Great, thanks for this share. P&M Records released 3 CDs with this great man's recordings. One of them called 'A reverie in Esraj' had this track and Madhyamad Sarang (Tabla Debashish Sadhukhan, Tanpura Mousumi Sadhukhan, recorded in May 1988/Switzerland concerts). Another CD has Miyan Ki Todi & Tilak Kalyan. Third one has Miyan Ki Malhar.
This was, I believe, recorded by me on a Sony walkman cassette recorder, in Basel. The afternoon concert was hosted by the Indian Association of Basel. Little did I know that I would be listening to this recording of the legendary musician so many years later! If I remember right, he played just the alap, jod, jhala of Bhimpalasi, then proceeded to play the bandish in Madhumad Sarang.
Bhimpalasi is my absolute favorite raag. Brings back a lot of memories. Dhanyavad.
A few gems were discovered after they left us. Many were short-lived. God does not keep them here for too long
I learned from Late Sri Ranadhir Roy. I think my guruji is the best Esraj player in the world so far.
You're good as well Takashi, I have enjoyed your playing as well
ラッキですね。ライブで聞きたいです。esraj見たこともない。
Don’t think. It’s the truth that nobody felt esraj like your guru
Running water, resting horse, galloping horse, diving falcon, spiralling hawk, meeting of hearts, heart light and beyond.................
It's called a masterpiece 😌😌
One of the greatest esraj player of all times perhaps.
Undoubtedly! And what a beautiful instrument too!
So missing talented gentleman...tru sound of Esraj ....Baot atcha
Darun, sara rat ak swapner sagore jano vaslam.
