Finally, I managed to finish this countdown! God, it took me so long to make this, because of so much stuff happening like the program not working, college and job interviews, but I finally managed to get this done!

Honestly, I am glad Phoenix Wright was No. 1 on this countdown. He is a great character who has gone many trails and tribulations (no pun intended) over the course of the series that he has earned the right to be number 1.
But--and this is just my opinion--I've never seen Phoenix as just a character; I also see him as a pioneer of sorts. Through his actions and interactions, we have been introduced to a world full of amazing and interesting people. Plus, if Phoenix had never taken up the Defense Attorney's torch, we would not even have the Investigation spin-offs and who only knows what would have happened to people like Larry and Maya if Phoenix had not come to their rescue. Phoenix was the initial catalyst for this whole series and there is no denying the impact he has had on it as a whole. Personally, I am glad Phoenix is No. 1 cause he has more than earned it.

Pro Wolf I’m somewhat sure that’s the next game. The original trilogy was about phoenix. The current trilogy (apollo justice -> spirit of justice) tells Apollo’s tale. Maybe the next trilogy will start with an Athena Cykes games.

Maybe the next game will focus on Athena working with Phoenix and Apollo to help improve her lawyer skills. It would also give us some Apollo and Athena moments, whenever their together they have such great dialogue, and Athena and Phoenix moments which e really didn’t get much of
DGS & DGS2 is my favourite games and the reasons why is because the main characters, Ryuunosuke Naruhoudo and Barok Van Zieks is one of the greatest characters in Ace Attorney series.

Whaaat? How is Athena Cykes better than Edgeworth? Yeah, she's funny and has donde really well for a rookie, but the fact is... well, she's still a rookie. In terms of skill and experience, Edgeworth is a far superior attorney, even when Athena has her supernatural powers and Mood Matrix to help solve cases, she still has only really solved a couple ones that weren't as tough as the one's we've seen Edgeworth or the other attorneys solve. And the fact that Edgeworth doesn't even rely on the supernatural, gimmicks or powers, but on pure logic to arrive to the truth, as opposed to practically every other main attorney (Phoenix relying on the Magatama and channeled-Mia most of the time, Apollo with his perceive ability, Athena with her Mood Matrix and superhearing ability) just shows how he's way out of their league and that he's probably the most skilled lawyer in the series.
Captain Regal as a person who personally views dual destinies as the best game despite there being no bad ace attorney game, I think Athena’s weaknesses and superpower are what makes her amazing. Her weak sanity in the later trials and mood matrix were some of the most (pun intended) emotional events in the game (especially the phantom and robin). She’s more of a catalyst for other characters but so is Phoenix, who is #1 on this list. This list is about the most interesting and compelling characters, not the most powerful characters. No hate towards Edgeworth though. He is an amazing character and I agree with your argument.

I enjoy her "reformation" a bit more than Nahyuta's, simply because she expresses more emotion than him. It feels like you're actually having an impact on her and changing her worldview. I do still like Nahyuta, I just wish he was less stoic.

Honestly though Godot isn't that great a prosecutor. Hell he isn't even a prosecutor, he's a defense attorney. He's never won a case as a prosecutor. I've never understood the hype around him. I think he's my number 12 after Winston and Gaspen
This countdown isn't always about how good a character is as a prosecutor or a defense attorney, but also how their personalities are and how well developed they can get.
As for Godot, how could you say that? I mean, while he never prosecuted a case before, Godot is really smart and he knows how to make an argument and point out flaws in both the witnesses and the defense.
Keyblade Soul Lord After playing all the games that’s just what I think. Also all the prosecutors are smart and can make an argument. I understand that you like him as a character, which is reasonable as he’s a very likable character, but I just didn’t enjoy his presence as much as the other prosecutors.

Hoping that by this point in time you've played through at least the Investigations games, because let me tell you, those two were my favorites in the entire franchise. I don't doubt it would change the placements of Miles and Franziska, and also add in a couple other attorneys to the mix, ranging from a rather forgettable first-case culprit to a voiceless victim to a rival who leads you to a psychological intervention that'd make Simon and Athena proud.
I'm glad Godot made it high. He's the best prosecutor in the series. AND NOT A VILLIAN! THAT TECHNICALLY WAS DEFENSE. Defense of someone else but still. He's my favorite character! Behind him is klavier and blackquill.

