I know this isn't music related.... but can we take just a second to appreciate these dresses?!?!?!? So gorgeous.
In my opinion, the best PMJ performance ever. A perfect arrangement sung beautifully and emotionally
Sara just throws down every damn time, never lets me down.
Just superb, I'm speechless.
I was a young man when this came out. You did a real fantastic job on this, sends chills, Thank You! Wow
Wow that was excellent. Sara's voice is just purrrr-fect.
Thank you so much!
Oooh! PMJ and Sara Niemietz - a match made in heaven :) Thanks guys - sounding awesome as usual
Thanks!!!!
Sara Niemietz
I wonder if the singers have to bring their own outfits, or if Scott Bradlee just has a gigantic wardrobe
Those Divas have closets full of fine dresses!
I feel like that dress wouldn't look right on Scott....
@@TwistedCat :
BRILLIANT. ROTFLMAO
@@TwistedCat
🤔
Isn't Scott more of a Fall?
Scott is clearly a Time Lord. The videos are all shot in different parts of his TARDIS, which has quite a wardrobe. Also explains his fascination with different time periods of music.
So beautiful song and my favorite singer!
That is the first time I've heard her....how very powerful. Great arrangement of one of my favorite songs!!
They took an upbeat, cutesy, somewhat shallow bubblegum pop song and turned it into a soulful, beautiful, heartbreaking love song. What.
edit: alright people i keep getting replies from fans telling me off for dissing cheap trick 😂 lol i wrote this 3 years ago and honestly I don't even remember writing it or what I was thinking at the time but i got the message you can all stop now 😅
I disagree. They took an up tempo rocker and turned it into a snoozefest.
Coco Lime bggf
Turned into song of deep longing for love unrequited
@LagiNaLangAko23 if they did that i'd hope they'd include "gangsters paradice", 7 National Army" those two would also fit noir style.
Nailed it. It's what PMJ does. What a glorious treat to the ears and a sizeable amount to the eyes.
I came here for Sara Niemietz and at the same time found the best cover for a song I really like :)
Liked the original-absolutely adore this version! Sara gives it the meaningful emotion that the original lacks. Beautiful rendition.
it sounded like this is the original version! great cover!
this is incredible! And it is 💯% ukulele free.
excellent in all ways...
I can't stop listening to this. I am enjoying this channel overall but this song is by far my favorite. Thank you!
you had me at "sara"
Hi there! :) Thanks!
I danced to this "first dance" at my wedding :)
I wish I could give millions of likes ... just amazing...
Love this version
Just lovely for multiple reasons: compelling and beautifully sung and played.
Just beautiful.
Круто!!!
Просто по русски, молодец!!!
Aaaaall the feels
Sara is just brilliant on this and many other songs. I think she has a new album coming out in October (2020)
this is like soul distillation..
She has such a strong voice for how she looks. She's so thin and small, I would have expected a deep, full voice like that. Impressive. :D
esta interpretación es la onda!
Even though I twisted my ankle right now. This sounds beautiful.
Y'all nailed it, yet again! I LOVE these trans-genre masterpieces!
This hurts my soul a lot. But my ears like it a lot, so w/e.
Aw thanks.
That was truly superior to the original and I thought that the original was truly awesome!
O
Incredible 👍 WOW 🙂
This is so much better than the original. Only way good enough to sing this song
So you see your highschool sweetheart in the store across the street. You see her picking out the ice cream flavour she used to pick out for you. You couldn't believe she was still the same after all these years. Her hair still the same shade of brown. Her eyes still that piercing blue. And that takes you back to when you ran in the hallways of school, her hand in yours. Running from detention, from your problems, running from your days.
So you ran, ran across the street to get that second chance. When you see her walking out to the front of the store you're ecstatic. Suddenly all the regret you held on was let go.
Then you see the new love of her life walk up to her and take the groceries. Kissing her on the cheek.
Then it hit you.
How foolish of you to still want her to want you.
Man, oh man.
I need that dress, hnngghhhh Dx
sooooo pretty
This song has such great lyrics. Nice use of language, if you hear what I mean?
😍
I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me
I'm begging you to beg me
I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me
I'll shine up the old brown shoes
Put on a brand new shirt
I'll get home early from work
If you say that you love me
Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you crying?
