Don't blame you, as GOAT as Jeremy Ellis is on drum pads, it's so hard to find anything past 5 years or so. This definitely is one of his better segments that was able to combine all of his fanbase.
I met Jeremy at Soundwave music fest on Vancouver Island last year and he was a straight up nice guy. Great to see him getting the recognition he deserves.
hopefully they'll be inspired to play like themselves, like we all should .. Jeremy's just showing what can be done with, I'm sure, lots of experimentation and practice, finding his own sound ...
No one will ever be as good a guitar player as Tommy Emmanuel, either. Plenty of guitarists though who write perfectly acceptable music. So you don't need to be THIS good using a Maschine to make music with it.
WHAT FUCKING SORCERY DID I JUST WITNESS?! Now begins the 17 hour journey down the UA-cam rabbit hole searching for every video Jeremy Ellis has ever made...
Your observation is quite accurate given the fact that Jeremy is originally a pianist. Like many other members of his family used to be. He picked up his passion for drum machines later. Now he's using piano techniques for making electronic music on NI Maschine systems. You see a normal drum set wouldn't give you all the other sounds available and blended into it on Maschine. It's quite a different concept.
Done deal. After debating for months this has answered my questions about wheatear or not it was capable of performing to my other hardware. Straight next level
I can’t believe I got an mpc over this back in the day, I ended up selling all my music production equipment, now I’m thinking about buying the maschine+ I think it is, but I’m also looking at the mpcx, like I love akai and I’ve never touched a maschine but in a perfect world I would have both
If you think like that, you are eliminating the infinite possibilities that other tools can give you. Jeremy Ellis started like a jazz and funk piano player, saw this machines and he combined all his abilities as a musician dj and sampler maniac like all of the people who likes to mix and remixing stuff. Good luck! Keep inventing and reinventing stuff my friend, I hope you find a good use for my advice :)
7 years old....watching this again and still amazed. Jeremy you are def a finger drumming pioneer and there are few (maybe none) that have come close to this level on Maschine. Are you going to do Machine MK3 vids? Pads are bigger and way more responsive. I can only imagine what you'll do unless you're fingers are all broken from arthritis by now haha.
🔊Next level skills man, impressive display of form, accuracy, dexterity, and execution of hella badass switchups. On a scale from 1 to 10 we give it a 1,000,000,000,000🔊🔥🌋🔊
Love watching him kill it on these. This one is insane, on some Just Blaze loose beats wild isht. Just noticing, however, that this vid doesn't have the 'All done in one take' announcement like the others and there are some flash frames that are likely covering edits. Not to take anything away from what he's able to do - I probably can't do even 2 measures of beats he's generating.
Most bands don't use programmed drums and when they do it's purposely using sounds you can't make on an acoustic kit however they often 'quantize' them so they sit in time better. I'm not into metal much but a friend played me a few tracks from Catch 33 by Meshuggah and then told me afterwards that that the drums were from the 'Drumkit from Hell' program and I was blown away with the quality. I honestly never would have thought it was possible to make programmed drums so like a normal kit.
9 years later still coming back for this 👍
I only just remembered this today after being shown it 9 years ago
Maybe interesting, the song he samples is called "Lord Of The Golden Baboon" by Mandrill

You won sir lol 😂
Through The Mists Of Time, you have still won 😂
His precision is stunning... wow... I mean, just one of these sections would be impressive, but to weave it all together like this... again, wow!
I searched for this guy for half an hour to show my brother What Beatmaking looked like even 10 Years Ago. Legend!!!
You know your references 😎
great job weasley
ahah xD i tought the same shit
THIS DUDE SCRATCHED ON A MASCHINE
No
would make sense if that was a maschine studio (that has a jogwheel).
but this ....
its not scratching, its sampling. he's not a dj.
Patrick Booth we know bruh.
A DJ could never do this. He's actually performing...
Great Job Professor Lupin
The only hands in the world I cannot beat. You are the Master, Ellis.
DAMN!!
Check out my MASCHINE MK2 Finger Drumming Sunday Jam Session :

this is a great drum machine, seriously. dude is hitting everything so lightly but still nailing it.
2020 and still FIRE. 🔥🔥🔥
This guy has such great rhythm and style. I love it so much. I'd so love to see him perform live.
Just saw him tonight and hes AMAZING honestly he nailed it!!
Full eargasm with those powerful scratches 👌
This ads makes many people buy this piece, and found later that they can never play like him.
if you dont practice like him dont expect play like him lol some people want easy everything...
hopefully they'll be inspired to play like themselves, like we all should .. Jeremy's just showing what can be done with, I'm sure, lots of experimentation and practice, finding his own sound ...
awstian He has set the bar a bit bloody high though eh

