That guy may not have wanted to sell this guitar but when/if he sees this video, he's going to realize he made the best decision in the world for this guitar. Its such a breath of fresh air to see these guitars come back from the grave.
The 1980 Dean V. That was me that sent the Dean, before we started the Falchion project. I bought it from Kevin Gill. He was the monitor engineer for Pantera from the Power Metal album era through Cowboys From Hell, and then the first half of the Vulgar Display tour. He bought it from darrell in the Power Metal album era, when he worked as a sound guy at The Basement in Dallas. The guitar had made the rounds with many bands in the Dallas area, and Kevin ended up with it a second time. After Kevin came home from the Vulgar tour, I traded him a new Jackson for it just because of the history of the guitar. I used it on two albums and playing clubs in Texas, then the headstock got broken somewhere around 1996.
Following your Explorer saga closely; I just finished modding an LTD EX-50 and got inspiration and tips from your work. It was my first project and although it didn't come out perfectly, I learned a lot. Thank you!

I have one of those LTD black explorer “lawsuit guitars” that I bought new in 1998. It’s my favorite guitar to play - I hope you bring it back to factory condition ;)
Funny thing about 80's deans. They all come with the rumor that it belonged to dime. I used to have an 81 dean ml. It came with that rumor. It had a mark on it where a beer bottle had been opened on it and gouged the wood. It took the perfect shape of the edge of a beer bottle cap. It was well played and well loved. But of course there's no way to prove it was once dimes. I ended up trading it for a massive overall loss. Kinda don't wanna talk about it. Lol but you live and you learn.
Definitely would prefer the axe in white but you did a great job!

I watched the Ibanez Star update video and was going to comment asking about the Explorer. Came home from work and here it is! I have that exact same LTD Explorer, but in left-hand. Mine's black, and in regard to your question about colour - if you only have one ESP/LTD Explorer then I think it has to be black. But if I got another, I'd probably paint it white. But black is classic and what James Hetfield used the most in the MX-250 shape
I'm a wood grain guy. Maybe a trans-green quilted top w/creme or white binding.

I’d love to own a white MX250. I’ve grown more found the white finish over the years on an explorer, especially the way it pops on stage.
Was hoping you’d make it a replica of the black checker plate version from the ‘I disappear’ music video.

Silver burst or satin purple would be cool does the extra primer make it heavier?
Can you turn bolt on to set neck? Is it possible? Also, another ltd logo (eclipse style) to the end of the headstock, not in the middle. Gloss black!

If it were mine and my choices, I'd try to make it look like raw redwood. Completely faux finish, of course. But I've never seen a raw redwood guitar for obvious reasons, therefore, I want it.
Take a blowtorch to that beauty! It would look great burnt to a crisp!

Whatever you do....DO NOT put the LTD logo back on the headstock. Put the ESP logo on.....make it a HETFIELD.
