- On this video, I attempt my very first caveman styled tomahawk steak on the Weber Kettle.
Caveman styled cooking is when you place your food directly on the hot coals.

Dry aged prime tomahawk steak from Beef Palace! A fun part of bbq is making it happen and using your wits! Nice save!
Can’t always make it seem like every cook is perfect! I learned a valuable lesson during this one though. Don’t throw thick steak on the coals. Leave that for the thin pieces that don’t require a longer cook time. Almost ruined a very valuable piece of meat.

Subbing for the weber content, looks good. What kind of lump you prefer on the kettle?
I’m currently using Royal Oak and Jealous Devil but I’d be lying if I told you I could tell the difference. They’re both bags full of small to medium size chunks which are great for lighting quickly. I can’t pick out any flavor difference though. Maybe others can.
