It's juicy, and he greatly approves of you telling him to stay in his place. He loves a girl boss 🤣
I’ve been waiting for this one!!! Now the game has REALLY started! ❤❤❤
Kiki, you should aquire the Arcanist. The Arcanist will aid you in creating better armor and weapons (and upgrading them)
You might get lost easily but you sure are good at figuring out the plot in these games.
Dorian is my favourite character and my favourite romance
1:16:29 He was burning the entire time you were fighting outside and then you ran off to the tavern.
Been looking forward to this episode in particular!!! Just now sitting down to watch :)
I haven't really been commenting, but I've been really enjoying your DAI playthrough as I replay the game for Veilguard's release! You have SUCH an eye for detail and lore and I especially enjoy when you read the Codexes :)
Basically I'm just trying to give a big THANK YOU for your Let's Play series haha, it's been a fun ride!
just a tip in case you can't stand the "camp clothes" they had given you bcause its a default, in your room there is a wardrobe with more choices... i can't stand that beigy green high neck oufit on my own lavellan 🤣
dispel can kill demons before spawning , so if u have 2 mage with dispel u can get through the rifts pretty quickly saves u a lot of time
1:37 Actually, you also found some Warden stuff on the storm coast. You found some medals and documents in and around that cabin and up on the hill by the Astarium you had such trouble finding.
When leveling up your mages, take revival spell, at the bottom of the Spirit tree for every mage.
Gah! She missed an amazing flirt option with Blackwall! Oh well oh well 😆
Cole is my sweet angel baby
5:00 you have really good instincts, Kiki. Trust them 🙂
all the quests are just as epic as this not even joking
Remember that Vivienne transferred to a circle that WAS permissive and mages WHERE allowed to leave with permission from first enchanter. We had dragon age 2 which gave us the worst example of a circle. That’s what we know and apply it to all of them. But it isn’t accurate. Just like religious schools. Some you get hit on the hands with a ruler by a nun. And some you just have to remember Bible verses. Everything is not extreme
I was waiting for this episode ^^
The battle for haven is my best soundtrack from the entire game
For pre skyhold battles I find it's better to bring 2 mages. You need that barrier to be up a lot of the time if you're a frontline rogue. Arrows are safer early on.
Now you're in haven, I'd do the specialization war table event early, get your build on quick.
Also explore everywhere there's a door or stair to somewhere you need to go
Kiki romancing Cullen is the biggest character development in Dragon Age if it happens.
Kiki’s bingo card: ✅✅✅✅✅✅
With this episode you can see why this game won Game of the Year 2014.
I replay this part probably 5 times till i figure out, how to save everyone! I couldn't keep going...
Agreed
Moving ahead so quickly...
I don't mind, I'm here mostly for the story and character moments. The open world gameplay gets dull to watch.
I always tell vivienne that we need mages in the chantry. Excluding them has excluded their voices completely.
2:37:40 Once again, you're ahead of the game.
1:51:20 i think this may be one of the reasons people don't like Mother Giselle, it kinda seems like she's downplaying your and the inquisitions efforts by claiming all of these achievements are because of the Maker and whatnot
Haha, I do the same thing with Vivienne. Just kiss her ass when talking to her & agree with everything she says so she gives me approval but still make Pro-Mage choices behind her back😹😹
I think it would be amazing switch aroo for you to start romancing Cullen to be honest, what an arc
cole!!!!!!
I don't have anything to say about the video, but here's a comment to feed the algorithm. \o/
Edit: Actually, I do have something to say about the video! Good job figuring out that you can just keep winding up the catapult while your companions distract the boss. I died there *so* many times when I first played. Not gonna lie; I was so frustrated by the time I eventually managed to win that I was in no mood to enjoy the story moments that followed. 😞
That scene with Mother Giselle is one of the more controversial moments among the fanbase.
Cullen vs Solas romance I have chosen them both in difrent playthrough, but to be honest NO one can beat Cullen he is defently my favorite
SO lame. Solas will be saved for the next one, if there even is a next one after veilguard.
do u like boba tea
a lot of background NPCs don't have eyebrows and it really bothers me
