I always knew you were a kind gentleman. Many chaps would have come from a different place had they been on the receiving end of a bump. At least nobody was hurt.
Can’t wait for a year of viewing! From memory I’m sure the rev limit triggered with the clutch pedal switch. Dip the clutch a couple times and you should get it over 3k at a standstill hope this helps 😊
Well done Al and fudgy another great video just shows how much more complicated engines have got over time and not necessarily reliable lol great to hear you are all ok and looking forward to seeing the diahatsus my friends dad used to sell them new! Sorry to hear about rolling thunder and hopefully will soon be fixed and on the road glad everyone was ok All the best to you all Daniel
Poor Hi-Lux. All those Norwegian Mooses it must have avoided for that to happen! You will rebuild it. You have the technology. How on Earth you keep track of them all, mystifies me! 👍
Great to see you both back together. Glad you and the lady were both okay, just goes to show oldies are the best and safest. New treasure. Looking forward to Sunday 😊
Manually lift the speedo needle and see if it revs. Something from the memory mists of time tells me there was something I worked on that had to see the actual speedo needle lift from zero rather than see the signal that actually lifted the needle before it cancelled the stationary rev limiter.
Was astonished how well the Reliant went for on da bay :) I might sell mine O.o Was running a bit rough on the tickover as the damp and wet got into the leccies but a good spraunce with some WD and its running like a champion again, got to take the dizzy out to change no 2 spark plug but I will paint pen a mark on rotor position and dizzy position, great little car but I fear my after market seats are getting near their end so looking for a set of grey leather MX5 tombstones. Bought a brand new stereo for it yesterday... £5.09 ebay, plays MP3's which I shove in its hole on a micro SD card, also got to replace the rear seat 6x9's and install a set of undershelf fronts to get some decent sounds :D
Al thank you For another excellent video happy new year to you and fudge and I hope it will be a good’n , this video was right up my alley with the ecu frigging and wiring most excellent thank you again very informative guys !
Great video Al and Fudgy.!! Least Rolling Thunder will be a lot easier fix than that Audi. Looking forward to seeing the videos on the Daihatsu trucks.
when you said about fitting the older style cable pedal if you get it working please update on it as idd love to try make the newer one work in the vw lt and early sprinters and great job on cutting the loom down .
I think you've taken out more wiring from that Sprinter loom than is in an entire 2CV, which is scary to think how much copper is used in modern vehicles just to make them run, never mind power things... :P
Al & fudge take it from an Aussie .... You don't need a $1,000 bumper unless you come across a hundred 🐂 or cows or 🐫 , so you with the dolly to bring it back in to shape & fudge to spray paint it's Bob's your uncle and Fanny is your aunt 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant as always Ale , now am I seeing things or have I lost the plot. Did I see a sprocker called lance and a Cj and a big grey ambulance called amber ??
You said a while ago that it was electronics that writes modern cars off after 5 years. If this video didn't convey that message, I don't know what will. The amount of stuff you managed to delete from that wiring loom was mind boggling! Engineering not electronics!
bit of a coincidence, misses was drive home day before yesterday in our 60 plate volvo xc90, lady pulled out and gave a glancing blow to the drivers side bumper corner, pushed misses up onto curb. bumper popped, scuffs, few cracks, wheel arch trim scuffed, plastic headlight has a cut across it. other driver admitted liability. got a cash payout of what i nearly paid for the car. its due a radiator, so when i do that i will give everything a bit of wt and dry, then a buff and should look 90%. we agreed on a payout within 2 days.
Maybe the nice lady could sell her Audi to (don't mention his teeth) Rob and Chris. Amazing work on the engine swap. Will you tell us what the Reliant achieved on ebay?
Those Hilux's were built to last, only rust that does them in. A crash is never nice, more so when it wasn't your fault, but everyone walked away and your pick up took the least damage.
go through her insurance, they will probably offer you a cash payment to quickly settle. im sure you know what the repairs cost, just in case they try to low ball you.
At "17:07" looks spaghetti bolognaise😂 revisited good luck Al with that birds nest ❤
Might that lovely Daihatsu van be a future Raffall prize?
I always knew you were a kind gentleman. Many chaps would have come from a different place had they been on the receiving end of a bump. At least nobody was hurt.
Nice big Toyota truck as well
Proper Aussie Roo bar for the Hi-Lux. Nice.

All that work on the wiring loom would have had me running for the hills 😂. Genius. Looking forward to the next installment 😊
Poor Hi-Lux. All those Norwegian Mooses it must have avoided for that to happen!
