Who ever told you they all sound the same... wow... needs to get their hearing checked LOL. All the other Live ones are excellent. I personally like Puzzle and (the real) secret My lips. I like the April fools one to though. Keep it going! 🤘

This song was an instrument made by KANAMI for the festival where they appear for the first time. It was planned to play by AKANE (Dr), MISA (Ba), KANAMI (Gt). However, as members liked it very much, MIKU gave simple lyrics. And this song 'PLAY' was completed.
Moratorium from the same show! It’s like the sister to Play in the way it feels in the rhythm section, nice and aggressive. Play, Moratorium and Secret My Lips stay on heavy rotation whenever I’m driving anywhere I have time to jam out.

I don't know who told you all their songs sound the same, but they are very confused. I recommend continuing with the live stuff. "Take me Higher!!" and "Puzzle" are both fantastic tracks and are on the same channel as the video you did here.
They have their sound but I don't think all their songs sound the same. Some do but I love their rocking stuff. It seems like with every album they go more hard rock and less pop. This is an amazing song and the best intro ever. Misa on bass and Akane on drums are a perfect fit. Kanami as always shreds on guitar. Band Maid is the best band going right now. Babymetal are a gimmick in comparison to Band Maid.
What’s crazy is that the studio version of Play does not sound as good as the live version. Don’t get me wrong, I like them both but the live version really kicks ass! I’ll show this particular video to anyone who knows nothing about Band-Maid and tell them, “Don’t let the maid outfits fool ya! Their musicianship is for real off the chain!!!” PS, all their songs do not sound alike! That’s just straight up bullshit! BAND-MAID FOREVER!!!

They're both fantastic. Whilst personally I would go with Koga, as I'm crazy into slap bass and she is a true master of that, I can see there being arguments for both which will end up boiling down to subjective preference in approach.

Band Maid are great live, seen them a few times in London over the last few years, the venues are getting bigger each time so they're definitely building their overseas presence. They haven't exploded big time yet but I think they're on a good trajectory. I may have requested it on one of your videos before, so apologies if I'm repeating myself, but I would recommend you try a band called Doll$Boxx as you like Band Maid. They are much more of a genre mash-up than the straight up hard-rock of Band Maid, but I think what they're doing is extremely interesting whilst being upon that same through-line. One could say all Metallica songs sound the same too....I don’t get it. I have two albums by Band Maid, their songs sound no more alike than any other band. I think it is just because the vocals are in another language some people just hear gibberish and don’t bother to appreciate it for its musical quality. My only criticism of this band, if you can call it that, is I wish Miku and Saiki upped the complexity in their vocal harmony to match match the complexity of Akane, Misa, and Kanami. Watch “Thrill”, that song kicks butt, although the English lyrics make no sense.....
