  • JOURNALISTS narrowly escape with their lives by jumping for cover just in time as a Russian shell explodes just inches away from them in this heart-stopping footage.
    The dramatic footage here was recorded by Chan Tsz Yuk’s GoPro. In an Instagram post, he said he was heading from Lysychansk into Sievierodonetsk with another photographer, Kaoru Ng, and a local journalist, Mykola Pastukh, who was working as their fixer.
    However, the three turned back towards Lysychansk when they saw some burning vehicles and thought it would not be safe to continue.
    They were discussing the situation with two Ukrainian soldiers when a shell landed close to where they were standing. After they dove for cover in a ditch, two more shells landed, Chan Tsz Yuk said. Pastukh was hit in the right arm by shrapnel.

    After the journalist was wounded, they hid in a ditch and did not know what to do. A Ukrainian soldier came up and said that two not wounded should put a screed as high as possible and tightened it tightly, and the soldier would cover them from the attack of the infantry, then he sent the journalists to the military medical the car and journalists were evacuated to the hospital, where they provided the necessary assistance. Everyone is alive, the main thing is the speed of applying the tourniquet ...

    • @christopherdrew6997
      @christopherdrew6997 2 роки тому +43

      It wasn’t applied? That would do nothing unless you screwed it so tight the journalist was screaming in pain from the tourniquet. The idea of it is to stop blood flow to a catastrophic bleed. Not put it on twist once and away you go.

      There is like no warning but seconds to react, it comes out of nowhere and obviously they are too close to the front line and the Russians know around where they are probably from their drone reconnaissance and the problem with shelling is it blows shrapnel every which way and that is why so many innocent people die from shelling.

    I feel so bad for the soldiers who have to babysit the journalists.
    Yes, I know, the journalists put themselves in places most people would prefer to run away from, but if you ARE going to be a journalist in a warzone, you should understand how to treat wounds. The soldier having to shout instructions for basic first aid was sickening - that is something the journos should have known and not something the soldier should have to expose himself in order to handle that injury.

Swearing began because no one was using medical supplements. In this case, the journalists had them, but were unable or unaware of how to use them. The injured man didn't even touch his hand. Maybe he didn't understand that the wound was serious, so he continued filming. And it seems to me that it was the injured who transported to the "tour" journalists.

      Yes, the soldier was brave, they all are (the soldiers). What irritates me is that the soldier had to be the one to explain how to aid the wounded journalist. Before entering a warzone, it is the journalist's responsibility to learn how to tend to wounds such as this BEFORE interfering with the combatants.
      The soldier was brave, but you could hear his frustration toward the civilian journalists for pretty much having to be babysat while arty shells were dropping in. The journalists laid there doing nothing until the soldier explained "use a tourniquet"... and all the while, the journalists had a tourniquet in their first aid pack, but didn't know how to use it without instruction.
      After getting wounded is not the time to learn how to use your first aid equipment.

    It's hard to appreciate the speed of an inbound projectile. Look how fast that was from the moment you can just discern the sound of an incoming round and recognize what it is, too impact. Almost instant. Hard to prepare a defence against something like this. As well as hard to find a point where you can even ever relax.
