  • So, as many of you have seen in the previous videos of going stage two in my Volkswagen Golf R - my engine decided to stop working and we established we needed a new one.
    I decided to bring my car to Ares Tuning Ltd, who are very quickly becoming the most well known experts and builders of these engines in the UK.
    They did an amazing job with mine and I am now able to enjoy driving my car once again.
    The Facebook page for Ares Tuning ⬇️⬇️⬇️

    Cylinder head stripped down, cleaned, valves cleaned and seats cut and re-lapped in
    Piston rings gapped for larger boost application
    All new gaskets and seals
    New direct injectors
    New timing chain tensioners and guides
    New lower timing cover
    New coolant outlet valve

    Happy for you mate, you must be relieved it's all over and you get to enjoy your car again. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen to mine.

      Thanks very much! I’m well chuffed to have it back! To even be back driving it after such a long period of time feels great, forgot how much I missed it. It runs better than before and have that piece of mind now too 💯 would recommend Ares Tuning to anyone 🚀
      Hopefully won’t happen yours, a big giveaway for mine was the oil consumption, definitely knew myself it wasn’t right and even VW told me this when I let them check it over, how wrong were they…

    My Turbo blew up, the car stayed at the workshop for a month to clean all the oil from the pipes, and put new parts on the engine, new turbo and etc. I also installed two dual exhaust tips Akrapovic + custom muffler. And now the car has more air, power and it will prevent it from another fail. It's probably the best mod that I've done on the car to be like mk 7.5 !

    What caused the oil pressure issue though?

    • @cpjcarz
      @cpjcarz  Місяць тому

      Not sure, was just told it was an oil pressure issue that caused it - probably from running low on oil at some stage or throughout its life before I bought it maybe, I was filling it up quite frequently in between complete oil changes.
      Could have even been a failed oil pump. Anything really but all sorted now.

    What does it cost for all that work to be done to the engine ?

    • @cpjcarz
      @cpjcarz  Місяць тому

      The work itself was £4300

    jesus christ 5 grand the cars worth 10k

    • @cpjcarz
      @cpjcarz  Місяць тому

      In what world lmao, if that was the case I wouldn’t have bothered fixing it.
      Over in NI you would struggle to find a clean one and DSG for less than £15k, and that’s around 90k miles too.
      Not to mention I was offered £10k by a salvage yard when it broke with them looking to fix it and make money on it.
      In the Republic of Ireland, these cars are well over €25k for MK7, with the MK7.5 going for nearly €40k - being an NI registered car I can sell it to them for a good deal in their books because they don’t have to pay as much VRT on them…

    How much did that cost?

    • @cpjcarz
      @cpjcarz  Місяць тому

      Roughly £5k all in with a two year warranty - covers transporting the car to wales and driving it home too.
      Not bad considering 2nd hand engines are £3.5k-£4k alone with no guarantee.

      @@cpjcarz "The work itself was £4300". So the parts and transport were 700 ???

    • @cpjcarz
      @cpjcarz  Місяць тому

      @@doejonmeant it as the works and parts were £4300, all included - OEM Crankshaft alone is £950 for example….
      Was £300 to get the car brought there on the back of a lorry.
      The ferry home and my flight was around £220, full tank of shell Vpower was £85, then any food and stuff I bought while travelling home…

    Sounds like fuel in the oil washing the crank
