I used to feel bad for Abandoned being mistaken as a new Silent hills game, but it's clear now it was purposely done to build up hype over nothing. Abandoned truly does lives up to its name.
I knew from the beginning this was intentional. The guy is a scumbag in the highest order.
Never felt bad for them, always thought if they didn't want the smoke they should stop acting big then suddenly turning around playing the victim.

@@lambtony3317 Fyre Festival was a scam festival in 2017 that was brought up by Billy McFarland (a serial fraudster). There's multiple videos and documentaries covering the festival, but it was a "high end" music festival where people who purchased premium tickets were able to attend and could only pay for festival activities with a special charge card. Another claim was that it was gonna be on a Pablo Escobar island.
Unfortunately for people riding that train, the island was not the island that was advertised and the festival was basically non-existent. People were pretty much abandoned and it got close to being survival of the fittest to get back home (It's not the most detailed description. Please watch documentaries on the subject.).
Thankfully, Billy McFarland was arrested in 2018 and is currently serving a 6 year sentence for being a serial fraudster due to not only Fyre Festival, but other scams he was running as well.
The bigger question is why are people torturing and obsessing themselves over a game they literally know is more than likely a joke/scam?
How long has star citizen been going, and how rabbid is their community? It's not that far fetched anymore ppl are stupid plain and simple.

When the game was first announced there were rumors of a silent hill game being worked on but by a third party developer, there’s still rumors but blue box hopped on the train, as much as I want to blame people for this I blame blue box for not setting the record straight in the first place

The whole Blue Box fiasco is probably one of the most mysterious and rage inducing development team I have ever read into, glad this video cleared the air.
I already felt Hasan was a shit person here, but once we got to the 'romantic' part, I felt actual danger. Having met people like that, and sadly been in a relationship with a person like that, I know for a fact that he's probably not only a scammer, but a bad person.

I have said it before and I will say it again. I think that when we look back at this console generation many years from now, the whole fiasco around Bluebox Studios and Abandoned will be seen as one of the most stupid and ridiculous things to have happened. Hasan Kahraman has made himself look like a complete laughing stock along with all those who fell for the false hype surrounding Abandoned.

Sony was never involved beyond a courtesy blog post for a dev that promised a Playstation exclusive game. That's it. All the other "Sony invested money" claims were pure bullshit created from whole cloth by "journalists" and gamers who have no effing clue how games are funded and just made shit up.

Like, it's fine if it wouldn't affect you, but lots of people are really interested in cool, unique ideas and stuff in the gaming industry and really want to see more experimentation. When that stuff turns out to be fake or a scam, people are sad, because they like the ideas presented and were hopeful it would succeed. However, if you'll notice, people have been getting more and more tired of stuff like this, more jaded, cause this stuff keeps happening. No one's outright pissed. Just disappointed.

The craziest thing about this entire story is that at any point (including right now) Hasan could have just owned up to it. When he first started getting backlash he could have said "Im really sorry to those who feel misled, I played into the rumors because this spotlight on my game just fell into my lap, and I didnt think of the consequences. I just saw an opportunity to get investors interested. Im not a PR person, Im just some guy making a game."

At this point though hes like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar arguing with him mom that its not actually there. Hes only lying to protect himself, but nobody else is fooled, and the freedom that comes with finally being honest can only benefit him. We are human, we make bad decisions....we all do this, but you cant start to forgive someone until that person owns up to what they've done. On the whole, I dont personally care about the situation. Seems like it spiraled out of his control, and he just piled lies on lies to attempt to save face and salvage his reputation, not realizing that he sabatoged both by doing that, but it will be a life lesson learned when he finally admits and moves on. I dont really understand why the broader public cares about this still, but hey, people do what they do....Hasan, dude, just come clean, DO NOT LIE, take time away from social media, and move on with your life....for your sake, not anyone elses.

I don't even get why he even tried to piggyback his game out of Silent Hill (even more surprising that some folk actually believe it, when the few clips he has shown not only doesn't resemble a SH game but neither a horror game) even if he had successfully pulled it off what would have happened next? he still doesn't own the IP so he would not have been able to deliver, come clean and it will bite you in the ass for being a liar, try to still pass the game as part of SH and eventually Konami would have bit him in the ass as well.

YES. I've had interactions with their official account on Twitter before, they were LEANING INTO the possible connection people were discussing. Then, suddenly, they acted like they did nothing and it was all a misunderstanding. No, they loved it and promoted it for quite a while. They liked the attention until they "didn't".

After decades of watching AAA developers and stuff like indigogo grifting people, I honestly couldn't understand how people could still get their hopes up.
This should just be yet another reminder to temper your expectations and be less naive.
I didn't think someone could be so lazy with a scam if I had any hype or care about the project I think that I would feel more insulted than angry. The man didn't even try to asset flip or anything like damn put a little effort into it.
We need SOMETHING good, that's why. And, reasonably, it has to come _eventually_ even in a highly manipulated world, _right?_ "Maybe this one will be It…" AKA "hopium". And we hide and attempt to smother out our more sensibly grounded doubts with masks of shining positivity strapped on tight by toxicity as defensive aggression AKA "copium", fooling plenty about our feelings because there are those of us that actually are dumb and/or jerkhead worshippers but not fooling ourselves. I myself don't want to lose hope, but I don't know what a solution could be, and I refuse to engage in immoral, immature or ineffectual dishonesty even for the sake of my own sanity. Regardless, I'm not committing to believing any one outcome prevailing as anything really could happen-AFAIK, no one can see enough of what's happening to know who's going to win; there could be X-factors anywhere. That is bullshit started by McDougal uncritically repeating Hasan's claim that the game will be in the State of Play stream. It wasn't. But people who didn't watch the stream keep repeating it because some other person claimed it happened.
And the "real time demo" was an outsized app with an uncompressed video. Sony wasn't scammed by anyone. A dev can upload an app as long as it doesn't violate certain rules, and being an outsized uncompressed video isn't one of them.

