I am 38 years old and never finish school. I am so glad to come across this ch and your videos. My math is so bad. Your speech is clear as day and your methods work great. Thank you for making this video.
I'm glad someone finally explained a little about what the problem MEANS. By explaining the meaning behind 4 + ( -7 ), it helped me understand the REASON for doing the problem in the first place. Very helpful to know WHY you're doing something!
Have been out of school for, ahem, a few years. When your video popped up I decided it was time for some refreshment. Each night I watch a video just to make sure I remember the basics. You make things easier by far than this “new and better” method they are using to teach my grandson. Thank you for reminding this older lady I still got it when it comes to math.
I just want to start off by saying. Thank you for typing it out on screen for us to read! This allows me to pause and read while hearing you. This enhances the learning experience. Please continue to do this in ALL videos and to break it down for those of us bad a math
This is my second video I have watched from your channel and it was SO informative. Even though it was a few years ago, THANK YOU for helping all the people around the globe with these videos. As a result, I can now proceed with math problems without procrastinating. I wish I had you as an instructor years ago!
I just to say "Thank You", so so much, because I have a Learning Disability and I've tried over and over on UA-cam to try to Learn this, and Today is the First time, that I Finally Understand this!!! I am 38 Year's Old and I have a Brain Condition that makes it Difficult for me to Catch on and You've Helped me so much, I'm trying to Lean Math to go back and Get my High School Diploma hopefully this Year, I will be learning through your Video's as much as I can!! Please keep me in Your Prayer's, as I'm really trying to Achieve New Goal's!!!
Out of all the adding and subtracting integers videos I've seen yours is the best!!!! you took your time explaining the rules and you were super amazing with your examples. this video finally helped me understand when to subtract integers and add.
My wife is preparing to take the GED test, and so, of course, she asked for my help. I took a lot of math in high school and college, but I was in high school over twenty years ago, and my last college class was over ten years ago. She came to me saying, "If I have two negatives, I subtract." I replied, "No." "Then why am I getting the right answer?!?" She countered. Then, during the ensuing debate, it came out that she was talking about subtracting integers, which, to me, is three negatives, not two. I couldn't remember ever subtracting two negatives, so I came to UA-cam and found your video. AEWSOME!!! It might be because I love to write, but I loved the idea of it being a story and the third negative being like a double negative in a sentence. That analogy really helped me. THANKS!!!
Wowwww I understood your method for the first time in my life I had found my teacher already 🙏🏼thank you im63yrs old and I’m soo happy I got it thank you 😊 yayyy Tiffany your good..
tysm im in 7th grade this year and I couldn’t log into my zoom classes and see how to do the work so I came here and you helped so much! This video just got a like😀
Im reviewing integers so I can get in compacted classes for 7th grade, thank you so much this video helped me remember how to add and subtract integers
Method#1: Add the opposite. Method#2: Use a number line. I think this steps here are pretty simple for me. You've made it so easy for me. THANKS A LOT MAAM!!!
Hi Tiffany, ALGEBRA is my DOWNFALL. I haven’t graduated from college because of ALGERBA. It paralyzes me when I see and ALGERBA problem. YOU are helping me so VERY much. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for these videos. Please take care and stay safe. ~Barbara
16:28 how do you know if your subtracting the number?? And not adding? Do you have to subtract for all the subtracting integer math problems or for some do you have to add?
I am 37 yrs old in college and math has always been a tough subjuct for me but honey i feel like i am a math genuis nobody has ever made math this easy for me thank you soooooooooo much
I was in special Ed and I was doing 5th grade math but after I graduated I wanted to know all the math I wasn’t able to learn in school so far I’ve learned integers, square roots and algebra the next thing I’ll have to learn is percentages in my math book I bought all the spectrum math books,McGraw hill ,Sylvan, workbook for dummies, grades 1-8 practice problems workbooks (forgot the name of those books) it’s easier to understand it now then it was nearly 12 years ago and your videos have helped me out a lot
8:44 I don't understand..I mean what's the point of placing that plus symbol here (-10 + (-6)) . Plus means move right and minus means move left. Right? Which sign do we have to consider while moving a number (left and right) on number line. Number sign(+-) or arithmetic sign(+-)?
You are an genius. I didn’t understand my math teacher, however, you taught me everything about adding and subtracting integers. I wish you were my math teacher😂. You are my life saver and I got a good score!!!😊 Sooo thank u😊😊

Quick question (when subtracting)- so are we only changing the sign of the number in parentheses or is it always the number to the right?!

Great question! It’s always the number to the right. Sometimes it will be in parenthesis and sometimes it won’t be. Happy learning!

what about when the problem is -1 - -5 would you still add and keep the sign bc I’m doing a worksheet and it says the answer is +4
Minus times mins is plus.
- - 5 =( -1 x -5) = +5
So -1 - - 5 = -1 + 5 = +4
You are a great teacher ❤️
Thank you! 😃
