I would love to get Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea fully remastered on Blu Ray, if I find out about it being released anywhere worldwide I will for sure get a copy from the studio to review for all of you on this channel. But for now that show simply hasn’t been released on Blu ray. I knew the series from old when it ran here on West German TV, ARD, in the Afternoon Youth free program The boy even contains the regrettably failed reboot of the show from 2002. I liked that one too but instead FIREFLIES was realised. I had liked it the other way around. Western and Science Fiction in this form does not mix well for me. Funny, when I have bought the box and wanted to get it from my local Postal Office I had to show my Identity Card for Age certification as if Porn were in the box. brought some stear from other customers ::)
TIME TUNNEL!🔥! I’m glad I ran across your channel a couple of months ago, although my wallet is much lighter! I grew up watching reruns of Star Trek, Space 1999, Invaders, Outer limits, Twilight Zone, Time Tunnel, and many more great tv series. Physical media never existed back then. I’m overjoyed these great series are coming out on awesome blu ray! I’m 53, but feel so fortunate that I can rewatch these great shows again, even though it’s 30, 40, even 50 years later. I just purchased Time Tunnel and can’t wait for it to arrive:). Thanks again for all you do James!
I'm a huge TIME TUNNEL fan and bought this set (and the prior DVDs) the moment they were released. The episodes look and sound superb, better than I ever thought was possible. But I thought it might be prudent to mention that the extra features in this set do not look quite as good as they do on the old DVD sets issued in the US. For some reason, probably technical, both the TIME TRAVELERS movie and the 2002 TIME TUNNEL pilot just don't have the same clarity that they do on the DVD set. Also, the Irwin Allen Home Movies run at a slower speed than they do on the DVD set. This might be a minor issue, but it should be known. Nevertheless, I'm thrilled to own this set on Blu-ray. It's my go-to version unless I want to watch one of the extras, then I'll dig out the DVDs.
I have this series on dvd. I too like this better than the other shows he did. I was born in 1967 and this may be the very first show i remember watching in reruns.
You will be amazed with how good this looks on Blu Ray once you get it, definitely a worthwhile upgrade & a very enjoyable TV series. Did you watch & like I Dream Of Jeannie too?
I was a bewiched kid growing up. I watched IDOJ alot as a kid but bewiched was my favorite fantasy show then and now. Also as a kid i was a munsters fan but as an adult im into the adams family alot more with cousin it, lurch, the thing and uncle fester. Its hard to believe he was the kid on the charly chaplin film.

I have this 2018 Time Tunnel (1966-67) Blu-ray set. But the overall Time Tunnel Blu-ray picture quality is noticeable sub-par compared to the Lost in Space (1965 - 68) Blu-ray set. There are technical reasons for this that can be found elsewhere. Still the TT 2018 set is essential for all Irwin Allen fans. Special thanks to Kevin Burns for organizing the excellent LIS Blu-ray set. Sheila Allen payed for much of the LIS restoration and mastering.
I started the first Disc. So far very good! I like both the mono & stereo sounds. Nice clear picture and I love the animated menu playing The Time Tunnel theme. Definitely worth getting!
Definitely plan to buy this next month when I get paid. Use to watch the reruns on Cable TV. Glad to know it's region free despite what the label says. As always I love your reviews and the time you take in testing these out for us. I also wish the series had continued. However, I do believe The Time Tunnel did inspire other time travel shows to follow like Voyagers, Quantum Leap, and many other scifi shows. Time Tunnel was ahead of it's time.

Quick Question: Not a big deal but I've noticed when I play a Time Tunnel disc and for whatever reason when I stop it and turn off the player then get back to it, the disc won't play at the spot where I stopped it. It plays back to the very beginning with with the bluray menu. This only happens with Time Tunnel not with my other blurays. Just wonder if any other Time Tunnel owners noticed this?

