I got this app purely off the back of this video. This man is one talented amigo. One of my mates has been following his work since day one and put me onto him. Awesome
not even 30 seconds into watching this and the application is downloading already, and it cant download quick enough, cant wait to get using it, what a spectacular looking tool. big up native instruments.
This app is absolutely a MUST HAVE for any producer/music lover ! It's so intuitive, and the quantize is perfect ! The first app I bought and I don't miss my 5 bucks.
This Dude Jamie Lidell is jammin, the man's got talent. This is for sure get down jump music, I just love it. Jam Jamie. No Haters, if so can you do what he does.?
this performance is 100% authentic - everything you're hearing WAS in fact recorded using the iPod touch internal mic (there is a room mic for where jamie is recording the backing vocals as you cannot monitor live when recording to a pad) - if you look at the mixer before jamie records the main vocal, you'll see that FX1 is turned on, so yes, you are hearing a chorus effect on the lead vocal.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I've been doing research all day, and realized that NI is having a sale on Maschine this month so I'm definitely in. I appreciate the heads up on the Mikro, I'll probably be getting the bigger version.
Really? He really did that on one take? For me, I had to practise a bit to sketch up a beat and he took only a few minutes to finish an entire song?!?!?!?!? How awesome can this guy get man!!!!
Truly outstanding I wish I can be like you I have to watch the video again and again great job brother amazing am blown away. If you come out to California please let me know I will pay for a lesson.👍👑🤩
YEP.......got my apps installed last night!!! and i have 2 itouch 3g's so now instead of sixteen pads i got 32 pads of pure awesomeness!!!! plus the expansion apps are pretty dope 2!!!!
So well done... on Jamie's part and Native Instruments. Class act! I just wish you made it for my Android platform. Please let me know when it's in Beta... I'll help test it. ; )
@Gizmondo23 Well I don't own anything by apple, so I don't know how this works, but something I did notice is that when he records the BVs it appears to be through a dif channel to when he records his main voc. He could quite easily have a mic channel set up to record with that effect already on that channel...that's how it looks to me anyway :) Looks like he has a lot of stuff already set up on the app, which you would doing a live performance!
I also startet on iMaschine and the workflow is in fact quite similar but much more advanced on Maschine. So (obviously) it's more efficient - and fun - than on iMaschine. But I would recomend Maschine, not Mikro, because MIDI comes in handy and recording filter manipulation on the fly is a powerfull feature Mikro does not have.
@reinsreins that's a really good point, plus how is the vocal being recorded?? Does the iphone have a mic as good as that??! If so i am a convert as i'm a singer/songwriter
Is the work flow of Maschine pretty similar to this app? I started using it 3 days ago, and am more productive with it than I've been in my 4 or 5 months with Ableton Live. If the Machine (or Micro) is similar I'm sold.
This will be available on the ipad, also. the song is "little bit more," but this is a different version. My bet is that Android will never get apps like this. Once I saw that this was coming out, I immediately decided that I needed to jump off the good ship Android and set sail on a sea of Iphone bliss.
@Gizmondo23 One thing I would say though is I'd be very surprised if the mic used to record his vocals was the one on the phone! If it was me recording this I'd have a boom mic in the room to rec his main vox at the same time he sings into the phone, then I'd ditch the phone main voc and keep my boom mic rec version to put on the track...you'd never tell!
@monkeymusic look at 3:58... you will see a black square over his head (actually its right from him but in that angle it looks like its over him) they filmed over his shouler and zoomed in... at 3:58 they forgott to hide it --- in other angles you dont see that square so i guess they edited the picture so you dont see the cam..
Haven't found one yet. I hope you're not talking about using the iPhone version on an iPad. 'cause this version only supports iPhone resolution. A native iPad version would have more elements on the screen and therefore more possibilities. So when you find a native - no, not native instruments ;-) - version of iMaschine, tell me quickly!
You should absolutely put some of your own field recordings into it! It doesn't have to be other people's sounds. Ultimately I decided not to take the plunge just yet, indeed what I've learned I was able to take back to Ableton. At the end of the day I find that I still have a lot of arrangement/workflow/stylistic problems to fix before buying new hardware. That said It does look like a _really_ cool toy, for when I'm ready. Cheers!
He really was ahead of his time
Some people were just born to make music, man's a legend!
10 years on and this gets better and better and better with age.