I laughed my ass off when the 2 second foot teaser happened. Before that I was super suspicious of them. They knew what they were doing, we knew what they were doing, but I wasn't entirely sure what to think other than just being a bit annoyed by BlueBox's existence. The teaser cemented the scam idea to me. Imagining that you have so many delays just for that little thing felt like them spitting on anyone who had their eyes on the project. Like, "dude, they totally fell for it, lol". If you can't even make two seconds of footage of some guy's foot on time, then can you even make a game? Either way, it's clear that there is no game or prologue or whatever, and even if there was it probably sucks let's be honest, what with a work ethic that's somehow worse than mine and a terrible personality to boot. If he actually has any employees, then moral is probably comparable to Activision-Blizzard. I just wonder... What did he plan to get out of this? To do all that he did, which wasn't a lot clearly, but to have done that just to say, "just kidding". Like, usually they try to pawn off a product to scam with. Here he's too lazy to even do that. Absolutely fascinating.

Still to this day I dont get how or why he managed to bait people into believing his game was related to Silent Hill.
1. The project looked nothing like a Silent Hill game.
2. Even if enough people had taken the bait, he was no right over the IP and sooner or later he would have to come clean and eventually bite him in the ass.
Here's why:
1. The idea behind the conspiracy is that it was made to not look like SH on purpose. Wouldn't it be too easy if it was clearly evident that it's SH? After PT and Joakim Mogren? The whole idea behind "it's an ARG" was that the ARG would let you question everything around the marketing and drive you crazy. And trust me, it drove me and a lot people crazy. When the world was waiting for the demo to be released, I was in my room at night staring at the "ABANDONED" home screen, I really had the impression it was classic Kojima 4th wall breaking leaving us abandoned in real time.
2. There were different conspiracy: him being an actor, him working for Konami, KJP or Bloober who obtained the license of developing the game etc..
Trust me, I followed every bit of the story. It's so weird, so weird that it wasn't so foolish believing it was something else at the beginning. Now we have too much evidence this kid is just a pathological lier, immature and disrespectful.

1. Konami would not even allow Kojima to work on SH, they left in bad terms to the point they'd sued each other. Konami would never work with Kojima again (and viceversa).
2. Even if by some miracle Konami allowed Kojima to work on their IP again, why was the main promoter of the "next Silent Hill" Blue Box, a random third party studio when Kojima was his own team? if the idea was to conceal Kojima productions as the devs, just like Joakim Mogren, why use an actual real studio that was a terrible development track record instead of making one up again?
Well then, this just murders any possibility of this game. They literally “ABANDONED” their morality to hype up this!! Despicable….

I think this guy was going through the motion of starting another project that he would later abandon, and then someone, somewhere connected it with kojima and that had him thinking "hey i can ride this train" and he got on without knowing where the train was going. Well.. it derailed.

It sounds like he wants to be a developer on some level but he has far too many psychological obstacles that he just doesn't know how to overcome. This doesn't excuse his abusive behavior (your suffering never entitles you to cause suffering), but as a struggling artist and creator myself, I have a bit of sympathy and even hope for him. I wish I could get in touch with him, just to encourage him to improve in some way or help him be more accountable.
This guy has a long history of unfinished products. It's intentional. He doesn't plan on ever making a finished product.
What blew Kahraman's cover for me was when he was suggesting it was Silent Hill, and then out of nowhere started pretending it was a Metal Gear game.
Some of the staggering coincidences, like Google Translate changing "Hasan Kahraman" to "Hero Kojima" for example, convinced me, but once the consistency started shaking, it all fell apart fast.
To be precise the translation coincidence is that both Hasan and Hideo mean "hero" in turkish and japanese respectively. So you can sort of translate one into the other

No they don't. You need to stop assuming you know what "verified on psn" means (it means that company/person bought a dev kit), the blog is a courtesy for indie devs, and all they authorized was an app to play a trailer. Stop blaming others for you being gullible.

The guy has been very careful not to claim that Sony is funding him (that was entirely an assumption by Yong and other journalists). They have no control over what some rando guy that bought their dev kit says as long as he doesn't claim he's being officially supported by Sony.

incredible reporting here. As a Silent Hill fan I keep getting hyped up the last few years...so many signs that the franchise could be revived.. This was another one of those things that I followed in hopes that it would materialize. This video has cemented what I thought about BlueBox shortly after their disastrous Ps5 app. The pathetic excuses and still to this day having nothing to show for all the BS.

I don't doubt the validity of the article, but I take everything from Mark Delaney with a grain of salt. The guy was extremely active in the blueboxconspiracy subreddit, and was honestly a major creep there.
He challenged everyone to bets about Abandoned, made these long rambling posts about his "insider information," and said he felt compelled to report on Abandoned because he wanted to "save people and be a hero" or something like that. Real narcissist vibes.
Again, I don't doubt the article but I've also seen him post a 4 hour long Fortnite Twitch stream where he discussed a phonecall he had with Hasan and claimed they had nightly conversations. He could only corroborate about a minute of it.