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you crying?
Feeling all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dying
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you crying?
I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me
I'm begging you to beg me
I'll shine up the old brown shoes
Put on a brand-new shirt
I'll get home early from work
If you say that you love me
Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you crying?
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you crying?
Feeling all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dying
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you crying?
Feelin' all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dying
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you crying?
I want you to want me
I need you to need me
I'd love you to love me
I'm begging you to beg me
I want you to want me
I want you to want me
I want you to want me
I want you to want me
you also hear the jingle of the bracelet on her hand
seems like Major from Ghost in the Shell got over the existential terror and found her calling in singing and being a pure ray of sunshine
i luv U
The crying in her voice, they are like little fireplace crackles are so mesmerizing...
The like button is not enough.
"Little fireplace crackles" is now a way I can finally describe something I didnt even know I had feelings for
true blues, man
You summed it up! She is like Amy Winehouse morphed with Etta James. Hope she gets the recognition she deserves!!
she turned it into a torch song.
it sounds like when a man loves a woman
1. Saw that there's some new Sara Niemietz on PMJ.
2. Dropped what I'm doing during a busy day at work to listen.
3. Felt better.
4. Considered getting back to work.
5. Listened a second time.
6. Refused to regret loss of productivity.
@Rhu Bot wise choice, let the beans count themselves for a change the world has too many sprockets, cogs and widgets anyway lol.
alphamale292 I found the one 90-year-old on UA-cam haha
7. Get a HUGE thank you from Sara!
Thanks for stopping what you were doing to watch this!
not as cool when what i was doing was studying :D
May you continue to be a corrupting influence for years to come!
This blue version makes the song more meaningful.
She's not just singing it. She's living it, she's breathing it. What an astonishingly talented artist.
Not saying its not a really good performance but she's not living it, shes acting it, musicians are taught to sing (project) outwards with their body language for the audiance rather than inward like you or I may sing it. I really like PMJ but I do find some of their singers a little too cabaret
@@simondurkin2487 Can you be too much cabaret? 🥴🎶🗣🥀
@@simondurkin2487 watch her hands, she's a fucking musician. learn to play and you will have a clue.
@@simondurkin2487She may not be living it, but she is certainly feeling it. From many years of singing, I can assure you that to sing this song in this way, if you don't feel it the whole thing goes dead.
Oh man, Sara, you NAILED this one. You're dependably awesome. :)
Wow! Thanks, Shawn! Loved singing this one.
Agree with you :)
It was also my favorite of yours Sara. Loved seeing you live in Brussels last year! Fantastic night and so glad I brought my date. ^^
That dress is beautiful! I'm seriously never one to notice things like that, but holy crap that is amazing!
My first impression too
And the colour of the dress matches perfectly with the guitar :))
I´m gonna make a dress like that before 2020 ends :O I`m loving it! (follow steampunkgoblin on Ig to see the final piece).
A stunning dress. All of the colors in the video are very rich so I wonder if it was that stunning in person or color post-processing on the video.
Masterclass in style and presentation accompanied by excellent talented people
When the like button just isn't enough.
Mastering suck i think. Let ur mic off dear master :(
I knew there was a blues number locked in this song just waiting. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to pick my jaw up off the floor.
Lucky you, I've got to scrap the flies out of my mouth!
This is just the desperation this song needed. DAMN.
Thanks, Cal!!! It's such a special tune.
Great word for it, cal... it transforms the light fizzy kinda whimsical original and the movie covers into a desperately passionate piece
Hit the nail on the head!
Exactly, so emotional and raw. Love it! It's my favorite PMJ song.
@@SaraNiemietz I keep coming back to this song .... weekly. I have three favorite singers with Post Modern. One is fun and sexy. The other is just raw power. And then there is you ... you just simply emote what ever you sing and draw us in.
A Cheap Trick cover?! Bless you, bless you. It's the cover I never knew we needed.
It was a cheap trick, but it worked :p
So much right here...
Great song
Great arrangement
Great vocals
And that dress is FIRE
This is the best, most heart wrenching version ever. A soul crying out for love. How can anyone not love this? She's turned this cheezy pop song of Cheap Trick and made it a powerful blues song about what we all need.