That is what you call real talent I can really appreciate it
Excellent concept and execution for this whole ad and of course Mr Lidell's jam
This Dude Jamie Lidell is jammin, the man's got talent. This is for sure get down jump music, I just love it. Jam Jamie. No Haters, if so can you do what he does.?
Seen Jamie live...he's absolute quality. Hope he makes it over in the states.

I saw the video and before it was over I was downloading it. Brilliant, this is going to be GREAT for my productions!
That was nasty--an impressive demonstration--ideals, inspiration will never be lost again.
the universe is stars and the iOS By Apple Hand to hand with Native instruments!
Jamie Lidell's "A Little Bit More" is phAenomenal! And then he's totally sketching it out on the NI iMaschine iPhone app. Check it out
Always nice to see mature people on UA-cam :D
Thanks for the info. Yeah I've been doing research all day, and realized that NI is having a sale on Maschine this month so I'm definitely in. I appreciate the heads up on the Mikro, I'll probably be getting the bigger version.
@umpqua42 It's plugged into the built in 4 pole headphone jack (it's an iPod touch so the jack is on the bottom) that can recieve an audio in

@tjmehta both ohm versions are called DT-770 Pro
Good boy Jamie !
@monkeymusic its at 3:24 on the left and the top, see it there? angle looks right aswell if u examine when his glasses come into frame on the right.
Very cool.
Wicked Nice!
This app alone makes me want to buy an iPad!
I need you to put this track out so I can buy it. I love this live remix.
impresionante!!!!
yeah, nice sound and nice house.
luck, man!!!
your music is great!!!
Just saw this video for the first time and it's awesome. I just don't understand why they took out iMaschine out of the phones.
WOW!

U r right about what he's saying. a little bit more.
UA-cam "secret lemonade drinker" in his PJs Jamie is a dead ringer!
Great software but not everybody is as talended as Jamie!

nice stuff
Always been a Jamie Lidell fan. A lot of people like to compare him with Mayer Hawthorne. Mayer Hawthorne merely re-creates. Jamie Lidell CREATES.
Ok NI please say your in the works for a release on ANDROID. Pure Nastiness!
i like the song
0:18 where's the camera?
really nice :D
@THURO agreed. i love this version better than the one on his album.
Amazing how good his vocals sound considering it's recorded into an ipod using the built in microphone
very good :)
@studiocircus01 no he doesnt... its an ipod touch (look at the back and at 2:20 you can see the home button)

@professorbew they look like beyer dt 770.. note there is a pro version with higher ohm-age that wont run well of an iphone..
i want an instrumental version!
@Gizmondo23 One thing I would say though is I'd be very surprised if the mic used to record his vocals was the one on the phone!

Some day he's gonna write that song.
This is the single sole reason that I as a dedicated hard android fan will be getting an ipad in the very near future.
sick. that's it.
nice one
holy shit what a house!
@monkeymusic is it at about 3:25 when something sneaks in to the top of the frame?
Anyone know if he was using a specific kit or expansion pack?
Like a Boss ♪♫♪
Nice house!!
at 1:14 and 3:34 seconds u can actualy spot a camera on the right side of his head, the rest are of course extra shots...
@theAtotheJay they reversed the iphone, the jack is underneath, in his palm
So... why is the headphone jack on the bottom of the iPhone?
New Jamie Lidell album please.
niceeee
... "Taking a dump" Has a Whole New Meaning Now
@monkeymusic look at 3:58... you will see a black square over his head (actually its right from him but in that angle it looks like its over him) they filmed over his shouler and zoomed in... at 3:58 they forgott to hide it --- in other angles you dont see that square so i guess they edited the picture so you dont see the cam..
This has alot of features, that should of been in 1.7
WOW
will it come for android aswell?
OMG!!!
google PLAY download ??

this app makes me want to have an iphone instead an android phone for the first time ever

@MrBrandonPeoples I don't mean distortion, I mean it sounds like a effect like done kind of filter our something.
Just wondering. Where is the other camera at??? U see him but u dont see the camera recording his phone, lol.
