- Yo, check this out. This the Wu-Tang Clan.
A very old Interview with the clan, Ghost isn't even mentioned for some reason and we got the RZA but he not in effect right now.
who is the first guy ODB points out? Users 'hey12358y' and 'capmoradah' say he is Oli Grant aka Power. 'Robert Acevedo' agrees saying, "it's "Big Pook" aka Power aka Oliver "Power" Grant, who is the president of Wu Wear/WuTang brand. He also starred in BELLY as "Knowledge" and in BLACK & WHITE as "Rich Bower". "
"we utilize our tongues against guns" that's a bar
"We flip flows with lyrics that chop"
Legendary.
I fuccin love raekwon da chef
cuban linx baby
gza is an absolute genius
Genius isnt the proper word to describe how great he is
The way he describes the mystery of chessboxin is crazy
its literally his name
Look into it he is also a professor and teaches at a college he is very smart
Knowledge, wisdom and understanding complete
I love how ODB talks MAD game for his brothers, he really does, as do all of them, respect and openly show love for his brothers. Especially when he hyped RZA for buy and learning the recording equipment. It’s just nice to see and makes me a prouder Wu-Tang killah bee
GZA's use of metaphors is unmatched. Damn, he's sharp!
No wonder he's the 'Spiritual head' of the Wu.
Edit - I just noticed how blazed Meth is in the video 😂😂😂😂😂
Yep he said we watches Kung fu movies all day and their way is sharp 😂😂😂 Very wise...
yes ODB, I know what you're saying
Hahaha
C P 😂😂😂 best comment
Hi Butters
@JOE knows chill it aint that deep
JOE knows you’re one troubled person. Seek therapy
I also love how they respect each other as they speak, no talking over each other LOVE IT
As much as ODB was high and drunk he was still a wise person who spoke the absolute truth
he force his son to watch him smoke crack and drunk minutes before his death.very wise
EXACTLY!…and thats all that should matter.
@@anyq_CS theres always someone like you that needs to ruin the moment j stfu ts isnt your situation
@@anyq_CS chill
He sounds wise, but he was actually smart. I've learned the most from the lowest of men. O.D.B never really got out, he stayed in and spiraled. "The wise man learns from others mistakes, a smart man makes mistakes of his own." R.I.P.... had he been wise perhaps we would all be listening to new WU. Although through his sacrifice others might have changed their ways before it was too late. He was a major asset to the universe in my opinion, both good and bad at times im sure, but his actions carried wide spread weight regardless.
GZA has the most intelligent sounding voice lol Idk exactly how to put it but I was reading the Wu Manual and RZA said something like he can make the simplest rhyme sound amazing. its all in his voice.
His secret is his consiousness about everything. You can see that his third eye is wide open. Not many people nowadays talks like him. Because they are drowned in this world and won't see the real shit.
Hes got a fatherly tone really comes you down and helps you see the bigger picture
he has a degree in PHYSICS GZA is very smart
Top 5 voices in hiphop. Meth is another one also. Great rap voices that you felt very comfortable listening to in the early 90s
@@archangel_gold2451 and I remember reading an interview where gza said he felt like rza had a better “rapper voice”, even tho gza is light years ahead of rza lmao humble dude
Back when the hood was intellectual asf
Well this is just how the five percenter Brothas just speak in general.
Yeah this when 5 percent was big in NYC. Before gang culture spread from the west and took over. Truly remarkable time back then.
It still is
@@BlakaveliX it's true though, it was gangsta to be smart as well as standing on business
Wow..the difference between hip-hop then and now. Even in just the way that they talk and express themselves...completely different culture.
Man O'Neal Dope
Man O'Neal and this still stands today
You got artists expressing themselves just fine nowadays.
Rappers back then were drug dealers, now rappers are drug addicts.
Joseph Nicklo nah they was drug addicted back then too. They was sniffing coke and smoking weed.
RIP ODB
these guys speaks lyrics even when they speak.
legendz
Odb looks like he really wants everyone to know what he's saying.
Oh thay know what he saying frfr
Haha
Gza dropped a Jewel when he spoke about chess. That's the science of the haves vs the have nots. Knowledgeable brother
"we just flip flows with lyrics that chop." any further questions?
0:11 Wait, who is that? LOL Gotta love Dirty Rest In Peace Brother.
Haha I thought it was hilarious that he said that
0:14 - Meth was like "Dirt, nigga, you know me already" with his eyes closed
Once he was gone the whole clan change up I’m sure they pushing deception now as that’s the only way to be something in the music industry
@@lanesmith3471no

