I've been driving truck for 15 years, and have been using one model or another of the Plantronics Voyager for about 12 of those years. I settled on the Voyager after LOTS of trial and error, and wasted money, between my brother and I (he is also a driver). In those twelve years I've replaced my Plantronics about 6 times, due to theft or damage, but see absolutely *NO REASON* to try another bluetooth headset. The Voyagers have served me very well. I just purchased my latest, a 5200, a few hours ago.

How has it held up? I recently got my cdl and just ordered one. I spent about $200 on a blueparroy headset 2 weeks ago and am going to see if i can return it tomorrow, i dont like the bulk and how it feels on my head

@@thegeth4293 I've had the one that I'm using now for awhile. Honestly, they hold up pretty well, given the abuse I put them through. I've been driving in the stone business for a few years, which is a ridiculously dusty environment. I drive in and out of quarries all day. Awhile back, I tore one of the removable rubber ear pieces off, but just replaced it with one of the others it came with. It really is a quality product that has met my needs. They also sell a case/charger, specifically for the voyager, which I'd also recommend, to protect it when not in use. It also helps keep it charged up.

Plantronics 5200 still the best in handling extreme noise environments. The 8200 UC is probably second best followed by the 6200 UC. The 6200 UC gets really choppy in such environments unless you are willing to talk really really loud. Only downside to using the 5200 UC in such noisy environments is I can't hear the other party

Now that I am working from home, I spend a lot of time on the pone. I bought the 5220. I walked out side in the wind expecting the noise on the call to be noticable. when I asked the caller if they could hear the wind they said no. I did similar test with cars, youtube video playing and finally an airplane that was flying low enough it was loud enough I almost could not hear the caller. They could not hear the airplane. I am amazed it can be this good at getting rid of the noise.

Excellent. You have done the perfect testing that other reviewers just simply blabber and read the specs already mentioned.

I read a comment on Amazon for the 5200 model and a user said all was okay with mic noise cancellation until the dog started barking. A sudden noise gets picked up but a consistent noise like generator, bus or train terminal wouldn’t make much difference. Can you cover this too?

    1. Will be working in very noisy environments and have a need to isolate the external noises so that my clients can hear me properly
    2. Will be frequently traveling so need a portable solution
    3. I take a lot of office calls on the go and the mic and voice quality takes precedence over the sound output from the headphones (i'm not an audiophile)
    4. Battery life should be good
    5. Mic can be boom or boom-less but I'm very specific about noise coming from external sources into the ears and through the mic
    6. Ready to shell out anywhere between $300-$400
I did look into a few solutions like Plantronics 4200/8200/focus uc, sennheiser pxc, jabra evolve, but I'm confused which one to go for. Your help will be much appreciated

It works like a charm with every video conferencing app with a smartphone via Bluetooth, but in order to have a very good quality in use with a PC, in apps like Teams, Skype, Google Meet etc, you'll need the UC version, which adds a USB dongle (BT600). Normal Bluetooth dongle, or any integrated Bluetooth chip in a laptop, won't work properly, at least in Windows.

And by the way what’s the difference between plantronics voyager 5200 vs 5200 uc and which is more efficient and affordable.Your answer will be appreciated :).

Okay thank you so much but I read this article here www.google.com/amp/s/www.bestadvisor.com/amp/bluetooth-headsets/plantronics-voyager-5200-vs-plantronics-206110-01
It shows that the noise cancellation of 5200 uc is yes and the 5200 is active I’m confused.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I ask a lot of questions because me and my wife are trying to buy this kind of headset that can block the noise of dogs and rooster, because we’re working at home and this dogs and rooster really noisy.

Call One, Inc. Gr8 i got air pods pro. Got them for the reason they have ANC but there is a catch. The ANC works when both the buds are in, thats a bummer but lets see how it goes for a week else will get voyager 5200 which i was longing to buy. Cheers and super review exactly the way ANC should be tested.

Adding on top of previous reply where i mention ANC works with both ear buds in but thats not true. ANC works with single ear bug too, have to enable it manually by going into Settings-> Accessibility->Airpods. Phew lets try them full on for a week with no grudges lol

Hi @daboxer181, sorry to hear about your experience. We've done several mic tests with the Poly Voyager 5200, which performs well each time. No headset mic blocks 100% of background noise, but they do a good job isolating your voice. Interested in learning more about your environment and where you are taking calls. Are you paired with your mobile phone, connected to a computer, or both? Same experience? I recently tested the Voyager 5200 and other headsets in a noisy coffee shop. the sound is because of the extreme noise canceling. Very effective if you ask me for the situation. A buy from me.

You should have tried it against the electric fan. That's all we care about

    • @leorosa
      @leorosa 3 роки тому

@@CallOneInc thanks, as in the Philippines, the most important thinkg to cancel are electric fans as we use it for work, and obviously can't when it's heard on the audio. If a headset can block it out so we don't perspire much, and it's budget friendy 'Here, take my money!' hehe.