In regards to your comment about Time Tunnel being the best Irwin Allen series. I think it is better than Land of the Giants. Better than the colour seasons of Lost in Space. But Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea is my favourite Irwin series. It had Basehart, the Seaview, the flying sub, the spies, the monsters, the time travelers, the ghosts, the music cues and it had the incredible length of 110 hours. But Tunnel really shines with the pilot, End of the World, Reign of Terror, Chase Through Time and The Death Merchant. Thanks again
Now if they would put Land of The Giants on bluray & region free that would be great. I love Irwin Allen's shows but hated that they never ended with a resolution. I would have loved to see the Robinson's return home, the little people leave the giant planet, and Doug & Tony return to their own time. Then again the 60's & 70's shows were like that. The old Sid & Marty Krofft kid shows were like that too.
HI have watched this off an Optoma Projector and like Lost in Space and Batman 66 found the Image to be fantastic. I do not think Land of the Giants and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea will ever be remastered on Blu Ray due to costs. I've seen some of these episodes on streaming and I thought that they were pretty good and they tended to go back to well known and significant historical events. I may have to get this.

I am curious as Amazon shows this Blu Ray set as being released in November of 2018. Is there a newer release as this set appears to have all the features you described including showing it is a region 2 set and the reviews listed below do confirm that it plays on region 1 machines as well. Based on your review I was expecting a more recent release or is it because it has only been recently made available to buyers in the United States?
As far as the Region 1 & Region 2 comments that you were referring to, that is not at all Blu Ray region coding, so I have no clue what you are reading because that’s false & inaccurate. Blu Rays are region coded as either Regions A, B or C, so whoever typed whatever you were reading doesn’t know anything about this Blu Ray set or Blu Rays in general lol… But I explained in this review that the exact Blu Ray set I am reviewing I have put the exact Amazon Link for you to buy it from in the description section below this video, as long as you click & buy it through that exact link I put in the description section below this video you will be getting the exact Blu Ray set of The Time Tunnel that I just reviewed. Why are so many of these TV shows in Blu-ray not released in the US? Is it a rights issue? You would not think it is a cost issue as they could just buy it from the studio in the country that has already spent the money to remaster it.
I have probably talked about this exact issue in videos hundreds of times lol!!!! It’s because of streaming services they buy rights to shows in the USA even if they never plan on remastering the shows they buy the rights and then a lot of the times do nothing to fix or remaster shows and release them on streaming in horrible quality, so that’s why hundreds of these great classic TV series and Movies are being remastered and released on Blu Ray & 4K outside the USA. That’s one of the huge reasons I hate streaming services and don’t use any whatsoever lol!!! That’s also one of the big reasons I started sharing & making all these reviews about these releases so that everyone just like myself could watch my videos & know all about these and be able to buy them and collect them just like me. Streaming services hurt physical Media releases in the USA massively! I hope this helps explain this lol!!!! I received several huge exciting releases of TV Series & Movies from some major studios to review that will be coming out very soon, so it’s a very exciting time to be a SUBSCRIBER!

@@kenpope5798 What type of TV and Blu ray Player do you use to watch these on? Do you use a 4K TV and 4K Blu Ray Player? Either way this Blu ray set looks great over the DVDs there is way more depth and detail to the picture and colors are way more accurate & vibrant. Also you are getting a wayyyy better Brand New 5.1 audio mix that sounds 100% better than the old DVDs so it’s a very worthwhile upgrade!
@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I have a LG 4K player and several Blu-ray players including a all regional player. I have a Samsung QN32Q50RAFXZA 4K in the bedroom and a LG 49UJ6300-UA In the living room. The 4K player and living room TV are older models so I don’t know if I can take advantage of some of the new 4K pictures and sound
@@kenpope5798 you will still notice a big upgrade watching remastered Blu Rays vs DVD, especially on a 4K tv with 4K upscaling player. Hands down the Blu Ray bit rate & color space is a huge difference between DVDs so because you use a 4K TV & 4K player that upscales Blu Ray content even farther and makes remastered Blu Rays look even better. You will definitely enjoy this new set over the old DVDs.
There is “NO USA Version” that is the exact same set from the UK just listed by another seller & charging an extra $10 for the same set. That’s why I listed the Amazon Link for the much less expensive Blu Ray listing because it’s the exact same set there is only 1 Time Tunnel Complete Series Blu Ray Set that’s ever been released, but Amazon sellers can make extra listings and charge whatever they want so they are simply making an extra $10 on each person who thinks it’s a different USA set & doesn’t know any better and buys it from them lol!!!! So to simplify there is only 1 company that’s remastered the only Time Tunnel Blu Ray set that’s ever been made or released.

