  • The Hiwassee river coming through Reliance, Tennessee area is beautiful and clear with rocky bottom and lots of different fish in it. There is a good population of smallmouth that stay up towards the mountain part of the river but can be really hard to get to them.

Fishing below a dam is always chancy. The Chattahoochee River below the Lake Lanie dam has taken many lives when people either didn't hear the horn or didn't react, and were swept miles down the river.

Another good one thanks for the adventure.
I’ve been closing the hook barbs and find I have very few fish come of and it make getting the hook out much easier with less damage to the fish.
    That’s a beautiful place.

Sounds like one of those areas, where ya better have everything squared away between you and The Almighty, BEFORE you go up there!
Then again... it's always better to have everything squared away with God, before everything else! ✝️✝️✝️

Watch out for the ticks. They are BAD this year. I don't know about Tennessee, but here in MN., it's been really and unusually dry so they are going crazy.

Love the fiddle opener...next where there's treachery the fish can usually be found. Then you need to get ahold of the 3rd grip rod holster online. Just found one for my buddy. Carry 2 and you can quick change to your follow up bait like Wyatt Earp. Best tutorial for how slippery the rocks are...I'm wading with a buddy explaining to him about the watch out shin busters and...Splat! I face plant in the water next to it. As I'm flailing away trying to keep from going all the way in he quips.."Like that one buddy?" Can't make this stuff up. Thanks for sharing a dry adventure for us brother.

Every once in a while I would fish the Creeks that came out of a lake, I was not trying to catch any whoppers. I just loved to fish. If I wanted to keep fish, I knew exactly where to go. My Dad would get so upset with me because I could catch fish a lot better than he could, and I was in a wheelchair.

As a person who is limited by the ability to walk for long periods or on rough terrain, your videos really allow me to go to a different place in time. The adventures you take us to put a smile on my face and really allow me to get out of my depression. Keep up the great work, you just have no idea how much your videos can be helping someone. For me they have given me life again , when I was beginning to think there was no hope. I have began fishing around some areas where there is good bank access and have really began to enjoy life again. I would really like to share a day of bank fishing with you sometime just to share some fishing stories and catch some fish. But most of all just to say thank you personally for what your videos have done for me. THANK YOU JOHN!!!!!! Your videos are much more then entertaining , they are also changing peoples lives in more ways then you can imagine..... GOD BLESS AND GO KATS!!!!!!!!

I like hitting the rail road tracks behind the power house and walking up stream a ways and then getting in and start fishing. Going down to the mouth of Coker Creek where it runs into Hiwassee is another good place. Would be a heck of a kayak trip to float from the mouth of Coker Creek down to the power house.

About a 2 miles up river there we camp and catch huge flat head cat fish. Then about another 3 miles u got where wolf creek comes in the Hiawassee. And it’s super good small mouth and trout fishing. Just be super careful lots of crazy mean bears!!
