@@Opedanderson Yup, The Rock just went to Miami when they were a NFL factory line. That D-Line had so many future superstars, he just couldn't displace them as a full-time starter. But he was still good, just not at THEIR level
The Rock was second string behind Warren Sapp… he could’ve made it too the NFL but he had back injury problems
Just shows how well respected Jimmy is in the beautiful history of the sport. It was not just the NFL, it was college too. He truly impacted his players on both levels.

Well said Giants man. As a lifetime cowboy fan. The year he started w cowboys they were winners in preseason and the I saw every play of every game in 89. So bad they were. To go from there to after super bowls was amazing. I think that team was maybe greatest team ever except maybe those 85 Bears. They were bigger stronger faster than anyone. Absolutely! He's one of the most highly respected men in all of sports, not just football. From the University of Miami to the Dallas Cowboys he made football a more exciting sport to watch.

I loved the tough as nails Jimmy Johnson who as Coach of the Cowboys laid down the law and refused to tolerate or accept losing or anything less than excellence.
But I'm also touched to find out these last few years that that's only one side of Jimmy Johnson, and that beneath that hard as nails exterior was and is a caring, generous and very human human being.
He said in one of those shows, A Football LIfe, or 30 for 30, I don't remember, that he actually didn't like being that guy. He did it to win, but that's not his true nature.

I am a life long Washington (NFL) and FSU (College) Fan and I just think the world of Jimmy Johnson. I would love to meet him one day and just tell him thanks for making the game better. Coach Johnson is finally getting these much deserved honors and it’s awesome to witness.

I am a DIE hard Steeler fan, but a lover of football first. Many years ago, my father and I got an opportunity to visit the Cowboys stadium and get a tour. We met Coach Johnson and he was truly a class act (even after learning of my loyalty to the Burgh). Congrats Coach!
Man I been a cowboys fan my entire life. I love Jimmy Johnson so much. I think he was the reason I enjoyed the Hurricanes growing up as well. Wish he was still coaching or the general manager for my Cowboys. Great football mind, but an even better man!
I went to Miami v SD St. I think it was 91 or 92. Marshall Faulk was hurt and Michael Burrow, Jesse Armstead and Darrin Smith surrounded him and were talking mad trash to him right in front of us in the end zone. The game ended in a big brawl! THE DAYS!

As Jerry is getting older, I think he knew the right thing to do was let bygones be bygones. Jimmy deserve to be in that ring of honor decades ago. Everyone knew it, but Jerry’s ego wouldn’t allow it to happen.

As a wrestling fan, Rock just seems like such a humble and genuine person. He’s transcended the buisness and is one of the few pop culture mega stars wrestling has produced, he always said his dream was to make the NFL & loved football dearly so to see this is very heartwarming.