Sorry but you must have misunderstood because this is NOT a DVD set, it’s a Blu Ray Set & it is manufactured 100% Completely Region Free so it plays in all Blu Ray players anywhere worldwide! So you buying some random DVD sets is not what my video review is about! This Time Tunnel Complete Series BLU RAY set works in ALL major manufactured Blu Ray players in every single country. Episode 29 has lines running vertical for 15 minutes which is ghe only Episode that was beyond repair
Catching up on some vids I missed. This looks like a great set. Certainly was a good show. They don't quite make them like this anymore in my opinion.

Is there a newer release as this set appears to have all the features you described including showing it is a region 2 set and the reviews listed below do confirm that it plays on region 1 machines as well. Based on your review I was expecting a more recent release or is it because it has only been recently made available to buyers in the United States?
As far as the Region 1 & Region 2 comments that you were referring to, that is not at all Blu Ray region coding, so I have no clue what you are reading because that’s false & inaccurate. Blu Rays are region coded as either Regions A, B or C, so whoever typed whatever you were reading doesn’t know anything about this Blu Ray set or Blu Rays in general lol… But I explained in this review that the exact Blu Ray set I am reviewing I have put the exact Amazon Link for you to buy it from in the description section below this video, as long as you click & buy it through that exact link I put in the description section below this video you will be getting the exact Blu Ray set of The Time Tunnel that I just reviewed. Why are so many of these TV shows in Blu-ray not released in the US? Is it a rights issue? You would not think it is a cost issue as they could just buy it from the studio in the country that has already spent the money to remaster it.
I have probably talked about this exact issue in videos hundreds of times lol!!!! It’s because of streaming services they buy rights to shows in the USA even if they never plan on remastering the shows they buy the rights and then a lot of the times do nothing to fix or remaster shows and release them on streaming in horrible quality, so that’s why hundreds of these great classic TV series and Movies are being remastered and released on Blu Ray & 4K outside the USA. That’s one of the huge reasons I hate streaming services and don’t use any whatsoever lol!!! That’s also one of the big reasons I started sharing & making all these reviews about these releases so that everyone just like myself could watch my videos & know all about these and be able to buy them and collect them just like me.
Streaming services hurt physical Media releases in the USA massively!

@@kenpope5798 What type of TV and Blu ray Player do you use to watch these on? Do you use a 4K TV and 4K Blu Ray Player? Either way this Blu ray set looks great over the DVDs there is way more depth and detail to the picture and colors are way more accurate & vibrant. Also you are getting a wayyyy better Brand New 5.1 audio mix that sounds 100% better than the old DVDs so it’s a very worthwhile upgrade!
@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I have a LG 4K player and several Blu-ray players including a all regional player. I have a Samsung QN32Q50RAFXZA 4K in the bedroom and a LG 49UJ6300-UA In the living room. The 4K player and living room TV are older models so I don’t know if I can take advantage of some of the new 4K pictures and sound
@@kenpope5798 you will still notice a big upgrade watching remastered Blu Rays vs DVD, especially on a 4K tv with 4K upscaling player. Hands down the Blu Ray bit rate & color space is a huge difference between DVDs so because you use a 4K TV & 4K player that upscales Blu Ray content even farther and makes remastered Blu Rays look even better. You will definitely enjoy this new set over the old DVDs.
Do you know there is a Time Tunnel US version on Amazon for 49.99 instead of the UK version for 38.99 with 3.99 shipping?
There is “NO USA Version” that is the exact same set from the UK just listed by another seller & charging an extra $10 for the same set. That’s why I listed the Amazon Link for the much less expensive Blu Ray listing because it’s the exact same set there is only 1 Time Tunnel Complete Series Blu Ray Set that’s ever been released, but Amazon sellers can make extra listings and charge whatever they want so they are simply making an extra $10 on each person who thinks it’s a different USA set & doesn’t know any better and buys it from them lol!!!!
So to simplify there is only 1 company that’s remastered the only Time Tunnel Blu Ray set that’s ever been made or released.

Sorry but you must have misunderstood because this is NOT a DVD set, it’s a Blu Ray Set & it is manufactured 100% Completely Region Free so it plays in all Blu Ray players anywhere worldwide! So you buying some random DVD sets is not what my video review is about! This Time Tunnel Complete Series BLU RAY set works in ALL major manufactured Blu Ray players in every single country. Hope this helps you understand this all a little better.
