These videos are just so good! It isn’t just simply Slot Car‘s but it’s a history of racing to boot in the scale detail of those old cars are tremendous! You mentioned it racing was beginning to lose interest because of the faster and faster and more powerful cars, even Slot Car rating is getting into that with cars are so fast you can’t even see them down the track. A lot of HO Slot Car guys are enjoying the throwback cars from the 60s and 70s called thunder jets. No magnets, small tires and extremely racing abilities needed. Gotta have a video of seeing them running on the track! 😁
Excellent videos! Best regards to Jimmy. He is not only knowledgeable in slot car racing, he is an all around connoisseur on racing and cars. He is a gem.
Why thank you Ruster! I'm glad you enjoy learning info that affected auto racing thru my life time. Please go back and share the video with your friends, and don't forget to subscribe my friend!
Man I love this I’ve loved slot cars since I was a kid Since I’ve been old enough I’ve been collecting any old broken track I can find This gives me such inspiration to scratch build my track for my son and who knows who else

@@jimmyattard1446I have watched every video and I’m truly amazed at the depth of detail of the track and layout. Also I’m amazed of the amount of cars you have built and collected. Yes Calvin, you are absolutely correct. It is a Monza and I said Vega! Yet another slip of the tongue. I seem to have one somewhere in each video. Thanks. Good catch.

I've noticed in all your videos that there are No F1 race cars. I know it's not too American, most of the F1 drivers today are EU, IT, SW, AUS, GER. etc, etc, etc drivers. Anywho, another great story on scale racing and thanks again for letting us into your basement!

Hi mate. I’ve just been thru all your videos on your uncles slot car tracks. Great stuff. I tried to contact him via the website but it’s not allowing comments or email? My question is is his track also to scale? I’m going, finally, after many years of collecting 1/32 scale cars (although my best handmade cars were stolen recently) to make a track as I have a lot of room under my house but I want it to look to scale and be set in a Monaco like city suburban diorama. I’m thinking if I scaled it to 1/32 of an average lap time at Monaco instead of trying to layout hundreds of feet of track it might look/feel about right. Any chance on getting Jimmys thoughts? Pls tell him my wife’s family are from Slima😁 Gafinti Tiba Grazzi from Oz❤ ( I know all the best swear words too haha).
The swear words don't surprise me Eddie. Seems that as pious church people as Maltese are, our parents didn't hold back from a curse or two if the situation called for it! I'm really happy you are finally designing a track. Connect with me at jimmyattard1@gmail.com. It's easy to over think your design. The number 1 thing I can advise is work to get as much track into your given space. Don't put so much emphasis on trying to mimick your favorite track. That will limit you. Designing on computer or paper is good fun but you will have even more fun drawing it out full scale on newspaper right over the area the track will be. You will be able to get the very maximum amount of track into that space by doing that. Then after all the fun tweeking the design, use the full scale paper track as a template to trace onto MDF and cut it out. Nothing beats stepping back and seeing it in the space you set aside for it Ed.
Eddie my track is pure 132nd scale everything that I do I make sure that I keep it in 132 scale ...but understand that a mile Racecourse would take up three times what my track takes up so you need artistic license and you're reducing the actual size of the track ...but as far as scale figures and scale scenery you keep that at 1:32 scale and you will succeed.
Jimmy, do you have any cheetahs by any chance? One of the HO groups I’m with was talking all about them and the heavy influence that Chevrolet had on them. Everybody was surprised that we thought they were a European make.
Yes Brandon, I have a black Cheetah. It was an American car for sure. It did have a Chevy engine. I think they actually only produced 2 or 3 of them. They raced in different colors so it seemed like there were more of them made. I think it was so hot in the interior that the same cars changed owners frequently.

The one car is actually a Dekon Monza.
Yes, the one Uncle Jim called a vega
