In 2003, 'The Game of Their Lives' won the Royal Television Society award for best sports documentary, received a nomination for Best Historical Documentary at the Grierson Awards, a nomination for Best Documentary at the British Independent Film Awards, won first prize at the Seville Film Festival and the 2004 Refracting Reality Documentary Film Award at the Seattle International Film Festival.

Italy “lost” to South Korea in ‘02 the same way Roy Jones Jr “lost” to Park Si-hun in 1988 - corrupt officials. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but the biggest stains on each sport involve South Korea during events held in South Korea.

But North Korea did not won by chance, they really played better football than the Italiens. After the victory against Italy, they played against Portugal, also a very good European team. After 45 minutes they were 3:0 ahead, unbelievable! But then happened a miracle, the famous Eusebio scored 4 goals in the second half and Portugal won.

Plot twist: the entire team was actually sent to die in labor camps for not getting past the quarterfinals. These are all just actors.