the point in the ads are to show what you can achieve with them. to show off their maximum potential
I've been using Mikro for more than a year but not like this guy. This guy puts me in awe. Absolutely amazing. Makes you wanna give up.
Incredible precision and skill
WHAT FUCKING SORCERY DID I JUST WITNESS?! Now begins the 17 hour journey down the UA-cam rabbit hole searching for every video Jeremy Ellis has ever made...
I met this guy before. He was born with 3 extra fingers under his wrists.
Still watching this in 2021, awesome!!!!
FLAWLESS VICTORY!
hahah YES
My friend showed my this video long ago & it made me want one. Still great!
Jeremy Ellis is so dope.
Here after 7 years to let y’all know this vid inspired me to be a finger drummer/producer thanks you
That means a lot! ✨
I love the scratching part very creative
*12 anos e ainda voto like 👍 pra esta performance!*
*Like Dr who on the beat machine*
Wonder what kind of music he would get out of me with those fingers LMAO
Anunit Ishtar I knew it wouldn't take long..lolol
Jeremy Sears you couldn't expect less from me... lol
Nope. I couldn't. I guess l know better by now.

no scratching, great drumming as always
He just gave us a clue as to where music and the world in general are going. I'm so glad I am old and close to death.
LMFAAOO I'M DEEAAD
Lol absolutely
his awkward pose is what makes him cool to me :P
This has been my inspiration actually to start finger drumming!
well....atleast ive got the ending pose down
lol

The Maschine Mikro is pretty fun!
10 años y todavia nadie supera este video de fingerdrummig, grande Jeremy

I think the Maschine was learning how to play on Jeremy !! O.o
hahaha
This man started it all ‼️💯🥺
Must be good at Cookie Clicker.
ahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Fucking lord lmfao
Genuine lolz :). Well done sir
this has left me pondering the big questions
They cut out the part when the Maschine Mikro started to burn =P
Loved the performance
What a king
caution: if you actually elbow and break the maschine you won't get a refund lol
Jeremy Ellis is the king of Poly Rhythms.
ask google for yourself.
His hands remind me of "Thing" running across the floor.
Ellis' way of placing sounds on pads is so beautiful to listen and look at
Easy, hold my beer.
Is it really easy??
Ismael Ortiz Easy as fck, this is for kids
When he adds the scratching is the best.
Great job Harry Potter reference.

Watching this in 2020. Why? Bc last year was 2019.
loved loved wow this its 90er 80er yes
"Ron, it appears that your father is an astounding finger drummer."
-Harry Potter
Now that is what I call knowing how to us your equipment. Very impressive :-)
Meanwhile I'm still struggling with my launchpad mk2
it's actually a small end table at the purple lounge at the standard, where this video was shot.
0:54 stopped me from hitting the dislike button

I feel like he would be an asshole if I asked for tips for how to be faster lol
Nope. Actually he has a channel full of tutorials. Just look up "Jeremy Ellis" on youtube
Guy would be an absolute champion at flicking the bean.
he's just pushing buttons 0/10
I hope that's a joke m8...
it was m8
wow amazing great work .
He’s the best I’ve seen.
What was that? An exhibition? - love this Bruce Lee's phrase❤️
Watching this for school :)
Who else?

Holy Moly. How did I only just find out this guy? Can anyone recommend favorite videos of his?
His performance @cafe dodo
And his performance at forward fest are probably my fave work from hkm
@@ravagerxiii5488 thank you for the recommendations, checking them out now
Jeremy 'Elite' Ellis in the house!
Best Maschine player so far for sure.

Nine years later and I'm like wow. Just pulled my Studio out of the box.
ITS EXCELLENT TO SEE PERFORMANCE AT ITS BEST, THANK YOU.
I wish I could like this more than once!!!!!!
OMG.... the hand like a machine.... amazing
absolutely phenomenon
Wow wow wow wow wow wow.....
That's the dopeness right there!
Nice!
wow
Good evening yella...
And THAT is how he ended up a member of The Roots!
I'd recommend looking at MPC's. There are plenty of cheapish 16-pad drum machines out there but you'd need to bring your own software with some.
This is what we call "the magical of sample''
Nice to see people from araabmusik are here too..
still the best!!! amazing performance

yes indeed, i ment mainly the tecnique and the way of playing the instrument. The sound is quite nice, no doubt
Looks like fun, wouldn't mind one at all. Need to get the X1 first & master that.
