I recall battling the Lepus so much in mobile Terraria, even having made a trap system for it there, so imagine my surprise when I revisit Terraria on PC years later only to find out Lepus is mobile-exclusive
you forgot the main gimmick of the lepus . the one that made it so so memorable to new players. it was so early game that it coundnt even pass throu walls, but he could duplicate. so scared new player could hide in a house from thir first boss. but the whole world in a few minutes would be overrun by lepusstorm. some of my earliest terraria memories are hiding in a house while map showed around a dosen of them outside.
When I played terraria and Lepus was in the game, I tried to fight him. Never could kill his dumb looking ass. Also never found the suspicious looking eye or looked anything up so the only other boss I fought was Skeletron. That didn't go well.
Honestly, I feel like ocram could've fit perfectly as a pre plantera boss. Leaving it at the interpretation that it's an entity your character creates to grow stronger by pondering and mixing the 3 items that summon the mechanical bosses. Give it a new attack pattern, an identity, and it'll fit perfectly in the game. Also, who else remembers the old sprites of the dragon, titan, and spectral armor? they used to look so bad before they got reworked lol, good video though, corruption over crimson!
Lol, I think ocram would fit nicely between planters and golem as initially he was a post golem boss so I think it would be nice to have a homage to that
All this time we have had a mechanical version of the Eye of Cthulu, Skeletron and the extremely spiffy Eater Of Worlds, and yet we still dont have a mechanical Brain of Cthulhu. How??? BoC's design mustve partly come from Ocram. They're both big flying eye-brains with what looks like a mouth, they both spawn small minions and they both have 2 phases where they look enraged. (A lot of Blah Blah Blah yapping ahead) I know the class emblems that drop from the Wall of Flesh have nothing to do with any of those bosses, but for a long time there was only 3 emblems until they added the summoner emblem as 4th for consistency and balance. Well for a loooong time we've had 3 mech bosses, so isn't it time to add a BoC version as the 4th for consistency? Souls Of Blight could be brought back as its specific soul drop. Why not use most if not all of Ocrams visual design, and some of his attack design for the mecha version of BoC? You'd probably have to rename him which is a little unfortunate imo, but then again maybe the name could be kept. I do have a silly name idea tho... Brain-Ram, or Ram-Brain. Ik it doesnt sound very creative but i have some reasons for that name: -Obviously it has parts of BoC and Ocrams names in that name. -Like both the BoC and Ocram, along with nearly every other boss in the game, one of its attacks would probably be it trying to ram into you to deal dmg. Literally the BRAIN would RAM into you. -The boss is a mecha robot thing. Ram is a computer thing irl. Makes sense right? -If it would be able to make copies of itself like regular BoC, charge into you, shoot ichor-infused lasers, teleport, AND summon minions (which would probably also look robotic) that would try to use both melee and ranged attacks on the player, it would require actual BRAIN POWER to take the boss down without using op equipment, at least until you learn its attacks well enough ig. Ocrams normal visual design does look a fair bit different from BoC, but considering Skeletron Prime has spikes on his head, 2 extra arms, and none of his 4 arms have regular hands like his non-mech version, the mecha BoC wouldnt necessarily be expected to look like a robotic exact copy of the regular BoC anyway. Behaviour-wise, yeah theyre different, but i can easily imagine Ocram teleporting around, or BoC shooting lasers from its 2nd phases eye. Might as well combine them imo. Theres a bunch of weapons and armours that could be added, especially IF this mech boss would be seen as a post-other mech bosses type enemy similar to Duke Fishron, and maybe even post-Golem. Perhaps it even requires using the Mechanical Eye, Skull and Worm in its crafting recipe, similarly to original Ocram when he was in the game. Maybe its an optional boss fight just like Duke? You could use the Souls Of Blight that it would drop to craft along with some amount of Fright, Might, Sight, Dark or Light Souls, and Chlorophyte Bars, Spectral Bars or something along those lines. This way, they could bring back the Tizona, Tonbogiri, Vulcan Repeater with Vulcan Bolts, Sharanga with Spectral Arrows, and ofc the 3 armour sets - Dragon, Titan and Spectral. The armour sets should each have 2 versions of themselves i think. An old one as vanity with no stats, and a new one that has updated stats and visuals, but still has the same name. (I think they already were made into vanity sets, but ive heard they got removed more recently? I might be wrong). Either the vanity version OR the functional stat-having version of each armour set should have the word "Ancient" or "Forgotten" in its name. An Ancient/Forgotten Dragon or Ancient/Forgotten Titan set sounds cool. The name "Ancient Spectral" would need some work tho lol. "Forgotten Spectral" doesnt sound as bad, but i still think it isnt great. Each of the items would need to be updated in terms of looks, stats and functions, and a summoner equivalent armour set would need to be added. Im thinking it could be called "Ancient/Forgotten Wraith"? Idk man. Would need to add a mage weapon and summoner weapon, probably along with some accessories for each of the 4 classes too maybe. My point is i want Ocram back, and i also want a BoC mech boss for consistency, so im trynna do 2 things at once with this idea. Ik this is a lot of text but ive been thinking about this for YEARS lmao. I used to play on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, so Ocram was my version of Moon Lord for ages man, and they really just went and deleted him and his items like it was no big deal :( I THINK the devs said Ocrams design wasnt really the type of thing that suited Terraira... Like, what does that mean?? The moment i saw the eye of Cthulhu for the first time, i pretty much knew to expect weird and wacky enemies and bosses. Especially when comparing Ocram to the other bosses i had fought by the time i was able to fight him myself. Ocram didnt seem out of place to me at all, except for his hitbox. That thing felt a little odd. Seriously tho. How does a flying brain-mouth-eye thing that summons minions, not suit the game, and yet a more pink coloured flying brain-mouth-eye thing that summons minions, DOES suit the game? Was it the lasers and scythes? Or did they Not-Want-To/Not-Know-How-To rebalance his items to make way for Moon Lord??? Blah blah blah il just finish this book now. Just wanted to vent and rant tbh. Also nice vid ty
Funny enough, I kinda wish for them to return in vanilla as event bosses (with tweaks, obviously) Also, while ocram is a neat boss to me, since he was kinda meant to be a final boss in his original debut, to me his kinda meh as a final boss compared to moon lord (Though my favorite boss will always be queen bee, I love bees)
The thing i love about with Lepus is that he duplicates and gets all out of control.
Yeah, especially if your dps is lacking very fun boss, if you haven't and you have a decent pc, try out consolaria trust me.
Corruption over crimson
Ocram is corruption coloured, so Arthur well played.
Of course brother
Factual
Ngl kinda wish they added lepus and turkor to the psvita version since that's what I started with and I would've been able to experience them

We love old terraria

I didn't mention it on mistake but yeah he could destroy new players if they weren't careful

Didnt know there were 2 other removed bosses outside of ocram
The other two were tablet and 3ds exclusive, so it's alright if you didn't know, lol.

Keep up the good work spiffy
Thanks spikerino, have a nice night buddy
I think these bosses would do great in the base game if changed a bit to fit its current version, that would be so cool!
Yeah then we could have 27 bosses which would be fire
Funny enough, I kinda wish for them to return in vanilla as event bosses (with tweaks, obviously)

I do hope they add the content again in the future, it's such a waste to let them go.
True
W Lepus
No shot is that the mythical memester!!!!!!!!
@@SpiffyEaterOfWorlds ye.
