Just a heads up to anyone looking at the mx master mouse, you could get either the original or series 2 or 2s for much cheaper and they are basically the same with exception to some features like switching between devices without using the bluetooth switcher etc. So have a look at those and the features they have / don’t have and see if they are better value for you. Its an amazing mouse.
What is a desk accessory you would recommend for someone’s setup?
Any cable management tool as you can have the best setup but still it will look bad just because of the hanging wires.
Wrist rest. Especially if you want to make it feel like you are used to typing in a low profile kb.
A desk shelf to help raise the monitor and add additional storage space

i agree, mechanical keyboards are overhyped. i’ve had 3 and don’t get it. the sound is fucking annoying and i’d rather type on my grandmas keyboard

Look into low profile mechanical keyboards. Keychron also makes one. It’s the best of both worlds.
