Could we get a video on the deprogramming that Germans went through after the war? Like how did we get to how Germany is today after so much indoctrination among the youth? That would be an interesting video!
In the case of my grandparents, who were both in the youth programs but were still too young to fight by the wars end, basically 0. When they came to Canada in the 50s (I think 50s) they had basic "welcome to life in canada" type classes for a little, but it was directed at all immigrants, not towards germans, and was all in english, which they could barely understand at the time.
My uncle was tank driver in Russia, my father was in the Hitler Youth, Flakhelfer (anti-aircraft crew) and was to be in the Volkssturm fighting off the russians, but all ran when the tanks came. He turned 18 two days before the capitulation. You did not notice anything that had remained from that time. They rarely ever spoke about it. The trick is to bring normal people of a civilized country to go along by SLOOOOOOOOWLY nudging them on and on. Keeping the nasty stuff out of sight, under wraps. And the Nazis were good, kept up huge refuges normality even in the war. You can have totally innocent movies from even in the war that you can show without bad conscience today. "Die Feuerzangenbowle"; "Quax der Bruchpilot", "Münchhausen", "Große Freiheit Nr. 7", all totally unpolitical. Nationalism, honour, duty, solidarity with your comrades - can be positive or negative. Do not forget, up to 1939, months before the war began, the US Nazis could fill the Madison Square Garden. With everything, with brown uniforms, fanatic speeches, almost more rabid as the german Nazis. And they all simply dissolved back in the US society, and no one talked about them, wondered where they were.... On May 8, 1945, the constant battering fell away Most people simply dropped back in normal mode. All symbolism was rapidly abolished, all flags, all Hitler portraits and busts, all swastikas from buildings, all 'Mein Kampf's, The complete leadership was arrested. The system had been highly organized, was based on following orders. You replace those that have the say, make a new set of orders, the new orders are followed. A lot of politicians that had fled Germany returned. And the people had better things to do than trying to undermine the rules that forbid fascist symbols and ideology. They were busy to try to survive, to build up a new living, to rebuild Germany. Some city were destroyed to 70%. And then there were the liberators, they had eversthing. They gave out chocolate to the kids. Funny that many higher Nazis ended up in organisations that were cooperating with the US. Not only Wernher von Braun and his staff that went to the NASA, but also in other positions. The german intelligence agency was filled with people that came from more or less the same area in the 3rd Reich. And there were of course organisations that undertook to handle the past, not as Nationalist glorification of the past, of concentrating on the appealing sides of fascism, and there were many, you could have a really good life there), but worked out what the implications were, how vicious the methods were, how innocent each single step was, but in their accumulation they added up to bring pwople to do things they would have never done before. And in the beginning at least, everyone had experienced the disadvantages first hand, doing your duty, all the sacrifices had been of no avail, you had lost even though you had given everything, you knew people who had died, you saw the cities in ruins, had seen the giant piles of skin-covered skeletons that had been people. We got a new constitution, written to avoid a takeover that the previous constitution had allowed, including the good parts of other constitutions. Just days ago, someone said a constitution where the first article is "The dignity of the human is untouchable" is really badass. There were still Nazis around, for a long time we even had an NPD, a nationalist party, but especially the post-war generation was really against it. Thom Hartmann found a quote "When the last survivor of a war that can tell his tale, then it is time for another war". One can really have this impression. The right gets stronger and stronger, one can see that there where the people had no a real personal experience of fascism (where the US troops came, the working fascism vanished) are way more apt to fall for the methods of it.
There was a period of intense denazification during the occupation and afterwards. The Allies threw a lot of money and time into eradicating the National Socialist ethos from German minds.
My great uncle was in Hitler Youth as a teen. In order to flee Germany, my great grandparents had to drug him and then lied that he was very ill. He was allowed to sober up on the ship to the US until he tried to jump overboard. He passed away a few years ago but I was always fascinated by his life growing up in Nazi Germany. He was lo I dband grumpy but at times I could hear the regret in his voice. He married a Jewish woman from Canada and they had 2 sons together.
I'm German, and my grandad was in the SS, which meant he also had an ancestry passport. As sinister as the ideology behind it was, today it's a treasure trove for a genealogy nut like me, because it goes back to the mid- to late 1700s, and thus we've got an almost complete family tree from that side of the family.
Not to be cruel, but I have that too (back to the 1200's on my side and 1066 on my husband's), without it having been a requirement to avoid being targeted and murdered by my government. Unfortunately, many of my Jewish friends can't really trace their genealogy past the 1930's...
I was able to quite easily trace my maternal grandmother's ancestry back to late 1500s England, a few generations prior to them coming over on the Mayflower. Haven't been able to find much about my dad's side though.
@@phaedrapage4217Don't have it but both my parents were able to trace them. (And even if Belgium was under Nazi's occupations, Walloons were not really appreciated by nazis, especially compared to Flemmish, and the one province I'm from have a lot of stories about the resistance)
My grand-aunt was a “horizontal collaborator” in Western Norway. She had a lebensborn son, and was chased out of her city (and the country) after the war as a “German Girl.” There is an entire branch of my family that now lives in Sweden because of a 17-year-old girl sleeping with an SS guy.
Sounds like the life story of one of the singers from the group ABBA. Anni-Frid Lyngstad was born in Norway to a German father and Norwegian mother. Her mother and grandmother eventually had to move to Sweden after the war due to the threat of reprisals against collaborators.
That's awful. Especially since she was so young, and the situation where she met him was very likely coercive or iffy on some level, considering the power of SS. She was too young to be considered a willing "collaborator" (honestly, many "willing" "horizontal collaborators" were in a situations where collaboration was the only safe way for her and her birth family to live. Meaning it wasn't really free and informed choice😔)
@Sienisota Yeah. It was "I can be in this relationship (quote unquote) willingly and maybe get some extra food to bring home and my family will be safe from nazi harrassment. Or I can refuse, get r*ped anyway, maybe killed, my family wont get extra food or be protected". I dont blame any girl or woman who was forced to make that choice to protect themselves or their family. In times of war you do what you must to make sure you and yours survive. And if you are a girl or young woman, especially back then when women didnt do all that much fighting, hooking up with an enemy occupier is a tool in your arsenal for survival. Some female resistance members did it too, so they could learn secrets or copy documents.
As an interesting footnote, I recommend the autobiography of Hans-Jürgen Massaquoi a Hamburg born German, whose father was black Liberian. He was born in 1926, so came of age during the Nazi years. His experiences firstly in Germany, then Africa and later the USA make for a fascinating read. (He even ended up in the US military fighting in Korea, although he was German)
A friend of my dad grew up during WW2 and was in the Hitler Youth. He used to tell my dad stories of his childhood and young adulthood. He would cry as he talked about what he'd seen and experienced. He came to Ireland as soon as he could and never went back. He hated his German accent and the links he had to WW2, however small. He said Ireland was his real home. Little sidenote: I do think it would be good if basic skills such as cooking, sewing and running a household were compulsory for both boys and girls in school. I remember having to teach my ex how to use a washing machine, cook a few basic meals that could be frozen if there were extras and clean when he moved out of his parents into his own flat. They're necessary skills that kids aren't being taught anymore
In germany its actually part of the school, its called "Hauswirtschaftskunde" (literally house econimcs knowledge) and teaches you the basics of cooking, everyday use of money and so on, in our case that meant we were running the little shop that sold food during the lunch breaks, cooking, buying and keeping stock on the supplies and cleaning the kitchen, it was basically like managing a small Restaurant. Side note in germany each state kinda does their own thing with education based on a federal base line, so my experience may only apply to Berlin, but i know other states did have it too, probably just slightly different.
I completely agree with your side note. I thought of it myself during a lot of the educational requirements. Physical fitness, check, household skills, check. The girls actually received a far more useful education. Managing a home is hard work, even if you have hired help. There's so much economic planning involved.
Yes, have to make a difference between German children forced to join Nazi programs and much worse case of russian children WILLINGLY joining putin's russia supremacist squads, "Jugendarmy"

