You can hear Shoshana’s passion just blasting forth, how heartbroken Jenna is to be hitting this failure, how sad Shoshana is to be ending her run at Waitress. Her passion is unmatched.
Andrew J Koehler Are You related to the guy who derived the Peach-Koehler equation for calculating the response of a dislocation to an external stress field?
needless to say shoshana is incredible but not unmatched. Lucie Jones who plays west end jenna is undoubtedly on the same playing field. I doubt you'd have an actress playing jenna who wasn't good tbh
Make no mistake, every single rasp, crack, breath, gasp, etc... is consciously placed by a masterful performer at the top of her craft. Shoshanna knows exactly what she is doing here. Her technique is flawless. BRAVO 👏🏾
Shoshana have portrayed Jenna like no one else has. I’ve never cried this hard while listening to this song. She gives emotion and vocals and control like no one else has. Beyond proud of her.
I have watched dozens of bootlegs of this song. I've seen this show live. I have cried to bootlegs of this song many times. But never, EVER have I been as pulled into and floored by a performance of this song as I just was during and after listening to this. Shoshana Bean is a new fucking level of talented. I really hope she returns to Waitress sometime.
@@jackies-i5364 I also saw her during the tour stop in Atlanta. IMO, she was definitely good, they're not going to cast a lead tour performer that is not. But I preferred both Jessie and Shoshana.
I was at this performance with my husband. He recently passed away, and I thank everyone who captures these moments in time. It’s been really helpful :)
I've never seen Waitress and don't even really know what its about, but I'm a fan of Shoshana and have seen her several times in person so I'm used to getting chills whenever I hear her voice, but this....Im sobbing! Ive seen her balling her eyes out while singing a song and the emotion just radiates here. Can she get any more perfect??
The entire musical is on UA-cam right now with Shoshana and Jeremy! I’d never seen it either but I was always obsessed with the song, when the video was uploaded it popped up in my suggested videos! Go watch it before it gets taken down, who knows if she’ll ever return to reprise the role!
Saw and first knew her as Jenna during my first New York trip and now I am addicted to everything she does. If I were a New Yorker, I would definitely check-in at Brooks Atkinson on her very last night. Can't thank you enough for this "She used to be mine".
@@DannyKaan I've started a tiny theatre UA-cam channel, I know you're into photography and all that jazz, could you give me some tips on my videos? don't worry if not! :)
She exemplifies everything it means to embody a character and PER👏🏻FORM. The emotion and realness is raw. Talk about pathological persuasion. #shoshanaforever
The most amazing show I have ever seen. This cast is extraordinary, but Shoshana, my GOD, she is EVERYTHING. Tears at my entire being. un·prec·e·dent·ed
Seen this live and it was a piece of art, Sho is just incredible and it was the most beautiful and truthful rendition of this song I have ever heard! I was crying the whole way through as was the whole audience hahaha no other words than incredible so blessed to have seen this performance live
Absolute stunning performance. How she puts all that emotion into the song and keeps control is ridiculous. Outstanding rendition. What a super talented lady
Breathtaking. This is next-level performing--everything "extra" she is doing is in the moment and in support of the character. I can't wait to see her in something live.
As a present one year, my students (I was a drama teacher) arranged for my wife and I to meet her after a concert. It was a life changing experience, not because of her talent- but because of the absolute amazing human being she is.
The way Sho starts this song gets me chocked up. Not a lot of broadway songs gets me in tears but her passion and the way she delivered this was beyond any words of praise I can give.🥺❤🎶🎶🔥🔥
Low key upset the audience broke what is normally a heart shattering silence after the climax on her last performance. Though amazing to have that support from the audience it’s very badly timed in this masterclass of a performance. Sho has poured her heart and soul into this song (and is clearly struggling emotionally at this point) for that moment to be taken away by an audience is kind of selfish. Wish some people could show appreciation at respectful times.
Halsey R girl i can’t tell if you’re joking 💀 she was an understudy to idina menzel. she was the actress who saved the show when idina fell through the trap door and had that back injury. then she took over for idina, and eventually she did the tour. she’s probably not gonna want to be elphaba anymore tbh many don’t return due to the strain of the role. it’s also been well over a decade for shoshana.
Carlyn Collier wrong. The story is easy to find. Sho was the stand by she was rushed in, and that performance was the last for Idina. They brought her up on stage at the end of what supposed to be her last day, and she was wearing red athletic clothes. (There’s a version of it somewhere on UA-cam or Dailymotion).
Hello! Do you have a link to the entire performance? I saw this cast a few days before Shoshana’s last show and would love to see a recording of this amazing cast!

There was a lot of mistakes, but it's maybe due to the emotion
@@iamsachadally point them please, I just want to learn, no shade. :)
Shoshana is a Masterclass on vocal storytelling and emotion ❤️ (the way she performs it especially in the Broadwaycom recording is unbelievable)
you can tell her last "mine" is just a WAIL and it gets me every time
Shoshana have portrayed Jenna like no one else has. I’ve never cried this hard while listening to this song. She gives emotion and vocals and control like no one else has. Beyond proud of her.
I personally didnt like her Jenna
omg same thats literally what I said, I have never cried so hard watching it
I cry every time
Only Shoshana during this performance, and Cynthia Erivo in The Color Purple have made me openly sob in a theatre.
In all honesty
That’s been GONE at 5:44 was the pinnacle of emotion, power belting, and riffing all at once. SING 👏🏼 IT 👏🏼 SHOSHANA 👏🏼
AND MY TEARS JUST BURSTING OUT OF CONTROL AT THIS PART, GOSH!!!
Literally the EPITOME of artistry. Like SUCH a beautiful riff that is also ADDING emotion, not taking emotion away by sounding overly technical
The definitive performance of this song. Period.
Jessie Mueller disagrees
Molly Pavilonis never liked Jessie as Jenna tbh
Courtney Schultz literally HOW , you’re entitled to your awful opinion lol. she’s literally the original
@@mollypavilonis5718 Yeah...and I thought she was a horrible original lol
Courtney Schultz Bullshit.
I was there and she was amazing. It was the longest standing ovation that I'd ever seen in the middle of a show
During the last two "mine"s it's like she is using every ounce of her being.
Oh god. That last “she is lonely” broke me.
Elphabantom the “beautiful pie” killed me

It’s finally happening. 🥹 “Hell’s Kitchen”
Shoshana and Jeremy were the absolute BEST Jenna/Pomatter combo. Change my mind.
This is how it's done! I thought nothing could top Jessie. Boy, was I wrong!!! Master Class!!!
Tony Commodore look up Christine Dwyer

Jordin Sparks OWNS this song.

This is musical theatre acting at its absolute finest. Outstanding.
I saw Shosana live in May and I have never seen someone so passionate as she was performing this song.
Amelia Rose definitely! I saw her in April, best experience ever!

Sweet Baby Jesus in a manger...this woman is a QUEEN. My favorite Jenna. THE. END.
My favorite anything-she-has-ever-played, to be honest. Her vocal control and talent are INSANE.
