Make no mistake, every single rasp, crack, breath, gasp, etc... is consciously placed by a masterful performer at the top of her craft. Shoshanna knows exactly what she is doing here. Her technique is flawless. BRAVO 👏🏾

You can hear Shoshana’s passion just blasting forth, how heartbroken Jenna is to be hitting this failure, how sad Shoshana is to be ending her run at Waitress. Her passion is unmatched.

I have watched dozens of bootlegs of this song. I've seen this show live. I have cried to bootlegs of this song many times. But never, EVER have I been as pulled into and floored by a performance of this song as I just was during and after listening to this. Shoshana Bean is a new fucking level of talented. I really hope she returns to Waitress sometime.

I saw Shosana live in May and I have never seen someone so passionate as she was performing this song.

Saw and first knew her as Jenna during my first New York trip and now I am addicted to everything she does.

I've never seen Waitress and don't even really know what its about, but I'm a fan of Shoshana and have seen her several times in person so I'm used to getting chills whenever I hear her voice, but this....Im sobbing! Ive seen her balling her eyes out while singing a song and the emotion just radiates here. Can she get any more perfect??

Seen this live and it was a piece of art, Sho is just incredible and it was the most beautiful and truthful rendition of this song I have ever heard! I was crying the whole way through as was the whole audience hahaha no other words than incredible so blessed to have seen this performance live

Halsey R girl i can’t tell if you’re joking 💀 she was an understudy to idina menzel. she was the actress who saved the show when idina fell through the trap door and had that back injury. then she took over for idina, and eventually she did the tour. she’s probably not gonna want to be elphaba anymore tbh many don’t return due to the strain of the role. it’s also been well over a decade for shoshana.

Carlyn Collier wrong. The story is easy to find. Sho was the stand by she was rushed in, and that performance was the last for Idina. They brought her up on stage at the end of what supposed to be her last day, and she was wearing red athletic clothes. (There’s a version of it somewhere on UA-cam or Dailymotion).
Low key upset the audience broke what is normally a heart shattering silence after the climax on her last performance. Though amazing to have that support from the audience it’s very badly timed in this masterclass of a performance. Sho has poured her heart and soul into this song (and is clearly struggling emotionally at this point) for that moment to be taken away by an audience is kind of selfish. Wish some people could show appreciation at respectful times.
