i've seen this a few times with a dorman sai valve. if i get a 5 volt reference code on a vehicle that's the first thing i check now lol! i also had a gm sai valve bad out of the box with a bad pressure sensor
Oh my gosh, really? That's quite interesting that even on an older car a bad part can cause a no start. I'm back from Germany so it's time to figure out why my truck on return from NY has two failed fuel injectors at the same time. Note: Hiway 86 has potholes so big my mirror came off the windshield!
I need to get me some of them thar brains ... 😁 Dorman strikes again! I hate to admit this in public, but I just installed a Dorman cooling fan in a PT Cruiser yesterday. The low speed on the OE unit was nuked. The car is on it's last leg (literally), so I'm hoping it'll be in the boneyard by the time it fails. I may be asking WAY too much there! 170k on her - she's seen better days ... and those weren't the best cars to start with. This thing comes in at least once a month for something new every time. I know one thing .. I HATE working on it. Not a single part on that engine is simple to extract. Even the stupid fuse box cover is an ordeal, wedged underneath the master cylinder! 🤯 Great vid Keith - keep 'em comin'. 👍
Are the Vespa's still around ? Nice fix on the Saturn and zoning in on the 5v ref. At least Dorman have the courtesy to display their badge of dishonour on their products, alerting the tech to a problem. Aftermarket products are not trustworthy.
Keith, Thank you for that video - I always learn something from your channel. But I admit to being a bit confused here - was this a crank/no start due to the 5V fault or a no crank/no start from the 5V fault causing the fans to run and running the battery dead? Thank you God bless Paul
I have an 06 that I did a trans swap on and now the ignition wont release the key and when I hook up the battery it instantly turns on the starter any help would be appreciated
I have a saturn 2000 it turn on it runs n when I turn it off it just drained the battery the alternator passed n the starter passed soo idk what's the problem
Sm Ms honestly its not even one I would recommend. There is a floating voltage range to it that is a constant failure and this is the replacement for the first that I purchased .

Welcome home... you're driving too fast if you can't avoid the potholes! I'm guessing you're still adjusting to the slower speed limits! LOL

TRY IGNITION CONTROL MODULE AT A JUNK YARD - $40. I FIXED MINE WITH A PONTIAC PART, THEY TOLD ME 5 OR 6 YEARS AGO.
