And remember viewers that a used module cannot be installed on these vehicles , only new. Or you can choose to send yours out for repair as long as you've done adequate research. A new unit will require programming as well. If you choose to have yours repaired most places don't overwrite the vin or mileage so it should just be plug and play after reinstalling. If it does not start with your original unit turn the key to crank position and release the key , leave it like this for no shorter than 10 minutes , turn key off and retry. Nice video Richpin hope you don't mind me adding this . Cheers
NLA/Sir, 2007 ION ( My Mothers). 84,000 miles. Dash lights started flickering, Gas gauge not working, RMP up and down, no Speedo. Many vids have suggested new/used BCM. Will need to flash they say. My Question is,... with not caring what a used BCM displays as concerning mileage... why could a used BCM not be installed ?
Grand Daughters Ion stopped running. Changed ignition switch did the relearn but no start no crank still. I found your video on this after the fact wish I would have seen before tackling mine! very informative. I have a question about the last small plugin connector (purple and orange wires) you removed . Mine a 04 Ion does not have anything connected to that. Do you know what that powers? Am i supposed to have something plugged into it? Also the problem I'm having is there is no 12v power to the ING SW 2 amp fuse even after changing the bcm. I guess it must be in that mess of wires going to the bcm. Suggestions?
I have a 2007 Saturn ion that the gauges are not working? None of the gauges. I checked the instrument fuse and that’s not it. What could be the problem? Thanks for any help.
Looks like a nightmare to remove. How are you supposed to remember all the wiring harnesses you disconnected to get the BCM out? Definitely not a job for a rookie like me.
CP240sx in general the wiring harness connections are pretty specific so you can't really do it wrong you just have to make sure they're all put back in is all. Take some care in dismantling and moving them around so as not to break any wires from being too forceful and you should be ok.
O' my god is there a video on how too put back in so many wires I Am going too ruin my car is this same as a 2003 Saturn Ion Mine needs too come out 😯😕😞

Ahhhh no kiddin!? I would have thought the 30 min relearn would have got this up and running. Learn something new every day :)

Did you get it sorted out?
If you replace your current BCM with a new one, does it require any kind of programming? Thanks,

Yes they are.

Exactly what he said looks pretty easy too get out just putting wires back scares me
Great video Rich. thanks for putting it up!
If you can’t use a salvage one because it needs programming to that individual car, wouldn’t a new one need that too ?
Thank you and God blessings mane , 🙏🙌❤
You are so welcome
Good video!