No, he wasn't. He had blue eyes, btw. Denazification never stopped, it's been going for decades. You've been propagandized for so long you don't know fact from fiction.
Anyone who watched or read the man in high Castle knows about the very interesting way that it portrayed the Lebensborn and the duality of a life and status they never asked for.
Ha - yup totally, the first thing that came to my mind. Ive spent much of my life learning about history, esp 20th C politics and wars, and Lebensborn was something I had come across in name but not found too much about. A fabulous series we love to watch on a binge rotation! Highly recommend it.
The worst part about lebensborn is the treatment by the allies afterward. Those kids did not deserve being shunned and mistreated their entire lives just because their already vulnerable mothers were taken advantage off by the nazis. The kids were not at fault and the way governments just looked away is appaling.
If you care to watch the video again, and/or read other comments, it wasn't the Allies the ones who mistreated those kids, but the people of their hometowns. Hard as is to believe it, invaded and subjugated by a totalitarian regime's people don't look gladly at perceived collaborators, and children of the oppressors. There are plenty of photos of women who were lovers of Nazi officers, beaten and their hair shaved by their own neighbors proving that.
@@Roz-y2dIn the Netherlands, children of German soldiers were absolutely treated very badly. They were called "moffenkinderen" with moffen being the Dutch derogatory word for Germans and they were treated like second class citizens.

