That’s encouraging. I fell 2 1/2 months ago and think I bruised my hip. After that I could no longer get around with just a cane & had to use a walker. The Orthopedic APRN I saw couldn’t tell me what I’d injured when I fell, said PT wouldn’t help & I needed to accept that I’d always need a walker. I didn’t buy that & decided to start doing some exercises with the hope that would make a difference. It has but it’s slow progress. It’s good to know I’m not going to make anything worse by exercising and it could take months for what I think is a bruised hip bone to heal. I’ve lost 134 lbs so I know I’m patient and I can do hard things so I’ll stick with my plan and hope for the best.
Has your hip bone healed completely? I think I have bruised my knee bone after a fall. It pains at times while putting pressure on that leg and has been 1.3 months In this video he hasn't mentioned we can exercise with a bone bruise though right? So how did it work out for you? I would like to restart my exercises, so I'm curious to know.
@@keerthiunnikrishnan8275same here with my knee, too!! I fell 4 months ago! It sounds like bone bruises can take quite a while to heal! I have a similar sounding pain when I put pressure on it. So sore!
@@keerthiunnikrishnan8275same here. I’d like to know if I can keep walking “normal”, not have to stay at home at day resting the knee. Have you gotten any better? Did you continue to use your knee normally in the process?
@@keerthiunnikrishnan8275 I fell 2 months ago and have XRays and CT Scan come back normal. I suspect I have bone bruise because its been horrible recovery. Losing Range of Motion and I am unsure if I should do PT exercises for that. How are you managing to get by? Any improvement since your post?
@@borikatrinaHi, I saw your reply and question only today. So, in my case I finally took an orthopaedic consultation soon after. For me X-ray only was taken and it came out normal. Apparently it seems I have a natural misalignment in both my knees. Instead of projecting straight, the knees has a slight outwards projection. And the theory from one of the consultant was that, after my fall some fluid (don't remember the exact word for it, but something like the intraspinal fluid) was released in my knee, mainly the right knee which had impacted more. And due to my outwards projection, the knee bone was hitting against it and causing extra pressure which was the reason for my pain. I am explaining it very crudely. And the main ortho person (as well as his assistant)told me that the solution for it was physiotherapy exercises only. Also it seems my hamstrings and calf muscles were pretty tight which were not supporting the knee enough. So those muscles loosening exercises were also recommended. And gentle moist heat application too. I didn't exactly go to a PT, instead went some strength training sessions I normally used to attend, and focused on these knee exercises and also everyday applied hot water nicely. And in 1.5 weeks my pain was totally gone. This was in May end- June beginning. I am into running and have them continued with it. This issue didn't come up after that. I had been training for my first Half Marathon ever since and in none of my runs faced any knee pain. My HM was on last Sunday. On the previous day of HM, by chance I happened to try an EMS foot massager. When I was trying it, very unexpectedly my right knee was twitching more and I could feel a small tingling pain. I was surprised as I didn't have any pain there till then. I asked the person giving the demo and he was like, ma'am that could be because there may be some blockage and it has gotten stimulated by this. This is good for blood circulation etc. Anyways I don't conclusively know if it was because of this, but during my HM next day, after the 10th km, I started facing pain in right knee which intensified thereafter. I literally couldn't bend my knee also and had to stop running. I completed my HM by walking after that. I got swelling and pain in my knee later and it's still just recovering slowly. I am thinking of consulting the same orthopaedic once again to find out what could be the issue as they had told there seems to be no other damage in my knee. Now, coming to your case, are you able to try out any exercises? Since the test results are good, I would say you can definitely give it a try. In my case also I had just rested my knee for 1.5 months and it did nothing. Try some gentle squats, lunges etc initially and see if you are able to progress. You can further look for other knee strengthening exercises and see if it is working out for you.
I have it on my left knee in my lateral collateral and before it would cause pain to put weight on it put I kept taking pain medications and after 2 months the pain isn’t there when I put weight on it but I still don’t have full range of motion and I limp when walking, it’s been 5 months and still swollen
this is helpful because even though i went to hand specialist they didn’t give me a time frame of healing, it has already been 6 months when i went. its been a year now, bone (thumb metacarpal) is still very much bruised! sucks but i’m glad that’s normal
I slipped on a wet outdoor staircase and banged the inside of my left knee about 3 months ago. No problems walking but it aches badly if I sleep on my side which wakes me up and I can’t seem to sleep on my back. Then I can feel it gentle discomfort all day. It’s driving me mad. Ibuprofen and Diclofenac ointment or pills don’t help much. When I do my stretching exercises it eases initially, but then it’s worse for a while. It’s improving a bit, but far too slowly. I’m 71
@ hey, doing physical therapy still strengthening the legs. There is still pain when applying pressure. But i can apply more pressure now and dont have pain while resting anymore. Have to be patient. Good luck!
Hi Doctor, hit upon your video while searching for a cure for my shin bruise I sustained in a bike accident. Only on the 6th day I was given the antibiotic Keftaz-CV 625, 16 of them, after some slight infection was noticed on the 3 wound marks. This is day 9 after the incident. No fracture was detected in x-ray; pain was severe for the first 3 days but relieved of it all now except while pressing the toe part down. I can manage to walk slowly on the heel. Do I have to avoid movements like walking, climbing stairs and rotating the foot? I am 60, non-diabetic, athletic and active. If I continue to be static and idle, will it affect my mobility any way? Thank you.

I had prp and stem cell treatment for pain in my knee with little relief. I gave in and went to the surgeon and had my torn meniscus trimmed and the surgeon said it would help but to expect some pain still because I had a one bruise. This btw is the third surgery for meniscus tear in that knee. It has been nearly a year now and I am still dealing with the pain from the bruise although not as bad but beginning to be more frequent. Will prp or Stemcells help now that the torn meniscus has been removed? What course would you take next?

What about bone bruising behind the patella caused by grade 4 Chondromalacia? Im suffering with it 10 months .. I’m fit 45yr old and I can’t run since Oct 22.. thanks
This is exactly what I have .. mine occurred while out running 2 months ago .. at first, I thought it was achillies as I've had issues with that in the past, but as time passed, I realised the symptoms and area of pain were slightly different leading to either calcaneus fracture or bruise as the most likely issue. I believe it is a bruise as I didn't fall or have an impact in that area to cause a fracture. May I ask if you managed to find a remedy for your pain and how long it lasted?
@garrettkelly5568 I was confirmed with a calcaneal contusion just from walking at work. I dont recall hitting it or doing anything specific. Just felt a tightness in the arch and couldn't walk. So far the healing journey has been over 5 months and I'm just now starting to walk on it, but still in the boot and working towards the shoe and off of crutches. On 3 months of physical therapy 3x per week. This has been the most annoying and lengthy injury I've ever had. I'm so sorry to hear you're dealing with something similar.
