I love watching your videos. I did my maths GCSE 7yrs ago as a 43yr old adult. I passed thank goodness on my first attempt.
However, 7yrs later I find I’ve forgotten most of it but it’s nice to keep dipping in & having a go at some problems. I’m actually surprising myself how much I do remember.

I have a question? How would you know to divide instead of multiply? I understand that when the variable is attached to a number multiplying is in order and also why didn't you divide the 20 with the opposite of the likepositive 20 on both sides. I'm trying to learn Algebra at a ripe age of 60 any and all help is appreciated. Thank You
U would just do the inverse operation of whatever the original problem is...

It brought back some memories of doing these kinds of math problems when I was in junior high school or high school.
Middle school math song that help me remember was “ Same sign add and keep different sign subtract keep the the sign of the greater number and you be exact”. I believe that how it go 😂
I didn't know that, but it is easier just using logic.
We chanted this: “Signs same, find the sum. Signs different, find the difference.”

I had to learn a lot of rules, but never the reason behind it. In the first example, the rule is when you take a number and place it on the other side, you must change the sign. It was called (erroneously) transposing. It would be nice if the emphasis was placed on the power of the equal sign. Anything you do on the left side of the equal sign, you must do the same to the right side to keep the equality.

Solve -10=t-7 use transposition please quick!
First you isolate the variable 't'. To do that you can use inverse operations.
t-7 +7 = -10 + 7
t + ( 7-7 ) = -10 + 7
t = -3

Not sure where I picked this up but at the end of the video, I was trying to multiply -50 to both sides
You can also get the correct answer by multiplying both sides by -50 in the begining. 😊

Here's a question for you with the negative -50 ÷t = -5. Why would somebody make up that equation. Like that in the first place because of tea is -5 I was wondering how you got the what the t value was to begin with and then you just said it was -5 so it's just -50 / -5 and you get 10 that whole integer thing didn't even need to be there it's kind of ridiculous I understand that's how they are doing it for some reason but why why are they adding something that isn't there in the first place.

Which is - 22

Wow no wonder Americans don’t understand and hate MATH because you teachers make it looks so complicated,getting students to lost intre rest in math. Math it’s so easy when you have a good teacher. Less talk it’s more . Simple way ,to find the value of the “letter” move the number on the other side of = and change the negative in positive or positive in negative and add with the nu,bet on the other side of = Simple as that! Less talk ,simple talk it’s better and don’t confuse students!