The last Sideprojects script you wrote could also have used some polish. However, your past writing shows true talent and dedication and I'm looking forward to your next script!
I am a proper mutt with a seriously german surname. The other kids gave me some crap in school when we covered wwii stuff, I pointed out even then that my coloring doesn't gel with the aryan ideal, and I don't look definitively "not jewish". Sparta? What about Egypt, China, Rome, the Vikings, the Church? Nazi Germany controlled Germany the exact same way humanity had been controlled throughout history. Just think about the Roman Empire, it was a highly indoctrinated society, where every aspect was influenced by what the government or ruler wanted. Vikings also killed of their defective children, it's been a normal practice throughout humanities existence, just like animals, bc there's no reason to keep a defective mouth to feed around. It's really only in the latter half of the 19th century, that people started having some kind of freedom to see the World in their own view. It was also in this time, that the average quality of life started going up, not saying it was good, but better than before. This is why I got so irritated when one Filipino coworker said to me 'your lipstick looks nice on you, it makes your face look more white'. I also had this one Filipino customer that dyed her hair blond and would wear blue contact lenses. My Filipino brother-in-law doesn't like it when his skin darkens in the summer, his family wanted his kids to be white like my side of the family. It makes me feel bad sometimes for having blond hair and blue eyes. All races are beautiful and no race is superior to the other.
I got told in China that I was beautiful because I was white by a little old lady. I just thanked her, but my brain was thinking "you must not know many white people". Also, white skin is terrible for an even skin tone. Spots and variants of colour everywhere. I believe the root cause of preference for white skin is the "rich enough not to work in the sun" thing. Nothing else makes sense to me.
It just proves how insidious & stupid racism is: because he told them what they wanted to hear, they overlooked that he was lying to them (Sounds familiar?)
It wasn't totally uncommon for the nazis to take blond hair, blue eye Jewish children under the age of 4 or so when they were brought to ghettos and camps. They'd be adopted into German families and have no idea they were adopted or that they were of Jewish descent.
IF a game named 'Bombers over London' had Scapa Flow as a target, it really doesn't say much for their navigation! Amazed that they didn't have another one in a blue and white striped suit with a yellow star on the pocket!
Look at any modern military shooter video game, most have you mowing down brown people or other foreign types. Propaganda and indoctrination is still quite prevalent in children's entertainment. The commando comics of the 70s and 80s portrayed the enemy as stereotypes in a similar vain. I guess a lot of this is more appealing to a countries relatable history and values rather than outright propaganda but we are not that different to germans 80 years ago in our entertainment media really.

