Been playing Bass for about 27 years now, especially the last 23 years, which have been with a 5-string Electric J-Bass. I've done a few adaptations to Big Jake, my last J-Bass, to improve sound, sustain & playability. Now he travels with me regularly accross Spain, to visit my sister, who lives in a Center. The ladies who take care of her, all say that she's a brilliant singer! And when I visit her with Big Jake, she knows she can recall old songs from the '50s onwards, adapt them to her own range of voice, & this Black TomCat (that's what my spanish surname means) can play that deep 5-string Electric Bass. I still remember The Wombles, but never knew them as a Musical Group. It's funny what things you learn, when you're nearly 50 yrs old! If I saw them now, instead of 45 yrs ago, I'm sure I would be able to learn lots of practical tricks from them, to share with my friends! "..pick up the pieces, and.. make them into something new; that's what we do!" I think this very principle, is very important; encouraging people not to be so wasteful. Keep on with it!!