I love how nobody is trying too hard, they all shine the right amount, allowing the entire piece to be the spectacle, not any individual
"Play to fit the song." :>)
Hell of a rendition. Great job by everyone involved. I really liked how defeated she was by the end, that kind of "I need this, man" deflating really sold the whole song.
Another great performance from Sara!! Google Snuffy to learn more about him, too
You can find this on iTunes here: smarturl.it/pmjwantyou
PostmodernJukebox all of u are frkn awesome...love all ur songs...deff alot of baby maker melodies
You are all so amazingly talented, Love the style of music!!
she’s the best.
Her version is simply heartbreaking. I have felt this way so many times in my life. I love PBJ and they way they change it up and Sara's voice is simply incredible.
Wow! Thank you.
Peanut butter & jelly?

A Cheap Trick torch song? The absolute best PMJ cover, which is saying a damn lot!
Use her more. Her voice is amazing!!!!
Thanks!
Ruth Anderson I totally agree!
I just came home from their concert and she was in the set up - loved her so much on stage!
Totally agreed.
Common more subscription for this lady singer please.
I’ve always noticed the lyrics to Want You To Want me were so much deeper and more heartfelt than people realized due to the song’s upbeat, pop tune. If you slow it down you can tell it’s actually a heartfelt love song, this cover accentuated that so perfectly.
sounds very much like something Patsy Cline might have done and that is very much a good thing!
Aw she was amazing! Thanks.
Jarrod Roberson I could see her covering Patsy 's songs!
He's right you know. Grew up listening to Patsy, with the whole Nashville sound/Bakersfield sound and such...you done did good. :)
Jarrod Roberson n
*Snuffy Walden,* the cat rockin’ the guitar in the back, is an Emmy winner...
his "animation" at times > Joe Walsh. . JS
in a well tuned HT, excellence all around
Is that GE Smith?
Not a hack on his playing, but anybody that plays on a song or album that wins an Emmy gets an Emmy.
eharphyde Emmy for writing! Look at the credits for music on West Wing, Thirtysomething, etc!
@@eharphyde You're assuming. The Emmy was for the titles music to The West Wing, as composer
Such strong and beautiful voice! Amazing melody as well. Well done :)
Thank you so much!
Sara Niemietz I agree, great performance. but why the noisy earrings and bracelet? sadly very annoying ...
Jonas Becker Seriously dude? Grow up. This isn't 1955. If the visuals bother you, do us all a favor and close your saggy wrinkled eyes.
It's not visually noisy. Clean your ears. Her bracelet and earrings are loud as hell. Every time she moves it's like a miniature tambourine that's playing off beat.
Hah! it's like Glenn Gould humming from old recordings :) (in a bad way of course)
This cover is absolutely beautiful!!!!! Omg 😩❤️ ITS FELT!!!! not just SUNG...
I love how the man at the guitar is feeling it. So nice.
Calle Reekstrøem not any man - Snuffy Walden - pretty phenomenal guitarist
Old enought to remember the original when it was first released. I thought that it was quite powerful, then, when I was a youth. This has so much more feeling. I'm amazed. Some of these post-modern reworks don't quite work, in my opinion, but this one is sublime. Thank you.
remember it then too. didn't like it then. love it now.
too much noise back in the day hid the song's power.
I really think Robin Zander would love this!
That was not the voice I was expecting from looking at the singer. Very rich and powerful. An animated performance that was quite engaging, although the audio from the dangling jewelry was a little distracting. Big fan of the performer and rendition.
"Accompanying percussion by: Jangly Bracelet"
@@FuryOmega 😆
Don't care about the jewelry...her performance was very distracting...in a good way.
Oustanding as usual Scott. The addition of Snuffy was perfect. Sara was fantastic.
Thanks so much for checking this out! Snuffy is the best!!!
Sara Niemietz holy crap. you did it all. that was huge. I'm still recombobulating over here! haha :D
Sara Niemietz Pure awesomeness in a box!
I love this more than the original, I love your cover please do more with Sara, keep doing what you and the band do best.
Thank you so much!!!!!