For the Nazis being blonde hair and blue-eyed was not as important as being Aryan. If you were Slavic and had blonde hair and blue eyes, which is common for Slavs, you were still considered subhuman.
@@darkhobo I think the whole blonde hair blue eyed anti-Slav thing is mainly only believed by Anglo boomers now with the internet. Fun Fact: "The Producers" uses actual nazi propaganda, as in the hilarious play that makes no sense that the 2 main characters end up producing is a real nazi play that actually existed. My paternal grandfather (born 1922) seldom spoke about his youth and the war, but he once told my father that he was a very fervent fascist - we're Italian and he was born in the year when fascism took power. It all came crumbling down in 1943, while he was a cadet at the Marine Academy, and Italy surrendered to the Allies. He and all his comrades were surrounded by nazis (he called them "Germans") who were there at the Academy, taken as hostages and moved to a concentration camp in Germany for the next two years. He said that all that he believed in was destroyed that day, and I can vouch that, in the time that I had to know him, he was always a very fervent antifascist.
There was a German board game called “Jews Out!” where the goal was to move all Jewish pieces outside the town (board). Surprised they didn’t cover this game in this video.
My great uncle was born in Austria during the depression, when he was 8 years old his father took him to Munich to look for work. Shortly after arriving, his father died and the authorities either couldn't trace his family or didn't try and he was fostered by a German family. When he came of age he was conscripted. Fortunately he was captured in the trenches of France before he could be seriously injured and he was taken to England as a POW. Since he was still an able bodied young man he was put to work on a farm where he met my great aunt and they got married after the war. He had a son, a couple of grandchildren and died a couple of years ago after living a full and active life.

If Aryans were supposed to be so perfect with blonde hair and blue eyes why did Hitler himself have dark brown hair and brown eyes? I’ve never been able to understand that.
The way the nazi party used the word 'Aryan' is incorrect. This term refers to a very particular tribe from I forget precisely where and not a description of one's features. 'Racial purity' has always been a myth used for control. Hitler himself was born Austrian.
@@jaded_gerManicIn the 19th and 20th centuries the Indo-Europeans were referred to as the Aryans, just as they are to this day in India. A friend of mine cleans out vacated apartments and ran across a couple copies of an empty "Ahnenpass", literally an "ancestry passport" which you were supposed to fill out to prove your Aryan descent. They could've made that into a fun kids' game called "Ahnenspass" ("Ancestry Fun") where the first kid to prove seven generations of pure blood gets to be SS-Gauleiter...
Honestly, the Lebensborn and racial purity aspects are weird. They make no sense and were often counterproductive to the success of the regime. But the art, youth groups, and games make total sense - especially when you consider how important a role Goebbels had in the game. While the Nazis screwed a lot of stuff up, they took all the lessons of how to control a society and put them to practice, and it shows. They were determined to put all facets of German life under their control, and did so with success that even controlling powers like North Korea, China, or Stalinist USSR could never dream of. It's an example of how to control society completely, and how even the smallest things can be used. Like "The Prince", it's an example of how to be a terrible ruler and regime, and something to study to detect if your government, work, church, or other organizations are trying to control you. Consider how many churches and political parties put limits on art and what is and isn't acceptable. How many places require children to participate in schooling that is focused on instilling ideology and indoctrination of various ideas. How many books and other materials are edited or made to be pleasing or acceptable alternatives to mainstream productions. These aren't weird - they are everyday occurrences in the modern world, continuing on today in most countries to one degree or another.
Yeah, my mind is comparing it to life in California now. The laws that are being passed and trying to be passed seem very segregationalist. Instead of each person being themselves. People are being put into groups. Groups that fight each other. Or are being oppressed by others. It is weird

I read a marketing book back in 1989, and one of the chapters quoted some Madison Avenue execs from the time (1980s) saying that the way Hitler and the Nazis marketed Nazism to their whole country, was something to be admired in the ad world. A shame I can't remember the book's title though.
@@stewartmiddleton4527 I can believe that. Goebbels was a genius at marketing and propaganda. It was probably the most effective PR campaign of all time. His playbook has been used for decades since by a wide variety of governments, and has been used in marketing campaigns and other matters since. The man is a horrible person, willing to do anything for money and power. He was fine committing basically atrocity as long as it left him wealthy and powerful. He was an extremely evil and selfish man. That being said, the man was still a genius at marketing and propaganda, and his influence lives on in many ways and places. It is a step by step guide to manipulating the public, or a guide to how not to be manipulated.
I don’t think it was weird at all. It was the logical conclusion given what was happening in the Jim Crowes south and in the colonies at the time. The Germans just brought those tactics to Western Europe and Europeans got to see it front and center at home.

