Garlic-Butter-Cheese Stuffed Prawns | Pan-fried Stuffed Prawns

  • A good, lucky purchase of these giant prawns and I just knew what I wanted to prepare! These Garlic-Butter-Cheese Stuffed Prawns are just oh-my-God delicious with their captivating aroma and the dance of flavours upon the tongue. And the best part- it's easy! I've demonstrated the cleaning process for the prawns which might help anyone who's new to cooking this crustacean.
    The stuffing is Butter based and that melts when heated. The cheese helps keep the elements combined, while allowing the prawn flesh to soak up the wonderful flavours of Butter and Garlic!

    Ingredients:
    Large Prawns (Tiger Prawns)
    Salt
    For the Stuffing: (this was sufficient for 6 jumbo Prawns)
    6-7 Tablespoons of Salted Butter
    6-7 large Garlic cloves, grated
    Crushed Black Peppercorns, as needed
    Red Chili flakes, as desired
    4-5 Tablespoons of Fresh Coriander, finely chopped
    4-5 Tablespoons of Grated Cheese (I used processed cheese)
    Some grated Cheese for the top
    A dash of Black Pepper, finely chopped Red Chili and Coriander for garnish

    I had purchased some jumbo prawns and was looking for a lovely recipe and this is sooo so delicious looking. Having lived in Panjim for a precious part of my life, and also being an Anglo-Indian, this is the recipe which appeals to me and it's so nostalgic. I can imagine sitting alongside the bambolim beach where we lived and eating this 🤤 Oh! Miss those days 😢

      Stuffed prawns are quite a popular dish, just the ingredients used may differ. Plus, usually I've seen them baked. Very true, it is an indulgent dish! But would do well for special meals💐💖

      Not necessary as the pan was covered and with the steam the prawns cooked through.

      Ah, that may be a concern given the size of the prawns, but usually 4-5 minutes should do it well, since the flesh cooks pretty quickly. And covering the pan also allows for good deal of heat to be generated within 😊

      Florency has cleaned and de-veined the prawns very well. What is left is the roe and it’s a delicacy.
