Amazing, really helpful. Please more about this topic. I would even like to see video about different ways how to start and stop the tone to make listener interested (creaks, vibrato, runs, soft/balanced/hard offset...)
Hey Karyn, thank you for this. I frequently need to be reminded of being self aware and in the moment! Love the information and use of examples..uh oh! Cheers, Lin.😊
Ha ha! There is no guilt in that! I've been listening to the soundtrack for The Greatest Showman lately, and there is such an impressive array of onsets and releases - all different types and sometimes even 'mash-ups' of different types. There are no 'rules' when it comes to art. However, if that is the ONLY way in which you're able to release your singing tone, then you're very limited and need to explore different balances/approaches.
Please, I am trying to find a video where you had a lesson with a student who samg musicals and he was skilled so you let him go little above what his comfort zone was, you were focusing on releasing tensions in that video - that is all I remember.
Karyn, you're losing me. What's "stopping" or "starting" the singing tone? I'm not even sure how that phrase makes sense. Before you explain how its done, you have to explain what it means! Please help!

Yes! That's the plan, so stay tuned.

You're most welcome. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Love this bish
Is it possible to do a mash-up of the hard and soft release? 'Cos I think I might be guilty of both at times. o.o

How we start the tone is how we begin making sound (tone) and how we stop the tone is how we stop making sound (tone). Does that make more sense?