@@fogcat5 Exactly, they sent people to the US to learn how segregation was legally implemented. They also were influenced by Henry Ford’s International Jew writings.
Mr. Egghead is from England. Even 78 years after the war they like to talk about "the evil Nazis". Ironically the average person in Nazi Germany could buy a rifle and ammunition without any kind of license. Getting a pistol and a right to carry was a shall issue. The average person in "democratic" Britain at that time could hardly own a pistol, and today only their fucking lords are allowed to own pistols. Interesting. On top of that he's generally dishonest and ill informed in his videos, no matter the subject. I'm an anarchist, BTW. I simply point out the inconsistency and hypocrisy. All states are criminal organizations, existing without the voluntary consent of the ruled. So called dictatorships only use more open violence to hold people in check than "democracies" (usually at least).
I'm pretty sure the word entartet "degenerate" in "entartete Kunst", although existing in the language, was specifically strongly revived by the Nazis. Entartet is incredibly strong and negative: it literally means outside species or norms and is often used in contexts like cells becoming cancerous. In other words, "having become monstrous". It's a word one has to be very careful with in German.

If there is one thing we learned from Nazis is how not to do propaganda. The US and also many other countries now use propaganda carefully placed to steer the people where u want them. We are now in a 20-30 year old indoctrination of being leftists only...without questioning. We are so brainwashed that facts dont matter and feelings are the new red line that we suppose to follow. Science is of increasingly low value and constantly gets watered down by agendas. And there are many of it because everything and everyone with power asserts it onto us. The industry, politics, rich billionaires...they all work on shaping us. 😂
if you haven't already done an ep. on the kids affected from this indoctrination, could you do one now? you know, like 20, 30 or 40 years later and how it has affected germans(e and w) and what has happened?
I knew a German girl (from Stuggart) and she seemed perfectly normal to me. Worked with a couple two (never mentioned the war) Two of them had dark hair the other a bottle blond.
I mean, degenerate seems a valid description of modern art. Not defending NAZIS, but the art thing is like the least problematic thing to come from the third Reich
I wonder if the children from this program who were blonde haired and blue eyed later intentionally chose partners who weren’t to try to have children who weren’t “Aryan ideals”?
After the war I would have no doubt they wanted to breed that out of their children. If you listen to older black women, they heard and also told there girls to find white men to have lighter babies.
This hot take might get me some hate mail......... The Hitler Youth program doesn't sound all that much different from many scouting programs from that era. Boys have long been indoctrinated in national pride, social beliefs, and skills handy for military service. And then there's issues of racial segregation, scouts' religious beliefs, gender and sexual identies, etc. To call the Nazi indoctrination of its youth weird is really just putting blinders on to our own nations' weirdness. Even more so, it just ignores every single way we rear our children, from gender-specific color palettes, to toys, hobbies, clothing styles, hair styles, reading choices, career paths, etc. Humans are all weird, making the Nazi youth just plain old normal on that point.
A lot of this type of thing goes on all over the world. I think the difference is the way it was systematically used to manipulate the people and ultimately kill anyone who didn't abide. Also, the whole taking over the world with a master race thing😂😂😂
The original idea that became the Boy-Scouts was to keep adults fit for military service (the adults didnt like it while the kids did so the inventor reworked parts to make it appropriate, YET the scouts dont teach you the use of guns ect so I think you go to far (I guess you never were in them?)). In the same way we are influenced by our environment but its just fucked up to teach your kids that you are better and others are inproper humans that have to die... My understanding (as a german) is that: The Nazis viewed everything but them as bad while todays society says that we are all unique and thats fine.
My Estonian Grandfather was taken from his family at the age of 12, he was put into an SS Training Camp. He came from a large family & his oldest brother had been "conscripted" by the Russians a year or so earlier. His other brothers went into "hiding", carrying out guerrilla tactics from a distance. My Grandfather was only 18 years old when the war ended but he'd seen active service for two years, being captured & escaping on the Russian Front he made his way back to Germany. After the war in Europe ended he was employed as a guard by the Allied Forces during the Nuremberg Trials. One of the prisoners he guarded was the notorious Rudolph Hesse, with whom he would sit & play chess on quiet afternoons.
@@buzzzzzz69 I’m not American and didn’t fail history, in fact it was my best subject. I made a joke about you writing Hesse which reminded me of Mexican slang meaning "dude", “bro", "homie”. Maybe you made a typo, but the man you referenced was Rudolph Hess.