You will rebuild it. You have the technology.
How on Earth you keep track of them all, mystifies me! 👍
lol I do struggle some times !! Clearing down I’ll have you know !! 4 gone this week 👍
Another year of top notch 6d Diesels spanner wielding 🔧and yet more mazing projects begins! Brilliant stuff as always Al and Fudgy!👍👍⭐⭐
Top Gear couldn't kill a Toyota ... Audi are just amateurs at it ... pleased everyone was ok, and you're a true gent fella
Wow, what fun you have.
Great to see you both back together. Glad you and the lady were both okay, just goes to show oldies are the best and safest. New treasure. Looking forward to Sunday 😊
Did I see Project Amber's ex ambulance Sprinter and his dog Lance at 24:31?
Definitely Lance .
I thought it was Project Amber, Lance and a quick glimpse of CJ with his flat cap
That was CJ and don't forget lance!
Yes indeed you did 👍
Humble, funny, and very talented. Great vid chaps.
Cheers fella that’s very kind of you 👍
If you are going to ram a pick-up and want a favourable outcome Al is definitely your man. Keep up the good work men.
Nice one, Al. Looking forward to the Daihatsu show this weekend - intrigued to find out the cunning plan to stitch the serviceable parts together...
well done Al great content👍
Another great video, I get the impression you like using the throttle just a little bit too much.
Manually lift the speedo needle and see if it revs. Something from the memory mists of time tells me there was something I worked on that had to see the actual speedo needle lift from zero rather than see the signal that actually lifted the needle before it cancelled the stationary rev limiter.
Worth a try 👍
Morning Al great video poor ol rolling thunder 😢 but it will look rather snazzy with the new bumper 😅
What a great guy you are Al. Somebody hit your moter and you are so cool about it. The world needs more people like you. Cheers
Another great video Al and Fudger 🎉🎉
Welcome back to the new year, Fudgy & Al.
Yes nearly 7k!!! Mans even called Dave
Get an ABR front bumper nicest ones for them
Oh no the Heelux has suffered a flesh wound. Looking forward too Sunday.
Hi al and fudgy, that was like the doctor frankenstein of vans when that sprinter was running when in bits. 😊
That Audi would be ideal for Rob and Chris. Modern stuff does shatter abd bend doesnt it? Another quality video.
You need to be intelligent to work on cars, no wonder people dont want to work on older cars anymore, great video Al.
Well back guys
Genius fantastic work 👏👏👏👏
That transit had an easy life the tipper body looks to be in real good condition to what they usually are
Yes it’s really low on the miles, it’ll make a really nice truck when we’re finished 👍
Al thank you
For another excellent video happy new year to you and fudge and I hope it will be a good’n , this video was right up my alley with the ecu frigging and wiring most excellent thank you again very informative guys !
Good video Al, rather you than me , wiring etc not my favourite job , can’t wait to see the Toyota repairs
Great video Al and Fudgy.!! Least Rolling Thunder will be a lot easier fix than that Audi. Looking forward to seeing the videos on the Daihatsu trucks.
So you are a magician, I think you could make a remote controlled vehicle, great video
Great video guys!
Nice work there Al shame about the rolling thunder But it will be fine unlike the Audi 😂😂😂
when you said about fitting the older style cable pedal if you get it working please update on it as idd love to try make the newer one work in the vw lt and early sprinters and great job on cutting the loom down .
Is that CJ and his ambulance in the background?!
Indeed it is, don’t forget the solo spaniel appearance 👍
Hope the lady owner of Audi Q7 become a subscriber? 😁
Entertaining and educational update Al and Fudgy. The home of cunning plans.
The boys are back in town
So Glad nobody was hurt except the Hilux's pride. Great transplant Idea !! 🙂
Welcome back, chaps
really cool things your doing there 🙂
can't wait to see you give those diahatsus some love! 😁
They are really rare these days hopefully we’ll come out of it with two good ones 👍
@6DDIESELSDorset 🤞
Shame about the Hilux, good excuse for the new bumper! Look forward to seeing it fixed
Ah yes mk7 Transits! The look on your face says it all
Does PIMP MY RIDE come to mind with the Hilux Al. I'm sure you said something like that to me.😂
I think you've taken out more wiring from that Sprinter loom than is in an entire 2CV, which is scary to think how much copper is used in modern vehicles just to make them run, never mind power things... :P
Nutters!! well done!
Just shows how much unnecessary wiring & other odds & sods you can remove from a modem engine & it will still run fine!
