Thank you so much for sharing! I love to hear the prices! I live right across the lake in Wilson NY and it always interests me in the price differences with us being close. Here we do not pay tax on food products.

Hi Ania The color difference of the egg yolk is due to the supplements to the feed for the chickens. THus the lutein and high omega values.. I am an egg farmer

I find this interesting. Pretty sure food items are not taxed here in Massachusetts.

I like to see the prices on groceries. Ontario is more expensive than Manitoba. I have never tried Natrel Milk but I'm going shopping today so I'll look ofr it to see how much it is here. The price of the meat seemed really good.

Wow your prices are really high on everything!
I’m in the USA and we pay taxes on everything, food and medicine are lower tax than everything else.
I do like to hear the prices you are paying for what you buy.
That was a good sale price for the paper towels.
The rotisserie chickens at my Costco are $4.97 each and definitely worth the amount they charge. They are at least 3 pounds but much more likely to be over 4.5 pounds.
As for making yogurt out of the 2% the milk goes, it should work just fine. You can buy low-fat yogurt in the store so why wouldn’t you be able to make it at home. The only thing is it might not be as thick as the higher fat yogurt you currently make.
To solve that problem you can add a bit of unflavored gelatin to the finished yogurt to help thicken it.

Thank you so much! I’m fermenting the 2% right now, I was worried that it might be processed differently because it is not only different fat content but also not organic.

What do you do with the pork lard? Do you spread it on bread?

Yes, but my grandpa was frying onion and apple in it then let it set and then spread on bread 🥖

What I find interesting is the amount of money you spend on food at Costco I mean back in the day people had huge families and it was a requirement. But now your little family of four seem a little excessive. I mean we are three people and we are able to do a through shopping. 😮. I think you have a lot of money.