I AM NOT A NAZI... However, I have been working in a baby factory that I call my house. Seriously, I've lost count. Could anyone out there take 1 or 5 off my hands? They only look "that way", I swear. So tired.
Pronunciation!! The first E in LEBENSBORN should have the same sound as in FEAR and PIER. Simon mispronounces it "LIEBENSBORN" with the sound of FIELD and MEET. The distinction is important as LEBEN means "life" and LIEBE means "love". Lebensborn means "fount of life", whereas "Liebensborn" would mean "born from love".
I will say I don't think teaching children survival skills such as how to use a map, how to handle a firearm safely, even a bit of war games type stuff is wierd. I loved games like that with airsoft/paintball guns. Grouos like the boy scouts do that stuff pretty often. It's how it was done and the blind loyalty to the government that's an issue. Totally agree on everything else
I find it most alarming that so many people seem willing - nay, excited - to embrace the idea of so-called “A.I.” art and writing. All it takes is gradual reprogramming to produce just one approved narrative, which I understand can already be seen in chatGPT. Shared art and literature (alongside verbal storytelling) underpin all cultures and societies, and you can add music to that, too. Imagine what the Nazi party could’ve done with “A.I.”!
Some. One family of three kids, reportedly, two remembered and returned but the third refused and 'stayed' as German. Their parents, I think, had been killed by Nazis.
You have to look at in context. Racial identity was a big thing back then and not just a Nazi thing, German/European Jews also had racial identity rules - which were than adopted by the Nazis to determine who was or wasn't a Jew and used in the Wansee Conference.
Its wild being an american seeing that there are even more parallels between what's going on here and what went on in Germany than I could even imagine... Its like a mirror image distorted by time
Trying to restrict art and literature, viewing women as breeding machines, teaching kids to use guns... Are we talking about German Nazis or US Republicans here?
literally any long lasting society in human history viewed women as breeding machines (quite literally what they are created to do), and most societies during that time period also viewed modernist socially liberal artwork/ideologies as degenerate N0zis got some stuff right such as their nationalism, anti feminism, anti modernity and animal rights but their racism, anti semitism, militarism, centralized economics and leadership were beyond evil
If you press the cog symbol at the top of the screen, you can change the playback speed of the video. I usually put the subtitles on & reduce the speed a little. 😊
Weird might NOT make the best description of Nazi ideology, since Nazis were themselves indoctrinated into seeking to exterminate weirdness. Added to which, a very sizeable proportion of modern-day society could be and frequently are easily labelled as weird; and there are also many amongst them who are quite proud of their having been labelled weird. And even those who often use this word may not always be entirely malicious in their intent. (We often now talk of 'weird' and 'wonderful' in the same breath.) Other than that slight quibble, I am mostly appreciative of this vlog. But I would also recommend the 2018 book, 'Asperger's Children - The Origins of Autism in Nazi Vienna' by Edith Sheffer. BTW, I think it is important to note here that Asperger lived and worked in extremely difficult and contradictory times. And there are also those who have villified Sheffer for daring to critique the renowned life and work of the (almost certainly) highly-conflicted Asperger. So I would definitely NOT join the influential writer, Steve Silberman, in describing it as a bloody awful book.
I wish Simon's channels didn't have music. The audio isn't ever correct when there's music. His voice isn't as loud as it should be or the music isn't as soft as it should be. He doesn't need any music over what he's saying. His scripts (from his scriptwriters) are always well done. The video editting is really good. And Simon is an excellent narrator. The music seriously takes you out of what he's saying because someone like me (who's hearing impaired) has a really hard time hearing his voice over the music because it's NOT balanced right. Music is meant to be subtle not overbearing. Please...turn it down or don't put it in at all. You only need it while he's NOT talking the rest of the time he's talking so you don't need music. Please.
I agree. The music is a distraction if the objective is to communicate. So much of the music is played so loud one gets the impression the music is supposed to take priority and the show is suppose to be about the music. In other words the tail is wagging the dog.
Could we get a video on the deprogramming that Germans went through after the war? Like how did we get to how Germany is today after so much indoctrination among the youth? That would be an interesting video!
Eugenics = German?
All symbolism was rapidly abolished, all flags, all Hitler portraits and busts, all swastikas from buildings, all 'Mein Kampf's,
The complete leadership was arrested.
More different indoctination