Hell yea know wha im sayin

Everyone is... Good show
Meth and dirt are perfectly casted on the saga
you can really tell that odb, rza, raekwon and gza are the only people who are really motivated by kung fu
Dnt forget Ghost
And Ghost
Ghost is who put all of them besides Genius on to it tho
"You couldn't have five Michael Jacksonsesesesseseseses in the Jackson 5"
-The Genius
D G I’m crying because I was like dude was kicking mad knowledge then said jackonessessesssssesseesss!
Man the days of no media training. All you needed to be was yourself . Just don’t curse is the only rule.
ODB was the group's voice, and when he died the group lost their "voice". Wu Tang is still and will always be good but never the same.
Nah
@@prowlerbog yes
NY State of Mind was awesome. ODB son did great! Nas was awesome and Busta was OMG!! Wu Forever!!
@@bennyvigil235 busta and Nas are considered part of The group, or only afiliates?

@6:18 to 6:34 when ODB started laughing in the background and then @6:44 they show Meth, I died laughing. 🤣😂😫😭😂😆
Meth was FRIED.
LOL Meth is on a differenttttttt level

Gza...... Vocabulary amazing talking about chess....... Then says jacksonsonsess
😂
GZA was the mastermind behind this whole plan, he enabled RZA, then RZA made it happen with everybody else.
GZA is like Palpatine, and RZA is Darth Vader
I got chills watching this, the chessboxin breakdown makes me so mad at our generation of “Rap”
That shit Genius said about Shaolin is the realest shit ever, a Place of Peace, dope story.
The first English phrase I learned in the States was “ You know what I am sayin’” by Tupac and Wu-Tang. R.I.P to Ol’ dirty and Tupac, I miss you so much.
寅Style and DJ Screw
You could put on a beat with Gza talking, and you basically have gold.
better yet platinum
ODB is in another world ahahahaha. Its sick tho to see the GZA talking sense
Sachin Gasper why is that sick? Gza is the genius, man.
Sachin Gasper odb talks sense too nigga

R.I.P odb, you still put a smile on my face
“That’s how we coming” one slang thats still used til this day 😂 he caught me off guard wit that one 😂
ODB was hired to introduce the members of the WU 😂🙏 r.i.p GOAT
When Raekwon said you ain't gonna see us throwing stars I died
Damn, these guys were actually pretty solid in terms of message, I respect them now even more. Fuck yeah.
it have never been any other group in history with this many unique flows with skill no other group compares they all had flow to they was like a gang by the size of
odb had the most unique flow
my fav flow style was ghost and ghost had the coolest name
rza voice was always diffrent to from all others
When he was talkin about Kung foo and their comparison “We juss flip flows with lyrics that chop” saying this makes my brain think I said “with” twice 😂 him just talkin is amazing. I love how they view things.
Yeah they're very analytical and intelligent. All of them, you can tell from the way they structure their lyrics and the vocabulary they use filled with metaphors
People got to get back into - pure, uncut wu-tang knowledge. Straight up, and with martial arts as wisdom rather than karate chops. To walk and be master and retainer inside what is whatever it is. RIP ODB
Still nothing go harder than the Wutang Clan ! Much Respect !
Amazing i'm still listening to these brothers 15 years later. Knowledge is timeless.
im still listening daily since the first time i heard them, i think that was around 97' or 98'
@@QuartermazterHD mfs made Timeless Hip Hop classics
I'm only 19 (for now) and their music makes me feel like I missed out on A LOT
6:44 this must be the day he had that weed brownie

