    The 'crucifix' was the first ‘painful’ pole move I learnt as a beginner 🥵
    I'm curious to know... What was the first ’painful’ pole move you learnt? Let me know :D

      I was able to get Crucifix after only a few tries/couple weeks but the Jasmine has been SO hard for me...Struggling with it for at least 2 mos now but finally starting to get it. We all have diff strengths and weaknesses. That message at the beginning really hit home for me (and I'm sure many other polers). Ty for the reminder

      @@BlinkyB23yesss!! I was the only one in my class struggling with Jasmin! I still struggle. I was in so much pain that first class I physically couldn't try it again and I was covered in bruises for weeks!

    The first 48s of your video had me in tears, cos I've been poling for a year now and I still feel like I can't get most beginner tricks right cos I have really sweaty palms and I've tried so many different types of grip + I'm not the most flexible. But I felt inspired hearing you say that 'pole dancing is a marathon, not a sprint'. It's so true that you can't enjoy it when you put too much pressure on yourself. I love your videos so much, keep creating!

    THANKS A LOOOT! I’ve tried this move once, and I couldn’t even figure out how to squeeze my legs right… Your tutorial helped me, and the next class i made it on first try! 😍😍😍 Also I’ve learnt 2 more of crucifix variations, the straight one, and the folded one. It was all because of the right leg gripping

    I love these videos!! I really was trying to find someone who does consistent beginner videos because I’ve had a pole at home for almost a year and haven’t done much on it. Thank you!!

      hahahah, story of most people who have a home pole!! I'm passionate about beginner tutorials! It wasn't long ago when I was learning them and I certainly know how confusing, hard or frustrating it can be! Is there any particular move you are finding tricky at the moment?

    You know I love that message at the beginning! Also, it's super interesting that you learned the Crucifix with your torso wrapped in front of the pole. I've only ever been taught it with my torso behind the pole! Your version looks super pretty though, so I'll give it a try!

      ooo that is very interesting! You know, now that I think of it, the crucifix is behind the pole. This is a variation!
      Yes, do try, it will look so gorgeous 😍 I'll keep an eye out on your videos for this sneaky crucifix appearance 😂

    This is an amazing tutorial. Loved that it was more than just this is how you do it. That you showed a bunch of the difficulties that people can encounter too. So awesome. Now to go hunting for a layback tutorial like this. Have you done one?

      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  2 роки тому +1

      Yay! Thanks for saying that 😄
      Yes sure! I love this move actually, and planned to include it in a video to come! Do you mind sending a picture or video on here for which specific variation you want to learn (I just saw there's a few types).

    • @PoletatoJemPoleDancer
      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  2 роки тому +1

      Also, in the mean time, do you feel like your foot is too slippery?
      If so, try to make sure it's dry and try positioning it higher up the pole (it should feel like it's pushing firmly into the pole and by placing your foot up higher, it will increase the pressure :D Your arms will be pulling you into the pole and your leg will be as straight as you can make it too). Let me know how it goes!!

    • @saintxio
      @saintxio 2 роки тому

      @@PoletatoJemPoleDancer thank you! Any variation would be exciting to learn. But the one where both feet looks pressed to parallel to the pole or at least makes a triangle is the one I've seen alot but can't seem to do

    Initially, I got this move straight away but was slithering down tonight when attempting it. Not sure whether to attribute that to my greasy lunch, tonights nights leftover chicken dinner or simply being out of practice / 🤷🏾‍♀.
    Generally, at what point would you suggest progressing from static to mostly spin mode?
    I want to use spin more when transitioning but the dizziness has me reaching to switch back to static after 5 minutes!

    • @PoletatoJemPoleDancer
      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  2 роки тому

      Hahaha, was it perhaps your grip? It can make a huge difference! When you are warmed up with slight sweat on your legs you tend to stick to the pole better.
      Static and spin pole have both very different sets of challenges. At the studio I’m at, we only use spin and it’s the mode majority of studios use in my city. So you can switch from static to spin whenever you want because here most of us start as beginners on it! In the video I mentioned some tips in the ‘problem’ section that might help you reduce your spinning speed so you won’t get as dizzy 😂 definitely was a struggle for me starting out! Hope it helps 💕

    Your video was great but so still can’t get the crucifix
    Clearly climbing into doesn’t work for everyone
    It’s a frustrating move and I remain totally unable to grip despite climbing into it , descending into it , pretending I need to pee , letting go and regripping , straightening my legs . That’s the problem o find with pole - being shown how to do something doesn’t always work
    It works for the person who is showing you but not for the student

    I was at pole class on Wed and can climb no bother but I don’t have grip between my knees to keep me up there. I keep sliding down and therefore can’t even get as far and taking my hands off the pole. So frustrating!

      @@PoletatoJemPoleDancer probably yes… I’m guessing you mean does it have that ‘clammy’ quality? No. I don’t apply lotions or anything before class because I’m afraid of slipping more. Dry Hands works for some
      but not everybody. There are lots of grips out there. If you go to a studio, try out grips others use. One of my teachers swears by glycerin on her legs: works for me, too, but you have to wash your hands really well after (don't want it on your hands!). Another applies a lotion that has beeswax in it on her legs (again, not her hands) about 30 mins before class. Enviro Grip is my choice for my hands. At the moment, I am using glycerin on my legs but the search is still on for the "perfect" leg grip. Haven't tried shaving gel yet, though.
      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer Do you have a video on various grips already?

      Hello! Yes yes, I love them so much! They are so comfy and have lasted a long time.
      They are from a dance store called Bloch. My dancer sister got them a while ago so I’m not sure of the exact type. But I found very similar options below for you to look at:
      US Store
      bit.ly/3Eun1mS (looks a tad bit shorter than mine)
      AUS Store (free international shipping on orders over $100)
      bit.ly/3Ev8eYT
      AUS Store (only ships to AUS or NZ)
