This mold was more complex than most. I used the cavity pour method. it worked pretty well but I ended up having an issue with the plug. it caused a bad parting line along the back of the neck. I'm not sure what method would have prevented that but I might try a skin mold next time.

What silicone do you use to make the mold?
You are a friggin genius man, some very sneaky sneaky moves
Scary! There's so many step and details. But it looks like it's going to be great in bronze👍🏼.
inspiring. i see JB's footprints somewhere, so awesome!
You are learning so much ... I love watching your videos!
Very nice work as always. Can't wait to see the fossils you started to make last year
You are extremely talented! Love your work!
Inspiring as always, love your channel, love your narrating, love your work, can't wait for the bronze.
I can't wait to see this finished. Looking good so far👍
when you had to cut your elk I felt bad for you hahah. nice job, you're so brilliant
Cutting it was super scary.
Brilliant work! Thanks for sharing your process.

super nice!!!
impressive man.
I just started sculpting and wondered if it’s possible to cast it. So I found your UA-cam and subscribe. Your sculptures are very beautiful. So many questions. What type of clay do you sculpt with? I will check out your other videos thank you
I use super sculpey firm. But a lot of people use different clays. I’ve been wanting to try monster clay. Don’t know if I’ll like it though. You can get really detailed but it’s a really firm clay.
الله ينور عليك يا هندسه
Molding is just too complex for me. Can't help thinking the fiberglass resin shrinkage somehow caused the parting line, or no?
That is going to be one hell of a trophy buck!
I never thought of how much fiberglass shrinks. Something to check out.
Extraordinary!
I do have two questions, however.
Do you live anywhere close to north Idaho?
If so, would you take on a 55-year-old apprentice? 😉
Haha. Unfortunately I live in Minnesota. I’ve been wishing I could go apprentices under someone myself. I have so much to learn!
Well done!
What is the fiberglass material you are using for the shell? I am casting a very large piece and think hydrocal is going to be too heavy as a shell.
It’s called bondo glass.
Very nice!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Muito profissional!

Hi can you I give the info of the materials you are using
I use sulfur free oil based clay. Sulfur can interfere with the silicone rubber.
I use tin based silicone rubber. I buy it locally at Sterling supply. If you don’t have a distributor near you just order a tin based silicone rubber from smooth on.
Platinum based silicone is expensive and unnecessary for most things.
Love you man 💖💖💖 i from Iraq 🇮🇶💞😍🥰
I hope everything is going great in Iraq. Thanks for watching!
@@lundgrenbronzestudios Yes my love, everything is fine here. I love you and I love every American, America and Iraq. There can be no separation 🇮🇶💞🇺🇲
How do you get your bronze?
I buy the bronze from Lancaster foundry in Pennsylvania.
Which part requires more artistic talent, the original sculpt or what he's doing in this video? I'd most definitely have someone else do all of this tedious work. Artists need to be creating original artworks, not spending their time creating copies.
It is a necessary process for making a bronze. It’s not making a copy, it’s transforming it into metal which will last thousands of years longer than that clay model will. And few people can say they can create such a thing themselves.
@@lundgrenbronzestudios Yea, I was just speaking for myself. Sculpting is hard enough, much less having to do everything to convert it into a bronze. I agree, copy wasn't the best word selection. I bought a furnace and everything to make my own castings, and then I was like, why not find someone that could do all of the castings where I could spend my time creating instead of creating and casting? Well, I found a company to cast for me, unfortunately I had them do it once and then I stopped creating. Hopefully, if they'd still do it for me, one day I'll get back into creating.