Lol he had an interview with hot 97 and he started talking about how he ate a WHOLE weed brownie. I would tell you the whole story but the interview is just THAT MUCH better
lauren thompson is a great interview? i love meth hes so chill you can hear him tell stories for hours
Method man high asf lmaooooo
ODB hella hilarious with that fries haircut lmao
Lol 0:12 " who's that ?we got the method man right there" 😂😂 . ODB trying to wake up a HIGH Method Man
ODB cracks me up. Such a soulful dude... RIP
I think it's kinda beautiful how these young men found both sanctuary and a meaningful, fighting spirit in shaolin through the oldschool kung fu movies. I think the great poets and philosophers of the past would be proud to know that these guys carry/carried on the tradition of actually contemplating the world around you and expressing it in an artful way that make/made sense to them.
RIP, ODB. Wu-Tang forever 🙌🏼
ODB was the Heart... RZA was the Mind. Wu Tang is the Body
The genius is the backbone
Lol everyone except GZA, Rae and OBD is high af
Nah ODB is always high
Jazdog 3124 what about method man 6:40
ODB is high he just used to it because he never not high
I guarantee ODB was the most fucked up. Drunken master style!
@D2NN1S Old birty dastard of course.
Dirty's energy was always different to the others, that's why it's appropriate that he was standing to one side and notice how the others weren't reacting to him or playing off anything he said. They knew he was a talent but I think on one level they weren't completely rolling with him
He was addicted to crack
@@FigurativeDreams and that gave us the best ODB
yes, rest of the group made hip hop more according to the rules, ODB broke all rules all the time, so he made em sometimes a bit uncomfortable... but in this video, all is good... they just sometimes scared what he will say or do, because nobody can predict that...
This is gold. I was reborn three and I
have a new gift and the exact same flow as one of these guys but I can’t tell by the music who’s who. I needed to know exactly who was who so searched randomly and this is the first video I found where he straight away points out faces and names so I can determine which flow exactly I am a channeling…
Straight legends. They so goated they even talked lyrics. The lyrics their talking are better than the lyrics rappers today claim they freestyle. You know... the golden age of hip hop artist had pride in saying they wrote their lyrics. Nowadays everyone so caught up in tryna be the best freestyler that they all claim they "freestyle their lyrics in one punch". Besides Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Denzel Curry, Freddie Gibbs, Joey Bada$$, Travis Scott, ASAP Rocky & Nas still keepin it real..... the rap game is really watered down
Remove travis
How was this already old 11 years ago? Jesus... how old am I?
Challz Brown this is a lot older than 11 years, try 20+

😂😂
I remember watching these interviews on the old Wu Tang Collection VHS tapes. They were featured right before the Kung Fu movie. I think this was the feature before Fist of Legend 2
Gza definitely brought the science, it's criminal how they did Inspector Deck, should have been one of the first ones with a solo album
He was, but he lost his entire album in a flood Including all of the beats rza had for the album. They couldn't recover the discs for the beats/recording.
He was supposed to be one of the first up, method man also lost a chunk of his solo album due to Rza's basement flooding and they had to hurry and remake a lot of Tical. Method man is not a fan of the version of Tical that we know, till this day for that very reason.
I would have loved to know what Deck's first album really sounded like and how different his career would have been had that never happened to him.
shoutout to meth for somehow being higher than odb
haha. ODB is surprisingly adorable here. infectious energy
7:07 you couldn't have 5 Michael Jacksonsizz🤣
ODB was so different and articulate during the early era of Wu Tang. You can tell the industry ruined his mental health
These brothers were legends from day one.
Yoooo i love this! Raw and real. R.i.p #ODB
The deuce, 42nd street between 7th and 8th avenue in NYC. My brother and I would go there and watch those Shaolin movies back in the day. Mad Monkey was the last we saw together. "You killed my master and I will get my revenge" was always the themes.
I grew up listening to these guys Wu Tang clan are the Rap scene nobody can top them best out there

Gotta love Method Man. He raps about getting high and then you see him in videos high as hell lol
Johnny Blaze is getting the Method.
Lol at Meth seriously intoxicated and looking out of it at 6:48. Where's Ghost?
Mike G Ghost was wanted by the cops at the time this was shot so he wasn't present
***** Lol the Wu always try to dodge police, like when ODB was evading arrest and dodged them at like three separate events before they caught him.
Shit happens :P
Shameik Moore from the wu tang American saga sounds exactly like Raekwon. You can tell he studied his mannerism down to his voice. Give bro an award!

GZA is so sharp. Not my favorite member but I could listen to him talk all day.
Tea low love tv When is he please ? I'm french so I don't understand everything.
these fools are fucking sharp. Their analysis of their material reality is incredible. Their collectivity is something to be admired at....some fucking rap legends here....
That "Big Po" dude is Oli Grant, one of their business managers, as the one guy already said I see. Great interview, appreciated seeing Dirty(RIP) looking sane and healthy and how he described his "tiger style." Interesting to hear him say "Gza taught Rakeem.." , I assume he means how to rap. I always thought they sounds like two sides to the same coin. I know Masta Killa keeps it mysterious, and no wu-fan cares about U-God, but woulda been nice to hear from Deck.
You could add a beat to GZAs interview lol
Meth look BLASTED lmfao. He just sittin there like 😵💫 lol
Meth is fuckin GONE 😩😩😩😩😩
