656 is 90% done. I got it and the 1066 cleaned up and ready to The Crossroads of Dixie tractor and engine show.

Mr Russ I absolutely love these two tractors. I have a friend who owns a 666 diesel, i refuse to run it, they all give me a hard time about it. I have a old 230 Farmall and a JD B. I love these old tractors, made the world what it is.

The show don’t officially start until tomorrow afternoon. We took the tractors up this morning and already a bunch there. I went back up this afternoon and I would say 150 tractors are there. Bunch more will show up Saturday.

Man that 656 turned out amazing!! Long time coming, but well worth it!! Finally the fender situation makes sense!! So does that reverser!! That 1066 is my favorite though, that thing is sweet!! A cotton picking tractor bought new by a man who didn’t need a Colton picker. When I was a kid it had a loader on it. Forward/reverse made sense on that.

So they put the forward reverse on the left side because it would be easier to hook up linkage to with the cotton picker on? And then on the other side what do you have? Just high low with one lever and then 1234 like a 1066?

Now high or low just 1234. This one was built for a cotton picker but never had one on it.

Beautiful tractors Russ. Enjoy the show and showing off your tractors. That 656 makes me miss mine I had years ago. Neat with the forward/ reverse lever since it was a cotton picker tractor. Mine of course here in Virginia was just a tricycle front but an early model like yours and no fenders because it was used with a mounted corn picker. Thanks for sharing.