Yes, way better than the original. Simply Beautiful
I've watched so much PMJ, and never seen - and especially heard - this one. Holy %$*@, this is so, so good!
I thought the exact same thing. I dont know how i could have missed this gem for so long?!
even "so good" is not enough. Really hidden gem
Damn. I'm not normally one to re-watch/listen to things, but I've came back to this video at least a dozen times since it came out. Such a flawless composition and performance. Gets me every time.
When I say listen I mean sit down and just focus on the song and nothing else.
WOW! Thank you so much for coming back!! I'm honored.
The honor is all mine. You just keep doing what you do best.
I discovered this video todas and can't stop listening... !!!
Still coming back to this. It’s just too fucking good not to.
@@wich1 yep. And everytime someone comments or likes this reply, I just gotta listen again.
I agree with all the others in the comments. Sara and PMJ are a perfect match. Always a joy to listen when she's singing.
Thanks for listening!!!
Snuffy!
The man!
Sara Niemietz hi
hi!
Hi!!!
That was awesome, thx!! First album I ever bought..
Here's an annoying thing: one comes back to stuff that one really enjoyed: clicking on the "like" button again un-likes the video. Another click "re-likes" the video again, but doesn't register the fact that this is still awesome. Arrgh, computers.
I can't stop listening to this song!
Sara+Snuffy+PMJ = perfection
That's an equation I like! Thank you.
it's 2023 & I'm late to this party, BUT........another instant classic by Sara and PMJ.......soooo gooood........
I come back to this video frequently. It is just so hauntingly played and sung and embodies the angst I suspect everyone feels at some point. Scott and Sara so beautifully done. Snuffy, your solo plays a major part in capturing the emotion of this song. Thank you for this.
This woman is breaking my heart.
Love her amazing interpretation of this song!Sara is always one of my favorite PMJ singers!

Wait ... that was Snuffy Waldren playing the tasty guitar?! I've heard his theme songs and soundtrack work for ever!
Bluesy perfection.
Wonderful version wonderful dress Thank you for a pleasant video
Holy fucking shit. Every note in this video is perfection. They've taken a hummable kinda cheesy late 70s anthem and turned into this tasty, mature, soulful and haunting harrowing masterpiece. THAT VOICE. I am a different man after listening to this version.
You have ruined Cheap Trick forever haha.
WHAT A PERFECT TAKE.

one of the great great pop songs..... orchestrated and played brilliantly by the PMJ ... and sung beauutifully by the always wonderful Sara, |Thi is a magnificent piece of music and is a firm fave on so many of playlists. Such pop perfection.
did anyone else notice a metallic clicking sound throughout the song?
YarrowPyxie these glass decorations on a dress, they ruined this song a bit for me too. Sara tried so hard to keep those from moving/making noise.
Anyway that voice is amazing!
I thought at one point it could have been her bracelet but then i heard it at one point when her arm was stationary by her side. Her voice is great but little things like that irk me sooo bad!
Fairly sure it's actually her earrings. They're right in front of the mic (being at the same level as her mouth) so when she turns her head, they're clicking together. I thought it was the bracelet as well at first, until I was picking it up without it moving, and then saw the glimmer of the earrings.
it's her earrings :)
I was so captivated by her singing that I did not even notice this. I am listening in high end cans and I can hear it now that you mention it. Would have never noticed otherwise! That is a testament to the emotion captured in this performance!
This lady's voice is so soothing 😍😍 I could literally listen to her all day
Thank you so much for listening to me!
Trust me, it's my pleasure!!
absolutely gutwrenching! Can just feel the anguish. Probably about my 20th time watching this...and it breaks my heart every time.
Now that's an outlaw voice. And an outlaw dress. Everything so very smoky and spiff.
Wow!!! You got me at the intro, beautiful!!!
My God what the sincere emotion of Sara's voice does to this song!!!!! The whole song is fricking amazing & the build up to 4:30 into the song that literally has you choked up by 5:00 & made a 54 year old man literally cry. Listen to this with good quality speakers & a subwoofer turned most of the way up & look into Sara's eyes at 4:30 into the song & try not to cry. That's my challenge.
Bose headphones. Twice tears.
