Never fished one , but there’s lots of reels out there that are less money and proven performers ie Tibor , Able , Nautilus that are easy to change out spools . To me the bottom line is there all to expensive. Thanks for sharing
Have you put a 150plus pound tarpon on it yet? If not.. you shouldn’t say it’s not for big tarpon unless you want to. Handles large tarpon (120+) extremely well. This reel Was meant for the most extreme anglers searching for giant fish. By the way that’s more of a 12+ WT than a 9-10. Drag speaking not spool size. Silent retrieve is great for night fishing!
How old was that reel in this review ? It looked to be beaten up pretty badly.. crooked handle, counterbalance misaligned …. Wouldn’t pay 1500 for that reel.
Thank you for deep review. I suppose that is new name on fly fishing market and price at 1500 dollars it’s too high. Definetely, if I will looking new big game reel I will choose different brand like Hatch or Mako.
I have the medium fly version and imo the only thing that I have against it is that the handle feels stiff when I reel in. Lovely reel though and the lever drag is quite adjustable (again imo)
Phillips head screws on a $1500 reel?
Yeah I reacted on that too… looked to be a field mod. 😂

Ridiculous, name, status, only. I can catch any fish on a $200 or less reel.
1500 $ for the bar of aluminium❓ No, thank you...😂😂
Where’s the XBF review you reference in this video? I couldn’t find it.
Is 1767 good money for a 12wt fly rod and reel
No fly reel will ever be worth 1500 $ !

$1500 bucks… that’s a lot of money. Guess it’s Pennies to them rich folks that want to be sporting the latest gear that makes them look legit.

Many work just as well ..have money left over to buy waders
$1500 for this? And i complained about the price of high end baitcasting reels who at least brings much more technogy than this for x3 less