I dont see why evreyone hates Nahyuta at firsy i wasnt too much of a fan but the more i saw him the more he grew on me by the beginning of the last trial he ended up becoming my favorite prosecutor and character aside edgeworth and athena
I don’t know that Winston defends his witnesses from anything. He only did it for Dahlia because she had that effect on the men around her (really just the Judge and Winston, tbh)

You forgot about Von Karma's involvement in Edgeworth's games.
For those who don't know in Investigations 1 Von Karma and his daughter Franzeska (Sorry if I spelled it wrong), and Edgeworth were called in to fill in for Byrne Faraday, the prosecutor of the Yata-Garasu case but was called out by the man who claimed he was the Yata-Garasu, so Edgeworth came in to replace him. There was no case however Von Karma was grateful to see his protege handle the situation better than most. Though never localized, Investigations 2 shows us HOW von karma got that penalty. Also, I bet he was very upset at Edgeworth for letting Terry Fawles die on the stand before his verdict was carried out. He may not have been happy that Edgeworth lost, but he was happy Mia didn't win either.
I did not forget. As I said at the start of the video, I have never played or seen playthroughs of the investigation games, and since I never played them, I could not cover them for this countdown, so I focused only on my knowledge of the main games.

Also, wouldn't Lana Skye be considered an attorney too? She's not completely unknown.

Okay one random thing. I know this list is about lawyers which Godot is, but I'm surprised you didn't place him at #1 on your villains list. (maybe #2 cause Dhalia is such a good villain) I feel like a broken record when I tell people that Godot is a villain. After all, a good person wouldn't knowingly come up with a convoluted plan to get revenge on someone who was already dead sacrificing Mia's (the girl he loved's) own mother Misty in the process. Godot even said he could have stopped the whole thing from happening at any point. I mean I have no clue why Misty and Iris even went along with his crazy plan. They could have easily just explained things to Pearl or Phoenix. But no, Misty decides it's better to endanger her own daughter by going along with this instead of avoiding the problem from the beginning. Sorry I got into a rant.
That's because I never considered Godot as a villain. He was an antagonist.

He didn't kill his lover's MOTHER to "save" anyone, he did it for himself and his single minded desire for vengeance. There were a billion ways to handle the situation that was better than that. The way he did it was the only way he could physically destroy Dahlia out of nothing but self satisfaction. WE KNOW THERE ARE WAYS TO FORCE SPIRITS OUT OF BODIES AND MYSTY SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THEM. Anti-heros are at least heroic. Godot is not.
Do a Top 10 Most Wanted Sprits list. I feel that SoJ won't be Dhurke's only appearance, like how Mia keeps coming back as a spirit after the first game.

That's the second time in a week that I answer this question. Yes, Kristoph is a defense attorney, but unlike everybody on this list, he was never called to defend or prosecute a case. The ones on this list are every single attorney that you play as or go up against in court. Kristoph, while a defense attorney, was merely a witness in both the cases he's been on. If I had to include every single attorney, Marvin Grossberg would've been on this list as well.

@@catalyst539 First off, he wasn't called for the Zak Gramarye case, he offered his services to Zak, but he was rejected after losing to Zak in a game of poker, deeming him untrustworthy.
Second, while yes he is a defense attorney, he wasn't included on this list because he was never on the stand to defend or prosecute, like the other attorneys on this list.

I think the problem with Nahyuta is that the writers made him too much of a jerk. If they instead wrote him as like a badass crime fighting monk who cares about a proper trial and finding the truth, hack they even could’ve had him going behind Gahran’s back and smuggling falsely convicted defendants out of the country or at least those who were going to be executed. Also get rid of his taser prayer beads

Tre Anderson I actually feel that Godot/Diego Armando had more of a depressing and deeper story than Mia did. His backstory was dark, and I just liked his character. Thus, I felt Godot/Diego Armando was a “better” attorney than Mia.
kalimul I feel like his actions make him less of a likeable character than Mia. Also, and this is just me, but he didn't seem like an exactly special prosecutor. But this is all my opinion, so don't get triggered.

Donovan Dab I didn't forget him. The reason I didn't include him on this list was because he never took the stand in the defense in any of the games. I only included the ones you play as and the prosecutors you face, and Kristoph, despite being a defense attorney, never was playable nor you ever faced him as a prosecutor, because he was witness.
And because he hates him.

I personally feel that Nahyuta's hate is justified when you apply it like this:
Yes, he's been forced into being a prosecutor against his will, and he has to do the Queen's bidding. However, the fact that he doesn't change his behavior *at all* when he goes overseas, even meeting Apollo whom he respected a lot back in the day, shows that his oppression by the Queen is not all of the cause. He simply acts that way on his own will.
