Imo, I always felt like it only got as much attention as it did because of his name. The song isn't bad obviously but it is no better or worse than Bruce Willis covering Respect, which I happened to like but his star status always seemed to be used against him.

This was HUGE! This is when he started doing movies which were funny as he'll. He has the best stand up EVER!!! LOVE him so much!! He only did one album. It wasn't he first love plus it was said that Rick got jealous ?
I must have listened to this 2 hours on repeat on my Walkman when it came out. And I still have it on my i-pod! Sadly, this was Eddie's only hit, but Rick James (with the longer hair singing with him at the end) has quite a few.

Ahh,the origin story of the Chappelle skit: I'm Rick James b*tch!!!😁 One thing I do find odd is, the whole cancel culture thing.On one hand, a guy like John Wayne for an example: died decades ago,and even though he was the only person in Hollywood who would cast Woody Strode,was cancelled for some of the derogatory terms he used back in the 1960's. Yet, here's Eddie who's alive...who became famous for his standup routines, where he used derogatory terms for just about everyone. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Eddie should be,I enjoy his standup...just pointing out how transparently racist the whole cancel culture thing is, and the hypocrisy of the self appointed "moral centers". Hon did you notice Rick James was in this cause you didn't even mention him. Side note bout Rick and Eddie... Prince opened Ricks shows but Rick was VERY VERY jealous of Prince he used to steal Princes instruments before Prince went on stage. And Eddie was a HUGE fan of Prince's and a friend of Prince's eventually. Maybe you need to do more Prince? 😁 And yes Eddie was ALWAYS cute, hummm maybe you do look a bit like him but na your cute too though all by yourself. 😁 Please do more Prince I love that man and nobodies better then Prince was is and will always be. @Greg he also had a top30 hit with put your mouth on me, but this was a top 10 hit and is still used all the time, was recently used fora GTA promotion. Yes you look like you could of been a brother or cousin to Eddie. Tho you look more like older brother Charlie then Eddie. back in the day actors could sing, singers could act and even sports stars were, on occasion, multi-talented
such talent is rare in an age when "stars" are created in a factory owned by Disney and others of that ilk, used until they wear out and are then left to sink or swim on their own
