I love that she has the slightest shadow of Julie Andrews in her voice and delivery. Keeps the tradition going. Who could resist singing along like it was an old record in 1960
Never heard Andrew Burnap before: such expressive heartfelt singing. And that clarinetist was really enjoying the music! This is a special recording. Thank you
I had the pleasure of watching Richard Harris perform this live. But until now I didn't realize there was an actual melody to the male part. Ha ha! But seriously, this is a wonderfulllllly talented cast and orchestra!
All these negative comments, my goodness! This cast is phenomenal and bringing this song perfectly to life. All the people comparing them to other casts, well...if you prefer other casts, then go listen to them and stop with the negativity! Let us enjoy the beautiful performance by Pippa and Andrew!
@@janbarrett4544You make a good point & REGARDLESS of what ANYONE THINKS OR SAYS……This Camelot cast are on BROADWAY 🎭 AND THEY ARE KILLING EVERY NIGHT & DAY!!!! So………🤷🏽♂️
What does THIS simple folk woman do? I watch all of these amazing performances from our current cast of Camelot!! Sure bring a smile to my face when I need it!! 😊Bravo 👏👏👏Such delightful performances from the orchestra as well!! Thank you so very much for sharing!!! ❤️❤️👏👏❤️❤️
Phillipa Soo and Andrew Burnap have very nice voices. Nice to hear since some of the Broadway performers I’ve heard lately can’t hold a tune. There’s hope, yet.
Recently, I've noticed a decline in the singing quality of national tours visiting my city compared to the early 2000s. I think that acting and dancing have improved though, so I suspect that musical theater programs may be emphasizing those aspects over singing in the past couple of decades as this new generation of actors take the stage. I admit that as a retired opera tenor with a masters in vocal performance, I may be a bit critical on other singers, but the disappointing singing I've heard from the leads on various national tours within in the last 5-6 years led my wife and me to stop our annual theater pass and only go to shows we really want to see even if the singing isn't that great.
2:33 is my ringtone. Not this version; the original from 1960, but these two do an incredible job (all the little quips were golden) and absolutely hold their own.
I love the performances and also the engineering! What a superb recording session for these songs. Oh, also, the video is excellently shot, highlighting the perfect angle at every moment.
Thank you including the Black woodwind player. According to my father, in my father’s and grandfathers’ days, Blacks folk were not offered the easy jobs in the studio orchestras.
The whistling part seems to have added a few lines in there somehow. 🤔 The versions I'm familiar with, he doesn't say anything, at that part. He just stared. Oh, the part about her singing voice. 😀 "I meant, as relative to your whistling." One. Could not help laughing at that. Two. That's what I thought he meant. 😀

I also hear the echo of Julie Andrews in Phillipa Soo's rendition. Andrew Burnap; has put his stamp on the role. Bravo!.
Philippa has a beautiful voice. And her diction is impeccable.
Never heard Andrew Burnap before: such expressive heartfelt singing. And that clarinetist was really enjoying the music! This is a special recording. Thank you
I think you may have meant the oboe player lol. He was the one really getting into it and moving all around.
Phillipa sounds AMAZING and so does pipa!!!
What a treat to watch the conductor and orchestra at work.I especially like the woman conducting...she seems so happy at her task!
Their voices work so well together, I'm obsessed with this cast!!!
Yes! I expected Phillipa to be amazing, but Andrew Burlap is also wonderful as Arthur.
They are wonderful singers and the music is very good...but I miss the old story with magic and the sword in the stone.
She is phenomenal. In every way. Witty, beautiful voice and moving.

Phillipa is just flawless as always ❤❤❤
As always 🫶
This song is simply charming
This orchestration bounces so well, I love this stuff.
Beautiful performance, audio recording, and video. This brings back memories of my seeing the London stage version in 1965.

YES!!!!
All comments are worthy and should be expressed...nobody is trying to ruin your enjoyment of this cast.

I have a lot of favorites, but you're right, this cast is good.
Gorgeous voices! I can hardly wait for this cast album!
This piece is so good. The melodies and funny tongue in cheek lyrics are great. These two do a great job.
Loved this song! Wanted them to sing it again immediately after it was over lol

These two are magic. They nail it.
And the orchestra nails it as well.
@@davidbertrand895: The orchestra is superb!
Julie Andrews & Richard Burton would be proud.
They absolutely are

Beautiful you two.
MY FAVORITE!!!! I saw it at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood upon release.
She does have "a very pretty singing voice" :)
her voice is lovely
AWESOME!! Both voices amazing.
Got to see them in person! My first ever broadway show and it was amazing ❤
I thought it was amazing also and it's going to be hard to top this one in pure beauty.
No doubt a question accomplished Broadway performers must ask themselves from time to time walking the streets of NYC. And elsewhere.
i bought this album in 1966 and played it over and over i still know every lyric and every song
December 29, 2023. I WILL have my Life complete if I see Camelot once more before I pass. 1967 on...

Realmente increíble... sin palabras.
Bravo
I would love to hear her sing Fiona in Brigadoon! 😘
The movie is still the best. Richard Harris will always be Arthur to me. I saw him at the Warner- 3rd row center in 1982. He was spell-binding…
With Fiona Fullerton?
Good for you

Hey! The lyrics rhyme!
Wow.

The new lyrics do not improve what is already perfection.
One of the few songs on the album where I actually liked the rewrites and didn't find them at all jarring. Great voices and orchestrations though.
This guy is better than Richard Harris
Great renditions, would be better if the King and Queen had English accents 😂