Rolling Thunder is a bit bent and these Toyota Hiluxes are tough as old boots and the chassis is one of the strongest ute chassis ever made
I’ve not seen so many F20 & F50’s
That'll buff out
Al & fudge take it from an Aussie .... You don't need a $1,000 bumper
unless you come across
a hundred 🐂 or cows or
🐫 , so you with the dolly to bring it back in to shape & fudge to
spray paint it's Bob's
your uncle and Fanny
is your aunt 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Hilux sustained «a mere flesh wound» 😉
Brilliant as always Ale , now am I seeing things or have I lost the plot. Did I see a sprocker called lance and a Cj and a big grey ambulance called amber ??
Yes indeed you did fella, CJ and Lance are here for a few days sorting the big sprinter for new mot 👍
Hey up boys, cracking video as always, Al where did you get your safety boots from?
They are the most random eBay buy last year I’ve never seen another pair like them 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset tidy they are Al!
You said a while ago that it was electronics that writes modern cars off after 5 years. If this video didn't convey that message, I don't know what will. The amount of stuff you managed to delete from that wiring loom was mind boggling! Engineering not electronics!
Poor Hilux at least it is fixable
Another great video has always al and fudgy and mrs d and mrs fugdy 👍
Ah she’ll be fine, if anything it’ll look better than it did before 👍
😂👍
bit of a coincidence, misses was drive home day before yesterday in our 60 plate volvo xc90, lady pulled out and gave a glancing blow to the drivers side bumper corner, pushed misses up onto curb. bumper popped, scuffs, few cracks, wheel arch trim scuffed, plastic headlight has a cut across it. other driver admitted liability. got a cash payout of what i nearly paid for the car. its due a radiator, so when i do that i will give everything a bit of wt and dry, then a buff and should look 90%. we agreed on a payout within 2 days.
Hilux indestructible 👍
I could be there 20 years and I'd never figure out the wiring 😮
Theres a 504 pickup on eBay at the moment too😮😮😮😮
Yes it belongs to not economically viable on UA-cam , I’ve got a bid on don’t you worry . She is very very rotten though 👍
Say hi to CJ and Lance.
Can't wait
did I spot project amber in the back ground?
Indeed and don’t forget lance 👍
Poor helux. At least nobody was hurt.
Ah it’ll be fine and yep couldn’t agree more 👍
Wouldnt it of been easier to just buy a black smoke stand alone ecu ?
Nope 👍
A Dihatsu-fest coming on - yeah! And a Doof walk on and flop - what’s not to like, oh yea, all that redundant 111 wiring - mare😮😊
Sad to see hilux like that but she come back better than even with the Aussie bumper
Your mics aren't on Al
Love watching the informative stupidity ….. with all that wiring we should be calling you professor Al
I’ve got a headache🤣❤️
It a Toyota it will still go what ever happens 😂😂
Ah it’s fine all the parts are here now to fix it 👍
eat your heart out clarkeson a bettter example of what a hilux can withstand
Not as many bits as her Q5 😂
Maybe the nice lady could sell her Audi to (don't mention his teeth) Rob and Chris. Amazing work on the engine swap. Will you tell us what the Reliant achieved on ebay?
👍😎
Looked like a VW rather than an Audi to me...same difference...
Those Hilux's were built to last, only rust that does them in.
A crash is never nice, more so when it wasn't your fault, but everyone walked away and your pick up took the least damage.
Yep I recon the hilux won, the poor lady’s truck did t come off very well at all 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset It is clear who won. An excuse to modify it and build it up better, I would do the same in your place.
The ladies Audi looked like a Volkswagon to me! 🤔
Never …
That’s a VW Touareg isn’t it? Suppose it’s the same car just in a different dress!
Yes indeed 👍
go through her insurance, they will probably offer you a cash payment to quickly settle. im sure you know what the repairs cost, just in case they try to low ball you.
We don't want anymore customers work he says , CJ and Lance lurking in the background , hmmmmmmm ?
He’s sorting his own wagon, just borrowing a spot for a few days 👍
Project Amber
Blimey someone’s got a dam good eye 👍
@6DDIESELSDorset well he's brought it to the right place to get it fixed
AUDI another useless driver inside 😂 glad everyone's ok
Nice to see fudge back 😀
Shame about the Land Cruiser's broken nose.
After being rescued and repatriated, welcome. oooof audi...
:o)❤
First?????😂😂😂😂
We are running rather late on upload today it’s all been a bit manic
