Oh my word, why should I stumble across this vlog unguided?! Having said that, my second daughter emigrated to Ireland in September 2021 along with her husband and three children. After 18 months in Ireland the bought themselves a home into which they will move soon. I will share this vlog with them for I am sure they will enjoy.

It didn't feel like a lot when you are going through it but when you watch it back - it was a lot 😅
Thank you for following along in the journey! We are excited to be bit more settled!

Buying a home in Eire was a 9 month process for me but was worth the wait and I am closer to Cork now which is "home" for me!

That is so lovely! Glad to hear that it's all worth it - definitely days in the process you want to pull your hair out 😅

Welcome to the weird and wacky world of Irish planning permission, guys. It’s no bad thing sometimes to wait until the right option for you comes around.
In other news, myself and my gf are heading to NYC next month and have already cogged a few of your recommendations. Many thanks! 😂

This is true - good things come to those who wait!
How exciting about New York! I had the best time and cannot wait to go back!

Hey guys, I've been watching the show and the FAQs a lot lately since I'm planning to move out on secondment to Ireland. Im guessing Dublin is the favorite when thinking cities to live in. However, what do you think about places like Galway, Cork, Waterford? I'm also in audit and want to use the time there to save as much money as possible.

Juandre, all the cities you mention have their own particular charm. As the capital Dublin has more services and attractions, and accordingly it is a lot more expensive. Waterford is unfortunately too often overlooked, has a slightly warmer climate than Dublin, has many attractions and facilities, but is considerably less expensive than Dublin. Galway, is very wet, double the rainfall of Dublin, and although less expensive than Dublin, Cork is still quite pricy.

      Hi Juandré.
I agree with Paul's comment! I haven't personally been to any of those cities (yet) but have only heard good things!
      Good luck with your move!

This is so subjective - but we love living in Dublin! From some of our exploring of Ireland - all parts of the country have their own charms though 🤗

I think young people fail to realise that buying a house is a 20 to 30 year process and that your salaries will be increasing all the time. What seems daunting now will be easy in a few years.

I agree with this - but doesn't make it any less daunting for any first time buyer when they are going through it. But definitely know it's worth it!