Your story only highlights how severely others and their history as well as future were destroyed.
We know some were forged. Although I don't think it was for the SS.
@@jacqueschouette7474 That sort of thing happened all over what had been occupied Europe.
She was a kid herself. I really feel sorry for her.
@Sienisota
Yeah.
I think he already covered him
That is a great book ❤
We're all do these skills in Australia too.
I completely agree with your side note. I thought of it myself during a lot of the educational requirements. Physical fitness, check, household skills, check. The girls actually received a far more useful education. Managing a home is hard work, even if you have hired help. There's so much economic planning involved.

Comic book fans like the comic while historians understand what Sparta was like and nobody praises them so what are you talking about?
This is also the time when democracies came into being, then the Nazis came in and toppled a Western European country back to being ruled by, effectively, an emperor. When you look at all the nazi top brass non of them could be considered Aryan 😂
Neither would Himmler, Goebbels or Goering qualify . . .
IF a game named 'Bombers over London' had Scapa Flow as a target, it really doesn't say much for their navigation! Don't forget that in the UK during the 1980's you could buy an 'Action Man' Panzer Captain, and believe it or not, and Action Man 'Camp Commander' complete with wooden baton!
Except the video games your talking about are made for adults hence adult themes and situations.

Hahaha
Your local government is just as busy subverting your country but this time with mass immigration, critical race theory, diversity and LGBTQ indoctrination in schools and media 😅
For the Nazis being blonde hair and blue-eyed was not as important as being Aryan. If you were Slavic and had blonde hair and blue eyes, which is common for Slavs, you were still considered subhuman.

Fun Fact: "The Producers" uses actual nazi propaganda, as in the hilarious play that makes no sense that the 2 main characters end up producing is a real nazi play that actually existed. It was just taken seriously in Germany because fascism doesn't allow criticism, but in a freer country, it's propaganda value absolutely falls apart with the first chuckle.
OMG - in our family that would have to be our most favourtie musical movie EVER. Seriously - even our kids who are now young adults, we schooled them in history as it was a subject that got removed from school - and so they actually got most of the jokes in the film, and also know every word to every song! So so funny. ive seen earlier versions and theyre nothing close to the amazing end sequence show. And seriously - the songs are just pure gold. Probably the best payback by Mel Brooks and cool he had a secret role!
?
@floxy20 "The Producers" is a Mel Brooks movie about 2 struggling Broadway Producers who come across a nazi play that, when removed from the context of nazi Germany is so ridiculous it comes across as a parody. Seriously it's got ballerinas dressed as pretzels and tap dancing SS officers.
Antifascism allows very little freedom to support fascism, and would prefer to allow none.
@steel8231 and America has been so successful in its victory that it now has men dressed up as women, and degenerates twerking for children. Remind me again which societal model is the more ridiculous?

He was half Jewish too! The self delusion must have been significant!

As a person who suffers from sun allergy and every form of arthritis and autoimmune disorders...... I get it.
It's not acceptable to be a straight "cis white male"

@@stewartmiddleton4527 I can believe that. Goebbels was a genius at marketing and propaganda. It was probably the most effective PR campaign of all time. His playbook has been used for decades since by a wide variety of governments, and has been used in marketing campaigns and other matters since.

Technically there is no such thing as an Aryan Race. The closest racial identity would be the Nordic Race.

It’s honestly not too different from what’s going on in Russia, today.

3:42 So kids were taken from their families BECAUSE they were “superior”. Did any of these kids get reunited with their families?

(We often now talk of 'weird' and 'wonderful' in the same breath.)
Other than that slight quibble, I am mostly appreciative of this vlog.

I agree. The music is a distraction if the objective is to communicate. So much of the music is played so loud one gets the impression the music is supposed to take priority and the show is suppose to be about the music. In other words the tail is wagging the dog.
