The great Paul Stamets swears by the stuff, very interesting claims indeed!
Just IDed a false turkey tail the hairy curtain crust / Stereum hirsutum based on your video. Very helpful!
I genuinely laughed out loud at “hairy curtain crust” 😂
Haha yeah it still gets me. There's some great mushroom names. Hairy nuts disco has to be the best 😆
@@UKWILDCRAFTS 😂😂😂 For real?
Very interesting video my friend
Thanks for sharing
Greetings
Another great nugget of info, often spot Turkey Tail on a walk but never thought much about it. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge
You're welcome 👍
Great Video Mate, just this weekend I found some in The Forest of Bowland. After watching your video, I no have a positive ID. Thank you.
Some very good information, thanks for the video.
Cheers 😊
Good ID tips . Thanks.
👍😁
And now I'm here! Lol great channel, subbed
Thanks 😊
Brother if you put the mushroom in a flask at 70 -80 degrees C and leave overnight you will have a much stronger infusion. Love your work...Thank you!
Thanks that’s a good idea 😊
Cut them into small bits and simmer for 30 min. Will be stronger too
Do you organise any identification nature walks? Your talks and videos are always so interesting. Thank you
Ah thanks. Not yet but it's something I'm looking into for the future
Hello, good channel, by the way, I've learned a lot watching from your videos.
Do you have any idea how long these Turkey tails will last once they are dried out?
Thanks.
They should last pretty much indefinitely. At least a few years
@@UKWILDCRAFTS I've had some from 2017 they were dried out on the windowsill & sealed in a jar.
I will use them for making some tea.
Thanks for your reply very helpful.
It seems to be that to get the nutrients out of these hard mushrooms it requires a longer brewing time.
Thanks, I've found Turkey Tail locally on Silver Birch logs. Is Silver Birch a hardwood?
Yes Silver birch is a hardwood 😊
@@UKWILDCRAFTS Thanks, I tried Turkey Tail tea for the first time today. Very nice gourmet mushroom flavour!
Can you make tea from the fresh turkey tail mushrooms that you've picked that day, Lewis, or do you always have to dry them first?
You can use them fresh or dried :)
@@UKWILDCRAFTS Happy days, thanks, mate :) .
I found some turkey tail close to my home. But it looks a bit... Old 😅 is it still good to harvest? Thanks in advance! Amazing videos BTW!!
I think it’s better fresh. Keep an eye out on old stumps, it should be coming up everywhere soon :)
@@UKWILDCRAFTS thank you! I can't wait! I'm identifying so many plants because of your videos! Love the foraging by month videos 🙂
Hi thanks for the info can I have it fresh in tea?
Yep it’s fine fresh or dried 😊
Can it grow on taxus?
It rarely grows on conifers but it can
