To clarify, South Korea does provide payslips, although they are not given monthly. Instead, there is a dedicated website where you can access payslips for all your previous work periods. However, it's not common for people to track them regularly. In South Korea, South Africans are exempt from paying taxes for the first two years of living there. Many individuals come to Korea for two years, earn money, and then leave. Alternatively, you can choose to stay longer, as I have for five years, and I have only started paying taxes in the last three years, which amount to R1,250 per month. I believe this is reasonable. Moreover, after five years, our salaries do increase annually, and there are bonuses as well. It's not necessary to teach at just one school either. Currently, I teach at three schools, with varying weekly schedules. On top of these benefits, South Korea covers 50% of our medical aid costs and offers severance pay. Despite having no teaching experience in South Africa, I earn significantly more than a woman who has been working there for 30 years, and the cost of living in Korea is relatively inexpensive. In fact, I am able to save a substantial amount each month, sending home 1.5 million Korean won, which translates to R21,000, and comfortably living on the remainder of my salary. Hence, I still believe that South Korea offers favorable conditions. While I don't intend to make comparisons, I hope this clarifies any confusion. For more detailed information, feel free to visit my channel.
To clarify further, South Korea offers even more benefits. They cover the cost of your flights, which means you don’t have to worry about purchasing air tickets when coming to or leaving the country. Additionally, as an English teacher in South Korea, you are provided with accommodation, and the apartments are fully furnished. This means you don’t have to worry about finding and paying for rent or buying furniture. Moreover, the transportation system is well-supported, and teachers receive transport allowances to cover their travel expenses to and from school. These additional perks contribute to making the teaching experience in South Korea more convenient and financially advantageous.

NP(Non Pensionable) cash allowance, has been canceled & added to the overall salary increase to make it 7%. It was an allowance given in the place of salary increase, but it was not helping/affecting the Bonus, increase or pension & the amount depended on the individual's notch.
Hi Sis Boni, My apologies for coming so late, I just saw the video. So I'm a first year student in education, currently funded by NSFAS so can you please make a video more on busaries that funds education in South Africa🥺
One must look at it, per hour a teacher is actually highly paid if you take into account the leave and shorter days. A nurse with a degree earns less and works long shifts. Certain fields earn better but entails long work hours and a lot more stress.
If teachers were paid per hour, they would have earned a lot more. Lesson planning, extracurricular activities, marking etc is part of the job and takes place after hours
@yourmother2296 most academic jobs entail working after hours with no overtime. I work in audit and during busy season one works right through weekends and until late at night with no overtime. Audit clerks earnnway less than teachers as teachers get public sector style remuneration.
What shorter days?? Classes till 14h00. Sports and extra curricular till 17h00. Preparation and marking 20h00 until finished. Saturday back to the school for sport matches until 13h00 at least. A halfday job??? Not on your life.
I’m also teacher in Korea i have Btech in Public management. I was unemployed in SA and i have no teaching experience.i earn 32000 here after deductions its 28000 with all the deductions including my untilities. Back at home id be making about 14k for the admin clerk positions.
That why I'm also thinking of going to Saudi Arabia as a male nurse with my 15 years of experience. In SA we work as slaves being a teacher, police officer,Dr,Nurses.
Nope that not true maybe it was a mistake with a bonus you get taxed same amount, the other bonus basic salary you get it as it is, supposed to be 52 o 51k for bonus after deductions
@@liferesetwithboni no problem. I like your content but also because the salary doesn't tell much on its own. It is also about what people can buy for the money which you also mentioned :). A teacher here in Denmark earns an average of ZAR 107,979 per month. which might sound like a lot. But here in Denmark they are underpaid. Rent can easily cost Zar 37427 and up
The good about working locally is that when going on pension you get your pension fund but working abroad without pay slip when you can't work anymore you get nothing.
I love your content my sister.... Hope 1day you will zoom in the private sector salaries, us black skilled workers get far less than white same skilled job, kunzima
You wont believe the pension of a teacher with 5yrs Univ training and 35yrs of teaching. It is a digrace. One could never buy a new car together with paying off a house. Teachers are sooo much poorer than the learners' parents. That is why the learners and their parents have very little respect for teachers. And the sadness of it all is, the teachers taught the nation and brought them up. I wish the government would remember their teachers. The teachers on pension are really living below the breadline. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
How much do biotechnologist earn with 30 years experience, it depends on promotion or getting another job with another company in same or similar field, if you stay in one company chances of career upward mobility are relatively slim like a teacher with 30 years experience.
Hey Bonnie, i like your program, its very interesting and informative. It blows my mind why the bonus is paid out with the salary. Obviously the tax deduction will be higher. Why not give the case for the unions to insist that the pay out on bonus must be made separately. Definitely they will see the difference that a bonus is been earned. By paying out the salary with the bonus, makes the gross earning following into a higher tax bracket.
I'm studying LLB 😂but the plan is to go to Asia to teach when I finish my degree. I wouldn't say there's no money in law, but starting out is difficult. One must look at it, per hour a teacher is actually highly paid if you take into account the leave and shorter days.
A nurse with a degree earns less and works long shifts.
Certain fields earn better but entails long work hours and a lot more stress.
Awesome perspective, but in these videos, we are not comparing salaries. 😊

Lol 30 years of experience, but my salary is equivalent to hers but I have one year experience 😂😂, surely there’s no grow in teaching

@@lehlogonololanga Please send me yours. 😉Xaba.bonisile@gmail.com
How much do biotechnologist earn with 30 years experience, it depends on promotion or getting another job with another company in same or similar field, if you stay in one company chances of career upward mobility are relatively slim like a teacher with 30 years experience.
The law degree has not gone to waste. It depends on what you can do with it. Now teaching in another country. .

Sending our love from DRC 🇨🇩
Thank you
How is life in DRC ?
The one of the bonus is not accurate. The tax for bonus is paid monthly so that one can get their bonus in full.
The other one of a small bonus is a new teacher on temporaril perhaps.maybe against promotional
okay!
now i see why we still need a better government that understands that this tax thing is not fair especially for the working class
